Värdshuset Lindgården | Restaurang & Hotell

First thing they did was to charge me again for whatt I had paid in advance. Alocated a room in an anex next to a road and a building site. Moved to a room 2 rooms from road. To be fair, the room was good inside but the bathroom was overlooked from the outdoor bar which was 8 meters from the door, Service was poor and stay not considered to be value for money. Breakfast room was a walk up the alleyway from the anex. We will not be returning

We were ambivalent after an evening at Lindgården (The restaurant, not the hotel). The environment was fantastic – a beautiful and atmospheric garden where we could enjoy the Scandinavian evening and the last rays of the sun. The price level was somewhat higher than other restaurants in Visby. The service was warm but unsatisfactory: The restaurant has two-hour sittings. Unfortunately, the service was not very attentive, which led to long waits and resulted in us still having half-full glasses of cognac when the waitress announced it was time to pay and leave. The food was good but uninspired. The meat was overcooked; I asked for rare but got medium. The flavors were pleasant but a bit dull; nothing to complain about, but nothing to praise either. We had a pleasant evening, but we will not return. Visby offers a large number of restaurants with both better service and food.

A more traditional approach to the kitchen I have seen on this Island. The Food was in good portions and the dishes were of exquisite taste. I would recommend this place to any lover of fine cuisine.

Beautiful place with good atmosphere. However considering the price the food and service were sure a disappointment. Firstly the staff didnt ask how the (very pricy) steak should be cooked. One of our meat dishes were under cooked and another were simultaneously over cooked. The fries were soggy and the Aioli sauce was broken. Pretty basic errors that one doesnt expect from a well established place with this price range. The staff were not bad but seemed tired and uninspired from the moment we got there (and we arrived early around 6PM). Our 1 year toddler received medium rare steak and when we wanted it more cooked the staffed argued with us. All in all not the best place we visited during our Gotland stay and was surely a disappointment.

What a wonderful find for a place to stay in Visby. We had a room off the Gin Garden and were very pleased with it. We slept well and benefited from having our own place to enjoy our drinks among others in the garden. ||The breakfast was served at a nearby hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it. ||We would gladly stay here again. Visby is such a beautiful town and we are so happy to have spent three nights there on our Sweden holiday.

All of our luggage including passport got stolen in Stockholm 2 days before our trip to Gotland and we immediately inform Hotel that we cannot arrive becasue we don't have any ID to take the plan; but they don’t even want to refund a single penny, nice play Sweden!

Very nice experience. I tried the harvest dinner. Really good food and treatment. It took 4 hours to enjoy through the 5 dishes

We had a lovely meal at Restaurang Lindgården last week when we were in Visby for a couple of days. The restaurant is beautiful. We started with some Gin & Tonics (the Gotlands Spirits Barrel-Aged G&T was particularly good). Then we had their ramp soup and carpaccio of Swedish beef for our starters; both were very good. For our entrees, we had Wallenbergare (minced pork with cream and egg, and served green peas, lingonberries, browned butter, and mashed potatoes) and Biff Rydberg (made with Gotland beef tenderloin, potato croutons from Buters Eko, butter-braised onions, egg yolk from Gandarve Farm, and mustard cream). Both entrees were very good as well. They had a great wine list (I had a glass after my G&T), and the service was great, too. Overall, the restaurant and the meal were beautiful and classic and traditional. I'd have sat longer and more to drink (or checked out their Gin Room) if we hadn't been exhausted by a long day of touristing around Fårö and Visby!

Om en restaurang har "gård" i sitt namn, skulle någon tänka att den skulle ha åtminstone en sak på menyn som är vegansk...en sådan person skulle dock ha fel. Vi gick till restaurangen innan trädgården själv öppnas, men jag föreställer mig att atmosfären skulle känna magisk när den gör det. Hur som helst, att inte inkludera en vegansk rätt verkar vara förlorad på 1980-talet (på ett tragiskt sätt). Allt var helt okej och vinet smakade underbart. Restaurangen har enorm potential och den kan fortfarande behålla sin gamla skolans vibe medan att erbjuda nååååågot för dem som inte kan svälja djurmisshandeln. Sammanfattningsvis är det lite löjligt att att ha en trädgård men inget växtbaserat att äta. Ginrummet låter dock fantastiskt!
