Velvet Hotel, Bar & Brasserie

We had a wonderful room overlooking the canal. Staff were excellent. Room very clean and comfortable. Had a mini bar which was fully stocked. Mood lighting very good. The downfall of this hotel was the thumping disco or DJ music which went on until 3.45am. I’m no prude but to have this boom boom boom until this time in the morning was very stressful.

Had a lovely stay at this Hotel. The staff were all polite and helpful, and the room we had was lovely. Without doubt the nicest bed we've slept in I'd love to know where you bought that bed from please guys if possible. Everything was clean, tidy and organised in our room, including the bathroom. The scent in Reception and through the corridors was absolutely lovely too. Very impressed. Just a lovely stay overall so thank you. |Ps - let me know about that bed please! (Room 16) x

We held a 40th party here and we couldn't have picked a better venue. Gabor and the rest of the Velvet team were extremely helpful every step of the way. Nothing was ever an issue and they happily assisted with any additional requests we had. The room looked great and all our guests had a fantastic time. The bar staff were very friendly too which always helps add to the atmosphere. Can't recommend this venue enough.

Fabulous hotel with luxurious warm rooms. We booked a balcony room and stayed for New Year. Excellent staff service. Very nice restaurant with delicious food options. My only complaint is that on arrival we were asked for a £100 deposit authorisation in case of damages. This did actually turn out to be in the small print on Booking.Com but we had overlooked it and didn't get paid until the following day. So we asked if this could be done first thing the following morning. Bit disappointed with the 'We can't bend the rules' message (of course you can. All good businesses do it for loyal customers and we have been before.) Anyway, a quick but embarrassing transfer from another account and it was resolved. Wholly unnecessary but it didn't take the shine off a superb short break.

We booked Velvet Hotel for a two night stay for New Year and we had a fantastic stay.||The location is excellent. It’s in the heart of the gay village with the train station a few minutes walk away and plenty of car parks available nearby too.||The staff were super friendly and attentive. We were made to feel welcome right away. ||Our room was superb. We had a balcony room and the decor was super stylish with vaulted ceiling and extra big TV. The en suite bathroom was lovely with free standing bath and separate shower cubicle.||The bed was amazingly comfortable and the coffee machine meant we could have a proper cup of coffee in bed each morning.||All in all we had a brilliant stay and would 100% recommend this hotel.

Lovely Hotel personally I think the rooms were a little bit too dark and just some of the finishing touches didn’t really work but overall nice clean hotel breakfast could’ve been a bit better. It’s a shame they can’t do a cooked option as well as just the Continental but definitely would stop here again. Staff were fantastic very helpful very friendly.

I recently stayed at Velvet Hotel in Manchester and had a fantastic experience overall, despite an unexpected issue with the water supply during our stay. While this situation affected several businesses in the area, the team at Velvet Hotel handled it with incredible professionalism and grace.||The hotel itself is a gem – stylish, chic, and in an excellent location, just steps away from the best of Manchester. Our room was beautifully decorated, comfortable, and spotless. The staff went above and beyond, and it was clear they cared deeply about ensuring guests had a memorable experience, even under challenging circumstances.||I can't praise the team enough for how they managed the situation. Despite the water issue, they were always smiling, friendly, and accommodating. It’s rare to see such dedication to customer service, and it truly made a difference. I would happily stay here again and recommend Velvet Hotel to anyone visiting Manchester. Thank you for making our trip special!

Very nice bar with great choice of drinks and cocktails. The cocktails are well prepared. Not cheap but you get value for money. Sophisticated club atmosphere. Not too many people but I liked that. If you're looking for crowds and mingling.... this is not the place. If you're looking for a nice drink with friends or partner.... this is the place to be.
