Vecchio Sogno

Fancy Italian place, with a piano and good wine options. I absolutely loved my order (ancho beef with mushroom risotto), the entries and the desserts. I only missed some lighter options on the menu - but hey, it's Italian.

Simply put: The Best Restaurant in Brazil. Should have 3 Michelin Stars. They have traditional menu itens, always on, and constantly change some, so every visit is a surprise. Amazing! I strongly recommend!

Probably one of the worst experience I have ever had in BH. Chosen as the best restaurant of the city, we went with high expectation. 1) Villain: As soon as arrived they tried to sell the worst table available (so close to the door that was almost outside the entrance) but at first our hesitation, magically, a better table appeared. 2) Rules: in the first place they gave us the wine menu expecting we would choose one, without know what to eat; after some waiter request the main menu arrived (a horrible paper, super old and kept standing by scotch); ridiculous and miserable mise en plas. 3) Meal: I can't say it was bad but, I mean, I am in the best place of BH and I was expecting to eat something special but it wasn't; fish with no taste and pretty sure the mashed potato was industrial prepared; the plate was worn and gross, a lot of thing threw in the middle with no sense, trying to appear artistic and served with a metal lid, usually used in the 80's. 4) A lot of noise in background, couples kissing like they don't have a tomorrow, confusion by the waiters/ maitre/sommelier and the only good thing was the guy playing the piano. PS: I am italian and if you are trying to sell out italian kitchen abroad you have to take the responsibility of that and the possibility to have some italian clients that could understand that your kitchen has nothing to do with Italy.

Great food friendly staff. Food was exceptional. Breads were amazing. If you are in Belo Horizante Brazil and want Italian this is your place!

Vecchio Sogno is about the fanciest restaurant that you can find in Belo Horizonte. My friends and I came underdressed, but the waitstaff was still very accommodating. Their menu is quite interesting, incorporating Italian dishes cooked with Brazilian ingredients. We ordered 3 mains here: duck and truffle risotto, lamb risotto, and grilled cod. All were solid! Personally, I would rank them in that order. Both the bread basket couvert and the chocolate lava dessert were worth ordering as well. Check this place out if you're in the mood for a posh meal!

Wine list excellent, accompanied with fresh fish, it's Italian and French cuisine mixed together using Brazilian ingredients, what more can I add?

One of the best restaurants in town. The food is good and elegant carefully prepared by one of Brazil's most renowned chefs, Ivo Faria. The place is very classy.

Great atmosphere. Incredible food! The service was amazing! We had a large group and had a wonderful time! We would go back if we ever came back to this area.
