Spent 2 weeks here. We enjoyed the wildlife viewing and spring fishing. The park manager was a person I worked with up in the patch, it was a great conversation the whole time we were there. Bathroom stalls were clean and access to pay wood. We would definitely stay there again. The trade off for the beauty is the highway noise. We didn't notice after a couple of days.

It's fine, but it's small, with nothing to do or no where to walk to.
It is right beside the highway, so expect traffic noise.
Park staff were super friendly, so the rating has nothing to do with staff, set up, cleanliness, etc. It is simply a park with some nice sites an easy access abd easy to find. But that's it.

I had a wonderful wild camp here. Only cost me $18 a night basic facilities. But quiet and well maintained. The lake is clean, good for swimming, and fishing. I caught some huge white fish and carp. Small town nearby was easy to get supplies from. The campsite is next to the road but small so you do feel the solitude.
If you are a fisherman, there some good sites with you own mini beach. Security was not a problem. Could leave my fishing gear out overnight all there in the morning. Small animals around at night looking for food scraps nothing big brown and scary.

Non lakefront is hot and noisy road traffic
Lakefront is nice but constantly hassled from others to get your spot. Bring a big sign saying "NO, we aren't leaving, and my dog will bite you if you come into my site."

Wonderful area, lovely lake, lots of interesting places to kayak to, get out and walk through the surrounding mountains.

Nice side of the road stop. 6 or 8 beach spots and a couple pull thru beside the turnout. Peaceful, and the highway doesn't have much night traffic either. Special nod to Scott, the park warden(?) for excellent and friendly interactions. Would definitely stay longer if not for the 14 night max limit

A beautiful setting on Vaseax Lake where there are no power boats, just kayaks, canoes, people fishing, and peace and quiet.

Really nice spot! Got lots of trees and near enough to OK falls that if you forget something it's not a huge hassle, yet private enough where you don't worry about your neighbors! Only downside is proximity to the highway, so noticeable noise. Great bird watching, 5 minute walk away from a protected bird sanctuary, and GREAT for kayaking! Do be mindful of poison ivy and fire ants tho.
