In every visit to Italy, there's one sacred obligation: gelato. But there's gelato, and then there's Venchi. This Italian chain, which began its journey back in 1878 in Turin, has become synonymous with uncompromising quality in both chocolate and gelato.
During my trip to Rome, I had to stop by one of their amazing branches (I visited the one near the Pantheon/Spanish Steps). The experience starts even before the first bite: display cases overflowing with glossy chocolates, fresh gelato made daily, and most importantly – a cascading chocolate waterfall that flows down the wall (you can even ask them to fill the bottom of your cone with it!).
Venchi's gelato is something else entirely. It’s free from artificial colorings, flavorings, and preservatives, and this is evident in the rich, natural flavors, especially in their chocolate varieties and the use of premium Piedmont Hazelnuts and Bronte Pistachios.
In summary: If you are looking for the ultimate indulgence in Rome, this is the place. I highly recommend trying their classic flavors like "Cremino" (milk chocolate and hazelnut) or "Cuor di Cacao" (intense dark chocolate). Guaranteed pleasure!
