This place is so pretty and so fun. We didn't stay long enough for the show but our bar tender was really cool to chat with and the drinks were delicious.

I love the vibe. The live music was great. The drink was good and the fact you walk down an open basement was freaky but cool. It's on the little block right next to the open parking garage on the same side.

The performances were impressive based on what I was able to see from the TV positioned above the bar. However, the view was limited due to the placement of the pillars throughout the space. I would have appreciated more interactive engagement from the performers, such as moving around the floor. Service at the bar was somewhat slow, and while the music appealed to a wide range of audiences, the overall flow wasn’t quite to my taste. Despite these points, the venue certainly has strong potential.

This is venue is dope, and a true speak easy vibe! Beautiful decor and ambience, and some of the best entertainment and cocktails in the city. Everyone was so welcoming and diverse. I've gone to about 3 different shows here; one comedy, and a two burlesque/pole entertainment, and the shows were exceptional. Give this newer venue a try and you won't be disappointed!!

I had the pleasure of checking out The Velvet Whip a week ago and wow what a unique spot. I walked in not really knowing what to expect, but as soon as I got down the stairs I knew I found something amazing. The venue has a real underground / hidden gem vibe. I was there for jazz with some live poetry, the acoustics great, the crowd was really chill. The bartender (I think his name was Cory?) was awesome, super friendly and made a killer cocktail. It was a play off an old fashion that was really good. If you’re looking for a spot with a lot character and makes you feel like you're part of something unique, The Velvet Whip is definitely worth it.

The Velvet Whip is absolutely fabulous. It is SO gorgeous inside, so beautifully decorated and thoughtfully laid out. The staff are friendly and fun, and there's always a great show or event happening. The best drag and burlesque in Philly is at Velvet Whip. Also, the cocktails are outstanding. Highly, highly recommend
