Vanessa Vintage Treasures

Found THEEEEE MOST STUNNING coffee and tea service set, circa 1883💗💗 I've seen sets like this at Governor's Mansions, Historic houses and museums. Never did I ever think I would own pieces of history such as these. These items were used in a restaurant in NYC in the 1930's and passed down as family heirlooms. The generation has passed on and by a stroke of luck, landed in Ms. Vanessa's hands. What a quaint shop, with a lovely and joyful owner. I am so glad I stopped by today. Oh, how this has made me so happy!

i was here a few days ago and i absolutely love this place and the woman that owns it. she is so easy to talk to and her selection is always so cool. i bought four pieces from her and wanted to buy even more. it’s a good thing i don’t live nearby because all my money would go to this store alone. Vanessa has an extremely warm energy and it carries on through her store. definitely check this place out if you’re in the area

Vanessa is one of the sweetest and most knowledgeable people that I've met in Baltimore. Her precious treasures are always worth a look. She has wonderful stories about each item and takes the time to explain the history which I loved. Her prices are fair and she does a wonderful job of welcoming everyone into her shop with low pressure or any expectations to buy. Stumbled upon this shop when roaming federal hill! It caught my eye from across the street. My son and I walked in and were struck by the selections of incredible vintage pieces! So much packed into this space we could have stayed hours. Vanessa was awesome. A true joy to chat with. I purchased two pairs of earrings both so reasonably priced. Stop by and you'll be sure to find a treasure for you or someone you love!

Thoroughly enjoyed today's visit with Vanessa in her beautiful store! Incredible collection of various styles of well-priced vintage jewelry (including Bakelite, Italian millefiore, filigree, Mexican items, and more. And Vanessa herself is a wonderful person. I cannot wait to go again!

Vanessa is lovely and her selection is fabulous. If one picks through the chock-a-block store, one can find amazing pieces. She has excellent selection of jewelry, handbags and porcelain. The value is good and she can tell you about each piece (material) and how it came to her store. I bought two amber necklaces today and I am not a huge amber fan, they were that nice. Next time I will spend more time on the Bakelite bracelets.

I don't live in Baltimore anymore, but Vanessa's lives on in my life through my collections of vintage fabrics, planters, and table linens and jewelry that I've bought from her over the years. Her shop is truly one of the best in the country, but her prices remain accessible (part of the reason her shop is so excellent). Lately I've been quilting and sewing masks for the family with Vanessa's vintage fabrics. I need to make a pilgrimage to re-up! Love me some Vanessa's!

I've gotten so many wonderful things here! So much fun rummaging through fantastic vintage tablecloths and embroidered linens, then deciding which to take home to feed my eclectic addictions. Great quality and very fair prices. I find something new each time I drop in, conveniently located on Charles Street in the heart of Federal Hill. What - these drawers have odd old kitchen tools?! And copper tins over there?! Her front window is always fun and inspired - recently a 70s theme, on point. Vanessa is the real treasure here. I enjoy her warmth and conversation; a neighborhood gem. I'm also very happy to support a business locally-owned by a black woman. Keep the love (and cool vintage glass bottles) flowing!

Even if you don't come for the vintage treasures, definitely come for Vanessa. She's so warm, friendly, and funny--she is a treasure in herself! While the store is small, it's packed full of well-priced goodies and worth spending some time browsing. Definitely a staple of Fed Hill.

vanessa is one of my favorite people in federal hill. she has amazing pieces in her shop at such an amazing price it's hard to not give her my entire paycheck. on days when i have no money i can simply go in for a conversation. she is lovely and her store is over flowing with equally as lovely vintage trinkets and jewelry. i plan to decorate my apartment with stuff from here

Vanessa is such a lovely lady! The pieces in her store are beautiful, and she has plenty of amazing stories about the both jewelry and her life. Plus, she gave us a huge discount! If you want to find good vintage stuff from pre-1980, along with a good story, I would highly recommend coming here.

Great vintage finds at Vanessa's! She is kind and reminds you of an old friend. She is the broach queen! Lots of colors, metals and classics that make for great conversation pieces. I love that she wraps your broaches in a paper towel and secures it with a piece of scotch tape. Authentic and packed with care.

Vanessa is such a sweetheart and a pleasure to talk to whilst shopping. All of her items have a story and hearing them all is quite lovely! The shop is a little small so don't be like me and bring a huge handbag with you. I had so much fun browsing her store with my friends and I'll absolutely come back another time. It's important to support our small Baltimore shops. :)

This little shop is filled with treasures and is so much fun to explore. I purchased a pair of screwback earrings and a moonstone pendant. The owner is absolutely lovely, and I enjoyed chatting with her as much as I enjoyed browsing the stock.

I'm really reluctant to write this review as I would love to keep this bevy of sparkles my little secret but I shouldn't be greedy. Vanessa amasses a great collection of vintage pins, bags, scarves, kitchen wear, jewelry, and linens. The clothing in the back is not as loved and are just so-so. Be aware she only takes cash or check. I usually use my walk to the ATM after picking out my purchases as my time to ask myself, "do I really need this double strand of pearls with fabulous flower clasp?". The resounding whirl of money spitting out at me pretty much sums up my trips there.

Vanessa is amazing!! The store is quaint, but packed wall to wall with gems. I enjoyed the atmosphere and how knowledgable Vanessa is. Next time we are in Baltimore we will definitely stop by. Thank you, Vanessa!

If you're looking for vintage costume jewelry; earrings, broaches, hat pins this is the place to go! She has beautiful clean pieces that are intact and prices are great! She is the sweetest woman who makes you feel like an old friend, someone you'd hope to run into again.

It's been too long since I've been to see Vanessa, but every experience has been a lasting memory, with the most beautiful 'souvenirs' bought each visit. She is always so excited to share her latest finds; for example, I remember inspecting her beaded bag collection (museum-quality, in my opinion)...with her guidance and enthusiasm and aesthetic genius, these wares are in the right shop while they await purchase. Her collection of china and dining pieces is delightful, as is her collection of jewelry. In particular, I always enjoyed her selection of linens. Some things may be haphazardly displayed, and you must tread carefully within such a small space, but if you have time to linger and savor, then please visit this idyll of a shop. It will transport you from the drear of the workaday world, and allow you to bring some beauty from the past into the light.

Love this store! If you are looking for one of a kind vintage treasures, don't miss this South Baltimore gem.

Not sure if the store is close, or gone for good. The sign is still on the window but the display cases are empty and the door was locked.

I agree with the last reviewer. I don't want others to know about this store. Vanessa has the best eye for fabric, vintage jewelery - especially Bakelite jewelery, depression glass, 1950s style planters, Victorian clothing and fabulous kitchen kitsch. I have bought so much here, fabulous rhinestone earrings for my wedding, aprons (she makes them out of vintage fabric and also sells authentic ones like my lovely Victorian lace half apron), plates, a sterling silver pencil holder, fabrics for pillows, pearl rhinestone necklace, little planters and vases and much more. If you have a project or an event, she will help you put something together. She is so nice and funny and warm and the prices are great. I am a huge fan! Her windows are also amazing. People have been known to buy everything in the window.

Vanessa's the shop and Vanessa the owner herself are true, deep and wonderful finds. A previous reviewer commented that she was overpriced and this is patently untrue. Her initial prices are market equivalent or slightly lower and she almost always will cut a deal even if not asked.One last thing. Her shop moved 2 years ago and is now at 1028 south charles street . Find the shop and you will not regret it ever.
