Beautiful place, nice decor. The costeletao we requested well-done and thought the waitress misunderstood me cause hiring came raw. I asked them to cook the meat more because it was not well-done. Then the meat came back like the photos. Extremely red... they dont know what well done is.

With a rustic decor, the restaurant is very inviting. Once inside, the staff is friendly and helpful. A nice selection of typical dishes of the region and wines. On one night had the boar and pork cheeks. Very well served and delicious! They tell you it's individual doses but each individual is enough for 2 people (and we are good eaters). The octopus is an individual dose; well cooked and not tough at all. The following night we decided to try the cod... absolutely divine. Done on the BBQ. It's for 2 people but enough for 3! We didn't try the desserts as we were just not capable of eating anything more but looking at the neighbouring tables, looked absolutely delicious! Highly recommended

Food was good, also deserts, some language barier, all else was ok.

Food was decent, but not exceptional. The atmosphere was very nice, but the staff was not well dressed and did not appear to want to be there. Really killed the vibe. I could see in the kitchen and they were not doing much, but the food come out much quicker than expected. That's always worrying. My steak was a bit tough and a bit cold. My wife's "Javali" was very tasty, but also a bit cold. My daughter enjoyed her meal. Overall, I would not recommend. Not worth driving half way up the mountain for this type of experience.

Very good place for traditional Portuguese food. There is limited outside view from most indoor tables (which is a shame, since the place overlooks a beautiful valley), but the wooden cabin vibe still makes it cozy and enjoyable. Service was attentive and friendly. The goat was properly made, crispy and tender, with tasty roasted potatoes. The boar is a fairly small portion of flavorful earthy meat with pleasant mushrooms and chestnuts. The juniper rice is a very soupy and meat-rich rice, with a slightly acidic flavor that works well. The soups were just ok, and the dessert menu was underwhelming, leveraging industrial ice-creams. We had the house wine and it was also not great, although surprisingly pleasant as a match for such an intense meal. I will certainly come back when I return to Serra da Estrela.

Good quality food, good price, friendly staff. Before going make sure you have reserve a table otherwise because of popularity you may not be able to have a table. The meals and starters were exceptional but the deserts however were delicious but could improve. Starters were tasty including local ham an very creamy cheese.

Well situated with decent parking. Food is moderate to expensive but given the location it's expected. It was full with a good atmosphere for lunch. Waiter service with attentive care. Step free access to the restaurant and has an outdoor esplanada also with table service under sun umbrellas. Popular with locals visiting and socialising over a customary coffee/bica

Very welcoming and efficient. Locally sourced food is delicious, but beware portions are enormous (2 plates would’ve done the 3 of us), but no complaints as we enjoyed it immensely.
