Ran by a lovely family and always has great staff The best of the best for stunning curries. They have a lot of excellent choices for people with different allergies/preferences. There's no missing out or having to settle for just a salad or jacket potato here. We come here a lot, one of our favourite restaurants in Cardiff. Really like the thali but if there are four or more of you, you can do a group deal where the chef picks what you eat. We have done that with friends and they loved it. Great dosas!

Amazing vegetarian food in Cardiff at good prices! We had a chickpea curry, green bean curry, rice and rotis and the food was so good. Authentic North Indian food, clearly labelled with vegan, vegetarian and allergens. Can’t wait to try more from here!

Great food, we've not been before but will most definitely go back. Service was a little slow due to there only being one person at front of house. Plenty of choice both GF & vegan, will return again when we're not going on to another event.

WOW.. just WOW.. we've been meaning to go for a few years, today we headed down and it's a gem of a place..  cant believe how close it is to central and one of the best meals and food I've had for a long time, very much a place where the food, hospitality and friendliness of all the staff was A1.. five stars!!!! Four of us went around 4pm on a Sunday, greeted by the staff, who were the most friendly, welcoming and helpful. We did see that there was no alcohol on the menu, but they do serve it... or as the main chap offered.. go next door, buy your drinks and then they charge £3 for BYO.. The food..wow.. so many dishes to choose from.. and I mean loads, if you're vegetarian or even a meat eater, you'll not be disappointed. We had the platter starter, which was more than enough for 4 people.. had 2 sharing platters and 2 main meals and so fresh, tasty and more than enough. Prepare yourself for the Atomic Bomb option that's included in the platter, I like spicy food.. but was very hot. And.. anything that you can't take on during the meal, they'll happily box it up for you to take home! We will 💯 be going there again.. amazing, tasty food, not a heavy "curry" that leaves you bloated, value for money was sooo good and the friendly, happy staff were a joy. Thank you so much..

I kept seeing this eatery every time I'd drove through to cardiff. Out with my daughter for the day, we decided to give it a try, so so glad we did. I did need to ask what the dishes were before ordering, but we certainly were in for a food sensation. Ordered some Dora's. These were so tasty, and I will definitely order again. If you're in the area, they provide takeaway too and have up to 25% off by using the code in store on their flyers. Indian food didn't disappoint. The desserts were tasty 😋 too. 1st time eating Indian food, yum yum We will definitely be back. Have something for all pallets, from mild to hot. Fresh ingredients full of flavour.

Excellent restaurant on every level. The best Indian restaurant in Cardiff. It actually cooks authentic Indian food. Lovely staff, and reasonable prices 👍 highly recommended.

Try it (it's good value) & amazing quality. Definitely amongst the best Indian restaurants I've ever tried (and probably the cheapest). No British-Indian here, this is as authentic as it gets & as flavoursome too! In keeping with that it doesn't serve alcohol, but BYO is fine, and it's vegetarian. As any meat-eater (and veggie) who's eaten here will testify - why can't all veggie food taste like this! Order early if taking-away, they're very sensitive to neighbours' concerns about noise/parking, so they close v promptly!

The best Indian food I have ever had in my life. Possibly even best FOOD I've ever had! Almost didn't go as I thought I was in the wrong place. Looks can be deceiving as I almost left after standing out the front of a very average looking building. However felt right at home as soon as I entered the door. I was greeted immediately by the friendly owner and staff and told about the menu and recommendations. After ordering food and drinks arrived quickly and looking around the rest of the restaurant I could tell everyone was being treated like royalty. When the food arrived my mind was blown, I had ordered £7 worth yet was given a huge array of breads, rice, curry, soup and a dessert, all of which was fantastic. I cannot recommend VFS enough, I'm even considering going back to Cardiff this weekend just so I can come back here!

I've been disappointed . The dosa could really do with more filling, and their sambar/dall is warm and tasteless, instead of hot and spicy to compliment the dosa. Their chats all have the same yellowish sauce smothered over them, which is awful. Ambience is great though
