I Thought I Hated Cruise Excursions — Until I Finally Tried Them

"A family-run winery founded in 1947 that offers tastings designed to give visitors a deeper, more contemplative appreciation of the island and its people. Experiences here can be paired with other activities—such as a meditative yoga class—to transform a routine sightseeing stop into a richer, more personal encounter with local winemaking traditions." - Travel + Leisure Editors

The oldest winery on the island, the popular drink is still made on the side of a hill. Walk inside and you'll find several levels that do deeper. There's a little museum that talks about its history and then a tasting room. Ordering tastings and food, it was a relaxing place for lunch. The sweet white wine tasting was excellent and we ended up buying some white wine at the end from their shop. Service was excellent and the views are absolutely stunning! It was too windy when we went so staff had everyone sit inside, but the restroom is outside and wow- I'll never forget that view!

The wine was excellent and the charcuteries & cheeses were very good. We went during the festival celebrating the last eruption of the volcano in the middle of Thira so we had fireworks. The sun set is very beautiful from the terrasse as well 🌅

Wonderful tour with a friendly guide. A very unique way of making wine. Their pride is the use of wine making using gravity and the architecture to their advantage! Their tasting is very curated, and eclectic. Be mindful of the cheeses!

Stunning views, great food and brilliant service. Absolutely worth the 44 euros for the lunch and four wines. I was very impressed by the lunch, it went well above expectations 👌

Loved our time here! The view was beautiful and the wine very lovely. Went to santo as well and think this is better if you like a smaller, more intimate feel with just as good wine and views!! Wine history museum also very interesting. Highly recommend.

We did some wine tasting here booked through EF ultimate break. It was a great experience even though they give you very little wine to taste, the snacks were good tho! Plus the view here is amazing.

Incredible wine testing experience. We took the 6 wine package that comes with a plater of cheese and cold cut. Each wine is well described and match with a cheese or meat. Its a relaxing setting, not too loud. The view is simply unbeatable. We didnt want to leave! Amazing sunset. From beginning to end, the employees are there for you, willing to take pictures, change table if you wish to. 6 stars out of 5!!

The place has a superb view, the wine tasting is nice and the lunch that comes with it as well, the guide we had (Olga) was excellent and we bought the amazing desert wine. Only thing that could be improved: the wine tour is not included in the tasting and needs to be ordered and paid extra. It's not much but it could the make the experience way better to start with the toue so when we taste the wine, we understand where it comes from...
