Pros:
-super close to the Vatican-just 1 block to the Vatican wall
-1 street over to St Ann church
-Walkable to major landmarks in Rome
-Close to where tours meet (at least the ones I booked)
-Luggage storage is available on the 4th floor
-Nice staff of young people
-Slow season in the Vatican during December month (*it was great after Thanksgiving & before Xmas timeframe because there were still tourists there but considerable a lot less)
-In the room, there was a fridge, deLonghi espresso machine (with really good pods), clean towels, hot water for shower, 35” TV, and a safe to store passports, currency, and valuables
Cons:
-Slow elevator that takes 2 people at a time or 1 person with luggage (*at least you don’t have to walk up 6 floors)
-Room 603 has a clogged shower drainage (which was reported)
-Smaller living space compared to other rooms here at the hotel (*but larger than some airbnb places I’ve stayed at.)
-Early check out at 10:30am (*but you can keep your luggage here)
We stayed at the Vatican Style Hotel because we got married at St Peter’s Basilica (inside the Cappella del Coro!) and needed to make sure we could walk to the church. (Note: Vatican Style Hotel is a prime location if you’re getting married at St Ann’s too. It’s so close that you don’t need to take a car & risk being late to your wedding because of traffic!) Besides the souvenir shops directly downstairs, there’s a McD across the street (for those of you who miss home 😉), a really good cafe called Latteria that has the BEST warm paninis this side of Rome, and a salami & cheese store called Salsamenteria around the corner. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Vatican Style! I booked through a reputable third party online website at $140/night. With taxes plus something called “Locally collected mandatory fees/taxes” and the 50€ you have to pay upon arrival, it came out to be approx $165/night for 5 nights here for us. I don’t mind paying for the convenience so I would come back again!
