I Thought I Hated Cruise Excursions — Until I Finally Tried Them

"A family-run winery founded in 1947 that offers tastings designed to give visitors a deeper, more contemplative appreciation of the island and its people. Experiences here can be paired with other activities—such as a meditative yoga class—to transform a routine sightseeing stop into a richer, more personal encounter with local winemaking traditions." - Travel + Leisure Editors

The oldest winery on the island, the popular drink is still made on the side of a hill. Walk inside and you'll find several levels that do deeper. There's a little museum that talks about its history and then a tasting room. Ordering tastings and food, it was a relaxing place for lunch. The sweet white wine tasting was excellent and we ended up buying some white wine at the end from their shop. Service was excellent and the views are absolutely stunning! It was too windy when we went so staff had everyone sit inside, but the restroom is outside and wow- I'll never forget that view!

Wonderful tour with a friendly guide. A very unique way of making wine. Their pride is the use of wine making using gravity and the architecture to their advantage! Their tasting is very curated, and eclectic. Be mindful of the cheeses!

Stunning views, great food and brilliant service. Absolutely worth the 44 euros for the lunch and four wines. I was very impressed by the lunch, it went well above expectations 👌

Loved our time here! The view was beautiful and the wine very lovely. Went to santo as well and think this is better if you like a smaller, more intimate feel with just as good wine and views!! Wine history museum also very interesting. Highly recommend.

We did some wine tasting here booked through EF ultimate break. It was a great experience even though they give you very little wine to taste, the snacks were good tho! Plus the view here is amazing.

One of the best wine tasting tours I’ve experienced. Tonya & her team had delicious appetizers (so many if felt like lunch). Cherry tomatoes fritters, Greek salad, olives, salami, prosciutto, tomato paste with capers, & more. We tasted FIVE wines: 3-white wines; 2-red wines. It was a FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!!!!🥂🍷

Not only is this winery stunning and the wine delicious, but the staff are wonderful. My friends and I had a booking for a tour and tasting, but earlier that day I severely sprained my ankle in Oia and had to miss our booking as I was in the hospital. Not only did they let us reschedule for the next day, but they opened their sunset terrace a bit early so I only had to go down a couple steps with my crutches. I couldn’t do the tour (too many stairs) so they turned it into a private tasting so we could still try their wines. We loved all of the wines and bought several bottles to take home. The views of the caldera and sunset were amazing. I am so appreciative of their flexibility and allowing me to salvage as much of our trip as possible. If we are ever in Santorini again we will absolutely be back!

We showed up without a reservation (11:30 AM) and had no issue getting a table. The view cannot be overstated, but neither can the warm reception, great wines, and delightful small plates. Dina (our server) was incredibly knowledgeable about Venetsanos wines but also just viniculture on Santorini in general. A must see if you’re in the area, even if just a brief stopover to another island (like us)
