An Amazing Stay With Exceptional Staff – A Few Areas for Improvement
I missed the window to write this review on Booking.com due to surgery, but I still wanted to share our experience because our stay at Edana was truly memorable.
We initially booked four days, but ended up extending our stay after the hotel generously arranged it for us—even though no rooms were available online. My husband loved the villa and the resort so much that we were very grateful they made this possible.
What We Loved
• The Villa
The villa was huge, spacious, and very comfortable. We enjoyed having so much room to relax.
• Swimming Pools
The private pool was large and wonderful, and the main pool for men was also much bigger than what the photos showed—clean, well maintained, and great for swimming.
• Outstanding Staff
The service here truly stands out.
• Nina was exceptional. She took care of us every day, and when I was sick, she prepared ginger tea for me regularly. She made a lasting impression, and honestly, she deserves a promotion—she is truly amazing.
• Nhi and Tao were also wonderful and responded to every request with kindness.
• Sloan ensured our villa was cleaned thoroughly every day, especially because of my dust allergies. She also arranged for the cleaning manager and team to handle the removal of dead insects and old cocoon nests, and she made sure the pool was cleaned daily since the surrounding nature brings insects into the water.
Everyone we met was genuinely pleasant and helpful, which made our stay feel warm and personal.
• Bicycles & The Property
Being able to bike around the large resort was a big plus—fun, relaxing, and very convenient.
What Could Be Improved
• Spa Experience
Unfortunately, the massages were not memorable. Even though our package included daily foot massages, I often skipped them because I didn’t really look forward to the sessions.
After one massage, I gave an honest rating and noticed the staff member seemed to be scolded immediately. It felt harsh and made me uncomfortable, so afterward I avoided leaving any rating below 5 stars.
I discussed this with the spa manager, Sloan, and I truly hope the staff receive proper training. All the ladies are very nice—they just need more consistent technique and support, not pressure.
• Restaurant Food
The food was the biggest downside. It was far below the quality you would expect from a resort—honestly even below Vietnam’s street food, which is excellent.
The fish didn’t taste like proper fish, and even simple dishes like pasta were disappointing. For an eight-day stay, this was difficult, and we found ourselves buying snacks like chips, which is not ideal when staying at a resort of this level.
I sincerely hope they bring in a new chef, because the setting deserves better food.
• Shower Setup
The bathroom only had a rain shower, which I couldn’t use due to my upcoming ear surgery. I had to rely on the removable bathtub shower head to wash my hair. It would be great if they offered both options.
• Soaps & Amenities
I wish the resort would upgrade the soaps to something more fresh and luxurious rather than the basic Lifebuoy-type ones currently offered.
Final Thoughts
Despite the negative points, I cannot give this property less than five stars because the staff and the environment created such a warm and memorable stay. Nina especially made everything perfect for us—from daily care to arranging a lovely birthday dinner for my husband.
With some improvements to the restaurant and spa, this resort could easily become exceptional. We would love to return once these areas are upgraded.
