I visit and reside at VE up to 4 times a year and; each time for between 8 to 10 days. It has become my second home outside Australia.
It's location suits me as it is close to my father's nursing home and they have good wheelchair access as well which is a deal breaker for me as it enables my father to come and spend the day at the hotel with me. My father's favourite spot in my room is next to the window, where he can enjoy a cup of tea and the scenery, whilst I work on my lap top next to him.
The staff, right from housekeeping, concierge, cafe, engineering and the front door security guards are always very welcoming not just to me but my father as well. Even the General Manager will refer to my father as "uncle" which is very humbling, for my 92 year dad.
As I am not there to do touristy stuff, all the things that I need are within the 3 buildings in the vicinity - money changer, bank, food, dry groceries, doctor, hair dresser, wellness spa, printing services, 7 Eleven.
I have found all their staff compassionate, kind and generous. They are quick to rectify any issues even if I call for assistance at midnight.
