The food is good here but coffee is king. As they roast and supply specialty coffee for cafes nationwide, it was the best place to try a Barista Breakfast Coffee Flight. From their house blend to their single-origin espresso, filter, and batch brew, it's basically a brew for every personality, even those drinking almond decaf lattes right now. It's just a shame about the price.. add a 10% charge on weekends and you're looking at nearly $8 for a "normal" size latte. God help you if you are after an extra shit and/or speciality milks. Savoury being their forte, sweet is also covered thanks to those heavenly baked goods including this Twice Baked Apple Crumble Croissant from Penny for Pound. The menu is tight and again for the price, portions aren’t massive, so it’s not a cheap venture but the food is quality. The Shakshuka was as colourful as it was as flavourful and I loved that the Mushroom Meledy included stracciatella as the cheese (often hard to come by in brunch fare). And who doesn't love a perfect egg pop? Service could be better but it was busy so I won't hold it against them, seems unfortunate because otherwise this place is a vibe.

A lovely spot for coffee lovers. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, with high ceilings, an open layout, and plenty of natural light pouring in. It’s also the location where they roast their beans. The specialty coffee was elite!! Highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area. I’ll definitely be going back!

We come here about once a month, every month (pictures are Aug/July). They have some of the best coffee in Melbourne and they always have different food specials going. Service here is always amazing too. :-)

Very good coffee but not a great experience unfortunately. We like to visit roasters, not only for the coffee but for the experience also. Would have had some food and bought some retail beans but decided to just settle for coffee instead. Service looked tired, inefficient and indifferent. Asked the origin of some of the roasts and was told to go to the retail shelf to read the answer on the bags. Nothing printed on menus or retail bags. Must be a secret. Wonder if the staff are trained about coffee at all. None of them seemed to know the answer to such a simple and common question. Indignant look on the cashier's face when we requested a receipt 🤔. Felt pretty uncomfortable here, must say

Great spot to work from — plenty of comfortable seating and a nice atmosphere. There’s a good variety of food options to choose from. I tried the toastie and the soup of the day — both were quite decent. And the coffee? Easily the best part!

Rating: 2/5 – Only for the Coffee The coffee was the only redeeming part of our visit. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. The staff seemed more engaged in their own conversations than attending to customers — we had to wait quite a while just to place our order. We started with the banana bread, which was disappointing. It tasted stale and we ended up returning it. Next, we ordered the chicken schnitzel and egg shakshuka. The portion sizes were underwhelming for the price. While the schnitzel was decent, the shakshuka was undercooked, and the egg tasted off. When we raised this with the staff, they dismissed our concern rather than addressing it. Overall: Might be worth a visit for a quick coffee, but I wouldn’t recommend staying for a meal.

This coffee place is amazing, not to be missed. They brew their own coffee onsite. The only issue is that you need to know where to find the parking spots.. It took me around 5 mins to find that secret parking area. Good luck 🍀

Yelp
It's a little hidden gem of the Melbourne coffee scene, you won't find it on a main street, but tucked in right near the Carlton and United Brewery in Abbotsford. This is really a destination cafe because if you aren't into Vic Street shopping, then there is very little reason to venture down these streets, but oh my it's totally worth it. I came across the team here at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo in May 2012 and since I come every couple of weeks to pick up a fresh bag of their delicious beans, which are roasted next door. The team does an amazing job delivering the final product, in an industrial setting. They know their product and are passionate about it. Craig Simon, their roaster was a competitor in the 2012 Barista Cup - so they've got excellent pedigree. They've just added food so you can have snacks / lunch with a decent hit. So there you go - I've just spilled my secrets and shared my favourite place in Melbourne for coffee. #yourewelcome.
