"Vedema is a World's Best Awards 2021 winner located in the quaint village of Megalochori. The building has a rich history, having been previously used as a wine cellar and a private mansion. Now, it offers suites and full estates like the Nafsika Estate, ideal for families or groups, which comes with five bedrooms, a private pool, and butler service." - Travel + Leisure Editors

I can’t say enough about how amazing this hotel is. We had so few complaints. They even stopped by our breakfast table on our last day to ask us about how they can improve. The Aegean Suite was beautiful with lots of space for the three of us. We love the marble, the spacious bathrooms, and the plentiful bottles of water. And it’s super close to some great shops and restaurants. I could go on and on but must give the greatest shoutout to the amazing staff who were some of the kindest people I’ve met at a hotel. They all deserve high praise for how they made sure that we had a wonderful stay, which we did. I highly recommend it.

The resort was really nice, beautiful views, great pools, really nice atmosphere and amazing rooms. The breakfast food was brilliant, but it was the staff that set this place apart. They were so helpful, really friendly and charming and they made the stay so great.

We stayed at the Vadema for 10 nights - this is an excellent hotel||The hotel is situated within the village of Megalochori and is itself designed with a village feel incorporating the original winery and low rise buildings with cobbled streets. The location does give rise to occasional noise for some rooms which we found to be delivery vehicles and not passing traffic ||You are literally a few steps from the village tavernas etc however if you wish to venture further afield, the hotel will provide their own transport at a time of your choosing. Once you wish to return simply WhatsApp the hotel 30 mins prior and they will return to pick you up. The system worked very well for us .||A couple of minor issues regarding hair dryers were rectified and even a new extension lead was sourced which made life easier for the wife at hair doo time😊||As with most properties of this calibre worldwide , it can be the staff that really make the difference. Everyone we encountered from the excellent Christina, Maria ,Melina , the omnipresent George together with F&B manager Vasilis, and the amiable Ivan in the bar whom we kept up late most evenings, were nice people to meet and converse with.||The manager Konstantinos is regularly visible and on patrol - always willing to stop and chat if required - he runs a good team||Finally it would probably occur to most people that it’s impossible for a hotel to change its “view” or location and maybe therefore more research should be carried out by some prior to to booking

We just stayed at the Vedema (Party of 5) on a recent trip to Santorini. The most important thing to know about the Vedema is that it is not in the middle of the action at Fira or Oia - rather it is located in a charming village called Megalachori. We really enjoyed the fact that we could spend all day among the crowds and then go back to this Oasis. If you are looking for the Instagram view from your room, this is not the place, but if you like luxury and charm, I would argue the Vedema is the best on the Island.||Pros:|- The rooms are all suites, and even big ones at that. I am not sure what room types we had, but they were very well appointed and comfortable|- The staff is super helpful and available, despite it being peak season and extremely busy. They quickly arranged a rental car for us, and handled a few other last minute things as well|- The pools are great and were a nice place to visit at the end of the day|- The gym was well equipped with modern enough equipment|- The location in the village really is awesome, and gave a unique experience to us on the Island||Cons:|- The only real issue we found was that food service at the pool was really slow.|- Breakfast was timely but it took over an hour to get pizzas and salads on more than one occasion, even when relatively empty.||Highly recommend the Vedema for any trip to Santorini!

We would both like to thank the management and staff for making our short stay (5 days) a thoroughly enjoyable experience, everyone was so friendly and helpful. We were also lucky enough to be upgraded to a new 2 bedroom suite which was amazing!

Very poor experience. Staff at check in were abrasive and not welcoming. I booked a suite that was over $900 per night and it was in very poor condition. Deep scratches on the floor, the door was banged up, the bathtub tiles were coming apart, cracks in the windows. Several simple requests for extra waters and coffee went unanswered. Check out was equally as bad as check in, erroneous charges on the folio that we had been assured were removed were still there, staff didn’t seem to care. The positives- breakfast is very good, and we encountered several staff members in the restaurants that were excellent. We travel to Greece every summer for a month, and we’ve stayed at many of the top rated hotels- including their sister property, Mystique, which is fantastic. This was our least favorite hotel experience- we just didn’t find it to to be with the money, and would definitely not consider it to be luxury or 5 stars. Lots of better choices on Santorini and in the islands.

The wine and restaurant staff were 5 stars. The wine tasting with Michael and Elaina was a great lesson in wine making in Santorini. They talked to us about how the vines were grown in a nest shape. The food pairing was plentiful with great conversations of the island. Highly recommend
