BE CAREFUL ! They are changing name on all Hotels apps to confuse people, when you book a room on any app they ask you to pay in cash, nothing else than cash, then what they do is that they cancel your reservation (saying that you didn't come) so this happen : - if you didn't notice you will pay a cancelation free (one extra night for them) - you can't leave a review on the hotel app because "you weren't there" - they keep an high score on the hotel app and keep charging more than other hotels in the area who are actually better quality

I have stayed here many many times over the years. The rooms are economical in every way. Decent sized rooms with AC, reasonable WIFI, and bathrooms with hot showers. Some rooms are in better shape than others but all are serviceable. I like that the rooms are sparsely furnished. TV has a few English channels and HBO which I wouldn't normally care about but in dull Vientiane you will need something to pass the time. If you are the type that needs all kinds of service and want bowing and scraping from the staff try elsewhere. If you just need a basic rest your head in the center of town place than you will be just fine.

BEWARE! Any and all of you looking to stay here in the near future; i can't speak for all rooms but Room 101 is most assuredly infested with BED BUGS. I have the bites all over my body and sightings to prove it. If you want the whole story, continue on: ||||The place could use a makeover, the downstairs smells horribly of sulfur and while courteous, most of the people working don't look like they want to be there (with the exception of the maids who were very sweet and helpful!). Even still, it was nice enough for the price and our room looked very clean. ||||Well, looks can be deceiving. What we thought were innocent beetles, turned out upon later research (somehow i didn't think you can see bed bugs...myth buster...you absolutely CAN and they look like little tics and then elongated beetle-like things as they grow..they also leave little trails of black "dirt" which i spotted wondering what we had spilled...if you squish and find blood, as we did...you have yourself...) bed bugs. Unknowingly we slept 6 nights with these suckers. We thought we were getting ant and mosquito bites (even though we have a net) and had no idea it was these "beetle creatures" ie bed bugs, instead...gross!|||| It was also a great concern/massive inconvenience because after we flew back home (Vientiane being the last stop on our trip) and realized what the hell those things were, I was worried I could infest my whole house as they can travel on luggage and of course, clothing. I spent my first day home washing EVERYTHING and vacuuming my entire house. Oh, and putting anti-itch cream on all of my bites (i'd say about 50...they take a few days to inflame and sleeping practically naked my last night did not help, ugh)||Until this hotel cleans up, I would NOT recommend staying here. Their sister hotel the Vayakorn Inn, however, looks amazing and had they not been booked we would have stayed there instead. I will be emailing the Vayakorn Guesthouse and will not amend the review until I have proof they have taken action in Room 101 and possibly the rest of their rooms too. ||||Go elsewhere!

Beds are not comfortable. When I asked for an extra blanket because of the mattress the wanted extra money. Even when they left my room unlocked, so rude. When I came back after housekeeping the room was unlocked. WiFi does work sometimes. Broken lights in the room. The hotel has potential, but need to work on hospitality and maintenance.

Gem for a reasonable price. Location is very centered. Staffs were super kindly and helpful, in and out of the building is clean, neat and well maintained ! I had pleasant stay her, would recommend to anyone who’s planning to stay here. Just don’t go to the restaurant next to it ‘cage de coq’ was terrible to serve medium rare steak as show chewing well done. .

Great location in the main tourist zone but still quiet, especially if in a rear room. Very nice staff. Being close to Haysoke's street stalls and we'll established roadside restaurants is also a bonus. The creaky, yet solid, wooden staircase is reassuring.

Having arrived tired and hot after my flight I had to wait for over an hour for them to fix the aircon when wanting to rest. Having been booked into the Inn I was told the next day I had to move to the guest house. Upon arriving several more problems were apparent with the room. When trying to bring to the attention of the staff they acted like school children by just giggling. When I ask to speak with the manager I was handed the telephone whose attitude was even worse than his staff - constantly talking over me and then shouting down the phone whilst I tried to explain the situation. Extremely rude and I certainly would not recommend this hotel / guest house group.

This is my personal experience. You might have a completely different experience. Do not attack me for my own experience. You have been warned. ||Wow. First night in Laos. How exciting right? No! My expectations were low but not as low as the Vayakorn guesthouse. Found a cockroach in the bathroom and heard a women screaming outside "stop don't touch me there" multiple times with some scuffling afterwards. The screaming was very disconcerting and really shaped my view of the Vayakorn. Not sure what to think about either experience coming from a developed country but the living quality was just not there. Lastly, there was also a lingering smell of rotten eggs in the lobby.||I will say however the staff service was very up to my standards. They were friendly, helpful, and interesting to talk to when waiting in the lobby until my group was ready. ||If you decide to stay in the Vayakorn, I hope you have a better experience than I did! ||
