I really like the location, atmosphere, and size of this place. The staff were friendly, there was plenty of space to sit, and in general it was quite quiet which is always nice. I was a little disappointed they didn’t have a mocha option, but the vanilla latte was well made. I would liked it more if it had had more vanilla in it, but it was still a well made drink. In general the shop was on par with most other modern coffee shops in Chattanooga, which is above average.

Excellent place to do some work and drink good coffee. The staff is friendly and the place is nice. Wifi speeds are approximately 500mbps down. I got an espresso and the flavor was very bright, but not overly acidic. Very good pull.

This is my new favorite place! Love interior vibe going on and the outdoor seating is nice when it’s not too hot. Yummy snacks and great coffee. Definitely going to try their Tour de Brunch!

Charming Spot for Great Coffee—Just Not My Remote Work Vibe Velo Coffee Roasters is an adorable little coffee shop with a warm, welcoming vibe. The staff are friendly and personable, and the coffee and muffin I had were both delicious—definitely worth coming back for! I already have my eye on the chocolate chip cookie for my next visit. As a remote worker, though, it's not my ideal spot to set up for the day. The parking can be tricky, and there aren’t many wall outlets, which makes working from there a bit of a challenge. That said, it’s a great place to catch up with a friend or just enjoy a quality cup of coffee in a cozy atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back—just probably without my laptop.

Nice coffee shop. Plenty of seating. Plenty of space. Friendly baristas. Got a nice cup of cold brew and some banana bread. They have a little selection of muffins and breads. Nice place to stop and chill.

Very nice coffee shop, unfortunately most of the visitors were there to work 💻 or read 📖, not really for coffee, which made it difficult to find a table. The coffee was delicious, and the service was pleasant!

Absolutely wonderful experience at Velo!! The outside tables are perfect to work at. Not too much road noise. The customers working are kind about their areas. The coffee was top notch as well. I’m visiting on a trip and needed to work for a few hours. Great WiFi! 5/5 totally will be back!!

I've been to Velo a couple times now and I'll have to say, they have some pretty cool coffee drinks. I'm always trying to find new coffee spots and love their specialty drinks! The baristas are a bit standoffish and aloof but I can't deny they make good coffee. The outdoor seating is a bit messy (well, as in the ground is dirty, which in turn makes my white pup dirty) but overall pretty convenient. My last visit to Velo, there was plenty of seating but unfortunately, it was very busy and the last table available was in the scorching sun... so suffice it to say, we didn't stay long. My favorite coffee drinks that I have tried have been the $5 Specials from 2021 (I know, ages ago now) but were both super creative and delicious! I loved the complexity - basically like an alcoholic cocktail but with caffeine. The Garden Party was floral and pretty but the Nitro Radler was so tasty and easy to drink. The coffee soda is also a great and simple coffee "cocktail" if you will that I highly recommend. I came across Velo via a recommendation from a friend who is no longer with us, Vic Yang. RIP dear friend.

What a glow up! I take it back. With all the new space after the remodel (which looks really fantastic btw), this place is great. Highly recommend.

Decent coffee. But, not the best in Chattanooga. Flavor was just average for the espresso drinks. Also, I felt the temperature of the latte was just warm and not hot enough. As far as atmosphere, Velo has a weird vibe. It's like a roasting facility that's trying to be a coffee shop in its spare time. Not a very aesthetically pleasing interior layout and it's cramped to walk around. Would I go back? Probably not. Too many other quality coffee spots in town. That said, it's not bad. Just not very remarkable.

Great little coffee house over on the Southside so close to us. We discovered these guys and instantly fell in love. They offer craft drinks, as well as their own coffees roasted to perfection. I have pretty much switched completely from Starbucks to their blends. My only complaint about Velo is they only have ONE SIZE of coffee, and I want a BIG COFFEE, not the equivalent of a Tall at Starbucks being the only size. Also these guys carry Bread and Butter products in their case for a snack. Highly recommend, check them out for sure.

I've been to Velo numerous times. I LOVE this place. As a specialty coffee connoisseur, in the business myself, this place checks every box I could think of. Definitely the place for a coffee nerd or someone who wants an amazing cup of coffee. They always have awesome original recipes for new funky drinks. Their roasting is incredible and the branding for everything they sell is phenomenal. If I could go to one coffee shop for the rest of my life, it would be Velo!

Super small menu Cool vibe though I think this is more of a local haunt for faithful followers. I'm sure it has its own community and culture. The cold brew was good. But don't expect frills or flavors here. Straight up good coffee.

Average coffee for above average prices. Comes in tiny sizes. I could do better at home. My main beef with this place is that it's essentially a warehouse. I had nowhere to just stand and wait for my coffee comfortably. Typical pretentious barista vibe. If you want your money's worth try somewhere else.

Great coffee shop. I was in town and wanted a real cup of coffee. Not some cute, whipped cream "coffee shop." And this delivered. A serious coffee shop for people who care about coffee. And remarkably affordable.

If you're looking for a place that showcases their coffee and doesn't hide it behind sugar, this is the place! It's a very chill atmosphere and they have some fun drinks alongside the traditional espresso bevs. We tried nearly every shop in Chatt while we were here and this is the only one we kept coming back to!

Love the aesthetic of this place and all the alternative brew options (aero press, chemex and kalitawave). Great outdoor seating, merch and decor. I live for excellent coffee and the craft and skill it requires. Im guessing thats why many a baristas are just CRANKY. Add this place to that list. I just don't get it but you all know what i mean.

This place came highly suggested from a couple of the residents at UTChatt. It was chilly out but since we had the pup we sat on the back patio. The staff was super helpful and friendly, I'm a plain Jane coffee drinker so I appreciated when the barista didn't judge me for not knowing what half the menu was . Went with the suggested cortado, the milk was frothy and slightly sweet which perfectly offset the typically bitter espresso. My husband went with the Guatemalan drip, it came in this cute little press and was very good. Typically I can't drink straight black coffee because of its bitterness but this was delicious. Would go back for sure!

I had a great experience here and loved the vibe. Lots of outdoor seating and delicious coffee. I came in to also buy a glass pour-over serving pitcher and they were out. They sent me to Goodman, which is very kind and I found what I needed there.

They stated they make all iced lattes with their cold brew concentrate, which was unique. The coffee had a rich, berry taste and I think a plain latte, no sweetener or syrup, would have a lot of flavor. I tried a decaf vanilla with oat milk. They also had decaf concentrate. I didn't see much seating or comfy seating but there was outdoor space. The staff was friendly and fast in mixing my drink.

Wonderful local coffee shop with a very cool low key vibe. We had the sweet cream affogato. The sweet cream was SO good I probably could have eaten it by itself. The espresso had a great smooth flavor. Will definitely be back to try the iced coffee next!

First the guy taking my order was a complete jerk. I get it, they think they are too cool because they make simple coffee and they are too good for sweeteners and cream. Whatever, I'm used to the pretentious coffee shops. You can act like that when you have good coffee to back it up. My cold brew tasted like mud water from Flint Michigan. I've had better cold brew at, may I say it?.... STARBUCKS. *GASP* But in all seriousness, I've been here before and it was really good. That's why I came back, but today the customer service was bad and the drink was just as bad.

This coffee place had a really low vibe compared to the others I've been to. I asked if they could make a spicy latte, similar to their spicy nitro cold brew, and the cashier worker pointed to the menu and told me that they don't stray from the menu. Idk, the place seemed dim, like only tight knit friends were welcomed there. However, the person who made my coffee was very kind when he handed us out eggnog lattes with fresh nutmeg on top.

Good coffee but 1 star for the customer service. Asked for a latte with whole milk somehow got oat milk and iced??? When the person taking our order came out we asked how she was doing to which she replied "Hey". (Shouldn't they ask you?) They treat you different if you don't have oversized jeans and a septum piercing. The environment is ok kind of crammed. I heard 7 eleven has great coffee and usually the customer service is great!

One of the only coffee shops I legit want moved to my community. The brews here are pure art and just look at those menus! I couldn't get enough of the coffee in Rose Dreamz form and had to run right back to the counter to try something else. Went for Triple T and again, super tasty, refreshing, summer sunset in liquid form. My friend who was a bit miffed to stop on our trip down to Atlanta immediately changed his tune once he got the Bunny Hop. So good! I love seeing original ideas thrown together with creative ingredient combinations. This place feels a bit weird as the atmosphere of eclectic garage sale vibes doesn't match the exquisite drinks. But I'd be outside anyway if this was near my house!

Ordered an extra hot vanilla latte to go, was extremely lukewarm. Went to heat it up in a mug at home and found an unappetizing amount of grounds in the latte. Espresso did have a decent flavor profile, but not worth the quality of the drink overall.

We had the pleasure to visit Velo a few weeks ago and fell in love with their beans. I made sure to pack an extra bag of Mexico Cesmach on our way back to Michigan. As soon as I saw their subscription service, I signed up instantly and so glad I did! This local business provides quintessential customer service, which is the tied bow on their product. Highly recommend a visit if you're into freshly roasted beans! Thank you Velo!

Velo is wonderful! They have some of the best beans around (and even supply some of my favorite local bakeries and restaurants)! I buy their beans for cold brew and pour over at home and it's excellent. I also appreciate how they have been able to adapt well to the pandemic and are keeping their employees safe.

No doubt they have the best coffee in town. I'm still iffy about their service but it's been great the last three times I've gone....so there must have been some changes.

Best of Chattanooga? Probably. The drinks are excellent: consistent in taste and aesthetic. Baristas are knowledgeable and engaging. I wish Velo was in existence when I lived in Chattanooga. Since it wasn't, I'll be visiting every chance I get when I am town. Cheers!

Loved the coffee! As a first time customer, I found it awkward to find the door/how to order during COVID. I'd go again for the coffee. Kind of disappointing, they don't have any flavor syrups. I wanted a vanilla latte which I couldn't get. They did have simple syrup instead. Looking forward to visiting again when we can sit in the restaurant.

Delicious rich whole coffee beans and decadent in house honey latte made to order! Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. You'll love the aroma and flavor especially of the coffee beans for at home French press coffee. Absolute delight!!

Best cold brew in town. I have found that only 2 places in town can prepare a americano correctly. This is one of the 2. If you want watered-down coffee, goto a gas station. They take pride in the preparation and proper techniques in brewing coffee. They also offer light food menu, Local bottled kombucha, ect.

This place was okay. I saw it had really high ratings, but to me it was not above and beyond. It seemed a bit pretentious and the menu was limited or at least different than your typical coffee menu. I got an iced latte and it seemed to be premade or something, literally had it before putting my credit card away. They also are very intense with COVID, which is great if you are wanting every single precaution there is, but is annoying for those who would like to sit down inside or be able to wait to order inside and not outside in the cold.

This is my favorite coffee company in Chattanooga. Their coffee is phenomenal; they know how coffee should be enjoyed. If you love coffee and everything involved in the processes of coffee, you need to come here. The baristas are extremely knowledgeable and love coffee and the place they work for. This place is an experience; Not the place to sit down and just get a cup of joe and do work on your laptop. Of course you're welcome to do that, but their coffee deserves so much respect and appreciation. I've had almost everything they offer. You have to try their Niterider and The Shrubbery. And of course, try whatever coffees they're brewing. It's absolutely divine.

So a group of us in Chattanooga for the weekend for a wedding, The bride and groom recommended Velo, which was within walking distance of our Airbnb. This team knows how to make the perfect cappuccino!!! Everything everyone ordered was made to perfection! Love love love the coffee, the vibe, and the patio!!!

Some of the best coffee in Chattanooga. I love drinks off their rotating seasonal menu. They often have coffee based non-alcoholic cocktail type drinks and I highly recommend them. Also, you need to try their hopped and carbonated cold brew.

The vibe was just okay. Wasn't sure if it was a community garden, print shop, or coffee shop. Coffee was really good, but feel like they could help their branding if they didn't use paper products that were the cheapest. If I'm paying 5$ for a latte put it in something that looks better than gas station coffee. Their coffee is too good to be represented that way.

Velo is awesome. They roast AND they're super into pushing the boundaries with what you always thought you knew about what coffee could be... I mean, hopped coffee soda? Cascara soda? Finally, someone isn't just accepting the "way coffee is supposed to be brewed." They do it right, no doubt, but they also look for new ways to contribute to the ever-expanding world of third wave.

If you want better coffee and much better customer service I would skip Velo and go straight to Mad Priest.

The best coffee roasters in Chattanooga! You've probably had their coffee around town, but if you've never been into their Main St. location you're missing out. It's a charming little space, and everyone is super helpful and friendly. Stop in and pick up some locally-roasted coffee or coffee-making supplies!

This is the best roasted coffee in Chattanooga. If you're a coffee tourist stopping through our city, go here. I buy their beans every week to make at home and I'm never disappointed. However, if you're wanting an afternoon "coffice" (coffee office) then go somewhere else like Starbucks or Frothy Monkey. They only have outdoor seating here.

I love it here because they sell cheaper but better quality coffee compared to the mainstream /commercialized coffee shops. The staff are also very nice and helpful. I love coffee and I can tell that they have better coffee than others. Also, they roast their own coffee beans which i think is good because every cup of coffee poured is fresh.

We really enjoyed this place. I had a cortado and my wife had a latte. They were both good. We also tried a bottle of Bunny Hop (this is the reason we visited) and it was really good!

If there was a word to sum up how Velo does coffee it would be "intentional." The roasters and baristas focus on making good coffee, which can alienate those who expect a corporate cafe loosely centered around coffee that caters to the masses by drowning their wares in sugar, flavored syrups, and ten different kinds of milk and milk substitutes. No cake pops, no blenders, no pumpkin spice, no fancy to-go cups - the coffee at Velo is the best in Chattanooga because there is only coffee to perfect.

Unique place. They have multiple methods to brew coffee, very cool. The barista was very pleasant, informative, and walked me through the methods and varieties they have. The atmosphere was pretty chill and somewhere you could relax and really enjoy a cup of coffee. They have pastries from another shop and the variety is limited. Great experience.

Why would you not have cream or half and half for customers to put in their coffee? Any shop trying to force you to buy a more expensive product or experience is out in my book. Strange layout, messy interior, and unfriendly employees capped off the experience to ensure I wouldn't go back.

I travel a lot and every town I go to I stop by the best local coffee shops for a cortado. This place had The Best I've ever had. The espresso choice matched perfectly with the milk. I will definitely go back when I'm in the Chattanooga area
