Vegan and Vegetarian Chana Songkhram

Very good Thai food. They have a mix of different local cuisines: Thai-Chinese, Isaan, Central Thai, etc. And it‘s not purely vegetarian. They also serve meat and fish dishes. We had a Tom Buay for example. A Thai-Chinese plum soup with minced pork. Very tasty. The service was nice. He was basically working alone and rocking the whole show. The owner is a real character. Everybody seems to know her. And even though this place is next to Rambuttri there are a lot of Thai people eating and hanging out here.

I would say the the vegetarian food is a good quality but unfortunately and although I explained for both waiters and even showed on Google translate that we DO NOT WANT garlic and onion in our food since we have allergy, still one of the dishes came with full big chunks of garlic in it!!! They apologized but made us pay full for the food anyway!! Make sure you say not spicy to avoid extra spicy like the Papaya salad we had.

Food is good, nice menu posted in front Dishes range from 120 baht and up A bit pricey for vegetarian food but it is located near the bus station to the Gulf of Thailand. Very touristy area. Service was lacking. They did not come to my table to take my order, I had to go up to the counter, which is odd because diners at other tables did not have to. The servers came to their tables...?? Food was tasty, som tum vegan style. I would come again if I was in the area, but I would not make a trip for it.

Good place for Thai food!! There are nice options on the menu! The atmosphere is pretty good and the street where the restaurant faces is pretty charming!

We attempted to dine here two nights in a row and were refused service both times. The first night the restaurant was busy and we were told there would be a one-hour wait for food, which seemed reasonable, so we left. The second night we returned and were again turned away, told that the kitchen was still “preparing food.” However, other customers were already seated and had been served drinks. The inconsistency was hard to ignore. Based on our experience, we genuinely believe they do not serve foreigners. We may be wrong, but that is certainly how it felt. It was disappointing and very unwelcoming.

Fantastic vegetarian food. We came in during rush hour and had to wait for each dish an hour. The drinks came quickly, but food starter one hour, main one hour and desert we nearly gave up, but it came after one more hour… The service was excellent. Great guy apologizing. So just come here if you’ve got a little time or outside the usual rush hour.

The kitchen took quite a while but it was absolutely worth the wait. Incredible stir fried tofu, perfect papaya salad (somtum), even though I should've asked for less spicy (still edible for a European)

Oh my god I've just had the best tom yum soup in my life! Just this tom yum made me feel so happy to be in Bangkok! I hope I can eat this everyday but sadly leaving Bangkok tonight, really wish I've discovered this place earlier! Highly recommend to everyone, vegetarian or non vegetarian alike!
