Vasco's

Located opposite the Abu Dhabi Hilton hotel on the waterfront, Vasco's remains a favourite restaurant with many. The restaurant has a very pleasant outdoor terrace seating area overlooking the beach, and is the place to be weather permitting of course. The menu has changed since my last visit, but there are some items that are permanent residents, such as the spiced grouper with mashed potatoes, and the Dal makhani... There is a small bar area where you can enjoy a refreshing drink whilst waiting for your friends. Inside the restaurant the atmosphere is cosy, there is a large bottle cooler refrigerator, a live tank with live lobsters, and a salad bar faces the open plan kitchen with a wood burning pizza oven. Service is efficient and friendly and the food still up to standard. Parking is usually available just in front and access for wheelchais not a problem. If you're looking to entertain, or simply enjoy a family meal out, Vasco's will not disappoint.

Situated in the exclusive Hilton Beach Club, the restaurant is named after the world famous Vasco Da Gama and the menu is completely inspired from his exploration route. With the marvelous view of the beach Vasco's serves cuisines from all over the world and they have manged to win some prestigious awards. I chose to dine inside and my favorite from the entire meal was definitely their selection of fine wine and mushroom risotto. Highly recommended!

This is a high end place at a medium-high end price. Seafood seems to be their go-to, although steaks are available. I had a Portuguese grouper which was saltier than I would prefer. Heaters are available on patio for cool evenings.

A mere image of its former self. Disappointing. Not sure what happened to the place, on previous visits to abu dhabi we were very impressed by the place leading us to visiting them again. Disappointing in many aspects, the service was not to standard, the food was not better that something that can be thrown together at home and the manager was rude and entitled. For the service, our waiter was kind on the rare occasions that he'd appear. The manager seemed as if he was well aware and content with the fact that his business would succeed on the business from tourists who don't plan on returning anyways. For the food, it was the biggest disappointment as previously we loved the meals that we were served. For me I had the corn-fed chicken which was bitter and served with some expired onion and mash which was spiked with flour for some reason. We shared the fried squid and calamari for a started and it was overcooked and not enjoyable. My family wasn't too happy either with their seafood dishes. I'll probably not go back there which is sad since we had good memories there.

I visited this beachside restaurant in the early evening and had a very enjoyable meal. I ordered Punjabi style daal makhani for starters followed by a tandoori grilled red snapper, which was a catch of the day that I could choose before it was cooked. Special thank you for Kamrul who looked after me and provided excellent and attentive service. I would recommend highly.

Visited this great restaurant on the corniche a couple of times while taking a winter break in Abu Dhabi. The food is amazing, you have to choose something from the tandoori pot menu, delicious. Our host Kamrul was so friendly, polite & very knowledgable about the area & it’s history. You have to eat here at least once, oh & the pints of Bitburger are great to.

I really like that restaurant for its location, outdoor seating and staff, specifically the fact that they are willing to provide items that are not on the menu - within reason. Prices are a bit expensive but this remains one of my favorite restaurants in Abu Dhabi.
