Veleno Osteria del Mare

Quite big disappointment starting from not very professional and messy service, through absence of some dishes and finishing with small portions of food. Guests should be informed before that eg. only 2 main dishes are available. Or that there is not a pomegranate, that's why carpaccio was served with pink pepper - maybe is it good to point this while serving food? Moreover, in case of absence of the chosen wine, guests should have time to choose something. Instead "a similar wine" was served even without making us taste it. No effort, just doing things in the lowest level. The portions of the main dish were small compared to the price. We did not try any dessert cause with this atmosphere there is not much to do. There are better places nearby where you eat a lot with excellent service!

We came to this place thinking we’d have some seafood. As we sat down the man that helped seat us was nice enough. But the. The waitress came and we can read the risotto required for 2 orders. It was just her attitude as we ordered was such a huge turnoff. When asked about a Hugo spritz she immedistekt shut us down and said wine or beer. Ok, again not a problem, but how you say it matters. Hire better wait staff. She acted like we were such a nuisance and honestly I don’t care how wonderful your food is. Act like you love your job and be friendly. That’s all that a patron can ask for. We left, didn’t want our risotto to get spit into from the scoffing from the woman.

Lured by the coolness of the restaurant room when it was baking hot outside, we were relieved to stop and have lunch at VELENO ,The prices seemed reasonable and the manager welcomed us cheerfully. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed by the food that turned out to be mediocre and served with much pretentiousness. It doesn’t take that much to make a good risotto though. Bread was fine

Amazing food, tried risotto, avocado and shrimp millfeuie, seafood pasta! Very tasty! As well as welcoming foccacia

Ist wasn‘t so tasty as we expected. We ordered rizotto. 1. The girl told us it supposed to be for two people. But finally each of us payed the whole price for the dish. 2. It is osteria- a fish restaurant (!!) and in a fish rizotto instead of good fish peaces just 4 strange fish blots like somebody ate this before me. 3. The bread was hard and not tasty. Then we asked for a sorbet gelatto and the girl told us many times the sorbet isn‘t gluten free. But she couldn‘t explane why. How can sorbet contain gluten?? No enjoy , just money for nothing

Very delicious!!!! Love the family based company and everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely eat here again and again and again.

Sono anni che tradizionalmente nelle nostre vacanze estive a Barletta facciamo tappa da Veleno. Un luogo che sogniamo per mesi e dove ogni volta ritroviamo la garanzia di qualità ed accoglienza che lo contraddistingue, con la speranza che rimanga aperto ancora a lungo. Spesso usufruiamo dello sconto thefork, ma in ogni modo riteniamo ci sia un ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo. Crudo di mare top, antipasti e risotti sempre di alto livello, con materie prime fresche ed abbinamenti piacevoli al palato. Un'esperienza che ci piace vivere in coppia, ma condividere anche con amici. Anche i dolci non sono da meno. La cameriera, che molte recensioni citano, con noi è sempre stata di assoluta gentilezza, serietà, professionalità, cosa che non è scontata, e di buoni consigli, ormai le siamo affezionati.
