We visited Big Bend for a workshop, and Venga quickly became our regular spot for editing sessions, relaxing, and grabbing some food. It’s a huge restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, plus some cool art, shirts, and camping gear for sale. The food here is amazing — I’m not kidding when I say I had their smashburger 4 out of the 5 days I stayed. It was absolutely delicious and a must-try! They also have desserts, drinks, and a lot of other great food options. The customer service here is top-notch — everyone was super friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m at Big Bend. Highly recommend if you’re anywhere near Terlingua!

Stopped by Venga Café in Terlingua for breakfast before heading into Big Bend, and it totally blew me away. From the outside, it looks like a quiet little café—but once inside, I was surprised by the incredible interior. It’s filled with colorful local art, creative decor, and even a small gift shop with unique finds. The food and coffee were great, but it’s the vibe that really made it special. It feels like a mix between a café, gallery, and community hangout. Highly recommend stopping here—it’s a must-visit spot if you’re passing through West Texas.

Google
This place is amazing. While on a motorcycle trip with myself and 7 buddies, we came across Venga somewhat unexpectedly while looking for a place to take a break. We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and the owner was very nice, coming over and talking to us about Venga. Lots of cool art and many cool things to buy! We didn’t get any food but the coffee was great!

Google
Such a fun place! We were looking for a breakfast spot that opened by 7AM for an early drive out of town. This place is light, airy, and very unique. The food was all delicious including the breakfast burrito, smoothie, and avocado toast. Coffee was good but there is no espresso or espresso drinks, which felt surprising given the vibe of the restaurant. There are also lots of unique gifts for sale.

Google
We hung out here every day and played cards, ate lunch, and drank coffees. What a perfect respite from the heat. This place is a vibe! The shrimp cocktail is to die for. It sold out every day we were there. Loved the shrimp tacos too. The staff was excellent!

Google
Receptionist at Chisos Mining Co. Motel recommended this place if I needed a pre-hike early breakfast. Didn't go during hike days because this is opposite to Big Bend NP. Did go on my way from Terlingua to El Paso via Lajitas. Food is okay - I had a hot chai latte and the avocado toast. Latter was a bit smaller than I had expected, and I also thought the blue cheese didn't go well with it. The place itself is beautiful, and there's a little dog named Tinker running around. The restroom was clean and spacious. There's a lot of interesting artwork inside, the seating is also quite varied, and there are souvenirs/gifts you can purchase. The staff was very friendly. Plenty of parking outside. Total including tips and taxes came to around 22 bucks.

Google
New coffee place in town. Impossible to resist and check it out. It’s open from 7 am till 5 pm. The building has a modern look, and has a pretty good capacity. Also offers outdoor seating. I ordered a hot cocoa was handed a “pouch” to mix with hot water. The cool thing about this place is the atmosphere, that why I’m rating a 5. The decor is cool, and there are art pieces for sale everywhere you look. I also liked the clothing they had for sale. I ended up with only one T shirt but not sure if I won’t be back for more. We came back in the morning to check out the food. Egg Benedict was delicious and the Ethiopian black coffee was great! They had a sign saying free mimosas on Saturdays and Sundays… my Fiancee had one and said that was good!

Google
We came on a Tuesday early afternoon when most restaurants were closed, but we were able to stop into Venga. The food was delicious after long hikes and the service was wonderful. I def recommend stopping by for lunch, a coffee for a nice drive back to camp, and even some adorable merch & plants! Would totally come back again!

Yelp
Very cool spot In Terlingua. I ordered the Fajita Burrito with a combo of chicken and beef. Added a side of rice and beans on the side. Insanely affordable prices for the quality and atmosphere! Food was very delicious paired with a refreshing Topo Chico. Food was very fast for us, maybe took 7-10 minutes to receive. Bought a cool art print to take back home in Houston. Tons of outdoor gear to choose from if you need something you forgot to bring with you. Cool Terlingua hats and t-shirts. Friendly staff. Cute pup named Tink that ran around the store bossing everyone around - loved it!

Yelp
Another kitchy wonderful place to sit on your saddle for awhile. My son and I spent a few days in the area for the Big Bend Ultras and struggled to find someplace open for breakfast on our way out of town on MLK, Jr's birthday. It was difficult to find someplace easy to get to, that was open and wasn't super crowded. I don't know if that was because it was a holiday, a Monday, or the off-season. After driving around and yelping for a while we chose Venga. The parking lot was pretty full, but with all the great reviews in Yelp, we thought this was our best bet. And, oh boy was it! We took a menu off a stack when we walked in and took our place in line at the counter. Dont know if they typically have wait staff during vacation season, but it looked like the line was the place to be. My son ordered a smash burger (everything on their menu is served all day long) and I ordered a breakfast burrito. We did have to wait about 30 minutes for our name to be called, but we weren't in a hurry (yet) so we filled our coffee mugs and grabbed a seat at a table. It was fun to look around the place, as there was a lot of art on the wall for sale by local artists, and of course some local Big Bend and Terlingua merch. When our name was called, we hooked ourselves up with one of their unique hot sauces that were in squeeze bottles by the coffee station, grabbed our food, and dug in. From the first bite - both of us got wide eyed and were like "Wow!" The size of the servings were generous but not so large that you couldn't finish in one sitting, and the taste was so unexpectedly wonderful considering you are in a small town in the middle of nowhere. It would compare to any 4-5 star joint in the big city. So good. What else is there to say, but, hit this place up when you are in the area. There might be a wait, but for good food in the desert, what else would you expect?

Yelp
This coffee shop and café is unique and very trendy. Though the indoor is beautiful the outdoor seating section is my favorite. Great spots to take in the view and sip coffee. No espresso based drinks are offered here but the coffee was great and they are located in such a convenient spot while we were visiting.

Yelp
Traveling thru and decided to stop in for some Java and this place was pretty cool. The artwork, the people and total vibe was spot on. We decided to just grab some coffee but will definitely stop in for some food next time. Coffee was really good and price was decent. Service seemed a little slow for just a few people in line, but they had many items on the menu and plenty to choose from. Will definitely stop by the next time we're in town and have more time.

Yelp
Wonderful food. Very reasonable prices for the area. Amazing interior with decorations and artwork for sale. Plenty of parking. Helpful and courteous staff. Lots of fun logo wear for sale. Interesting tables and chairs. Plenty of table room for big families or your group of friends as well.

Yelp
Super cute spot! Went in for lunch on a Thursday around 11 and it was pretty quiet. A few employees were hanging art to sell on the walls and watering plants. The reviews said the food takes forever to come out, but not for us. It was ready in about 15 min and was delicious! I had the beef fajita burrito with rice and beans on the side. It was perfect and kept me full all day. Lots of neat little things to look at and buy too!

Yelp
In town for the weekend with a friend to visit Big Bend. We came here for breakfast one morning. Wow -- is all I can say. Delicious food and awesome atmosphere/space. Absolutely worth a trip if you're in the area.
google avatar

Moira S.

Yelp
Came here 3 times throughout our trip and loved it every time! The decor and atmosphere, the views of the mountains, and the food!!! so glad they built this place! First time here but won't be our last. Definitely recommend if you're in Terlingua.

Yelp
Food was the best meal we had throughout our Marfa/Big Bend weekend. I had the chorizo omelette and my boyfriend had the chorizo breakfast burrito. Food prep does take a bit, so if you're in a hurry, order one of the grab & go items from the counter. The space itself is open, with plenty of tables & seating options indoors and outdoors. There are lots of both leashed & unleashed dogs that come in with customers which was awesome for us since we're dog lovers, but just a heads up if you're not. Definitely worth a stop on the way in/out of Big Bend!
google avatar

Teresa S.

Yelp
Great ambience, good food, a little bit of a wait but worth it. My family (4) went to Venga for a late breakfast. You order at the counter. There is ample indoor seating, a GORGEOUS view, inviting outdoor courtyard, and a good array of odd goods to appreciate while you wait. The coffee was delicious and we enjoyed all of our meals which were priced fairly. We did arrive around a rush hour of 10-11 AM and waited about 40 minutes for our food which was the only downside. We would still recommend and go back!

Yelp
Food - 4 Stars Service - 3 stars Atmosphere - 5 Stars We recently visited the Big Bend/West Texas area, and if you are familiar with that area of Texas, it is very isolated with very few choices for decent places to stay and eat (actually, there are quite a few restaurants and hotels/motels interspersed throughout the area, but most you wouldn't even consider entering.....primitive camping would be a better option, even without any gear). Anyway, this place appears to be a relative newcomer to the Terlingua area. It is located in a modern facility (very out of character for the area), is very clean, has a nice "store" for local art, and plenty of seating. I had the smoked salmon avocado toast, and my wife had the regular avocado toast, both of which were good. The food I saw on other people's tables also looked good. We didn't have an opportunity to try any of the other menu items, other than a chocolate muffin which kept calling out to me, and which did not disappoint! We did run in to some people we knew from our town (talk about a small world), and they had different items which they said were good. The only two complaints I had was that the portions were small, and the service (walk up counter). While the staff were friendly enough, they were understaffed for the time of year (week between Christmas and New Year) and extremely slow! I could see through the kitchen window and noticed that they had a LOT of orders backed up. That was evident in that it took close to 40 minutes for our food to come out. In all, our visit took a little over an hour and a half. It is fortunate that we weren't in a hurry, and that we had already paid for our food at the time of order. That being said, we would definitely eat there again.

Yelp
I could live here. This is an incredibly beautiful and well designed building that blends well with the Terlingua landscape. The menu is pretty basic (for now). I just grabbed a soda and sat at one of the long wood tables while admiring (and lusting after) this stunning interior. A colorful painting of Willie Nelson hangs on the thick concrete wall. Frankly, I don't care if Venga served only water. I'll be a return visitor if only to nerd out on the architecture.
google avatar

Yelp
We stopped in here for some coffee, ended up staying for breakfast and to just chill. The atmosphere is great -- if you love art they have lots to choose from and gear if you forgot something! We will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
This place was amazing. Some of the best rice I've ever had in my life. The beans were amazing also. It was affordable and medium portions. We had the steak fajita burrito and the Ruben sandwich which was both good. I'm use to Ruben's having more meat but for the price I won't complain. Very good and I'll be taking some of that good ole rice to go.

Eric A.

Yelp
One of the nicest spots in terilingua Food was fire cashier is nice and ambiance was relaxing. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
We ate breakfast at Venga every morning of our trip. The salmon avocado toast fresh, light, and super tasty! The staff were welcoming and the cafe is dog friendly. Good prices and in a convenient location.

Pam F.

Yelp
The food was very good, although my husband and son felt the smash burgers they ordered had too much sauce. My husband (who loves most things spicy), said his burger's sauce was too spicy. However, my grilled cheese was excellent. This place has a pleasant atmosphere with lots of seating. Love the big windows and the art on the walls. The young "ginger haired" lady who waited on us at the counter seemed like she wanted to be anywhere but there. No smile whatsoever. I'll never understand that. Life is too short and it costs you nothing to be friendly and give someone a smile. Maybe find a job where you don't have to interact with people continually???

Yelp
This is a DO NOT MISS spot! They have great gifts, art, t-shirts and more...to ensure you never forget your trip to west Texas. We stopped here every morning before entering the park! I LOVED their breakfast options and coffee! Their service was AMAZING! But best of all...their vibe inside is spectacular. A true oasis in the middle of this beautiful desert.

Yelp
The place is brand new, super clean and very spacious. It was aesthetically pleasing with several spots for pictures. They sell gifts and limited camping supplies! We got a shirt, tote and a small painting. They do not offer cocktails regularly. The young girl who took our order was very pleasant and charismatic! During our meal she told us about their free mimosas on the weekends so we actually went back a second time! The weekend we went was busy due to a wedding in town so the service was a little slower but nothing terrible The food is decent. Nothing spectacular but still tasty. Our first time we had the Tostadas and the Breakfast Burrito, both with chorizo. I preferred the tostadas. Second round we went back for the mimosas (tasty and free!), breakfast muffin and breakfast croissant. Both were good. Coming from Houston, we appreciated a beautiful place with good food at a GREAT price. Our meal total would've regularly been per person back home. Venga is top tier!!

Ruthie G.

Yelp
We walked in here with limited options and were so glad we did! The food was fabulous and brought us back to life after a challenging hike. The coffee was great too. The place had a great atmosphere and the art is cool. We walked out with a couple of crocheted cacti that were adorable for our kids.
google avatar

Lynn M.

Yelp
Clean and cute cafe. Got the rocket salad and this was delicious. The people here are also very nice too.
google avatar

Christa S.

Yelp
Newest addition to Terlingua! Stop in before your morning adventures for either a sit down or take away breakfast! I highly recommend the breakfast tacos! There's hot and iced coffee as well! They are still in the beginning stages, so be sure to allow for time with food prep, but overall worth the small wait! There's seating inside and outside. I highly recommend checking the place out! Pro tip: if you go before 8:00 it's definitely less crowded and easier to park! Great place to hangout and definitely will be back next time I'm in town!
google avatar

Allison F.

Yelp
We had breakfast here 3 times in our 4 day trip! It was delicious, clean, professional. I would not recommend if you're in a hurry, but it was wonderful to chill and enjoy meal and conversation with our family, plus new people we met there. We tried the blueberry pancakes, the breakfast burrito, salmon avocado toast, and avocado toast. The coffee is also delicious! It's sometimes hard to find good coffee on vacation but this was yummm! It's also so clear to see that the owner has an eye- such a cool and artistic space. We each bought tanks/T-shirts to take home as souvenirs! Loved it!
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The atmosphere is super relaxed. They have a lot of items for sale including t-shirts, art, mugs and cups, and outdoor gear. The service is better than most places we have frequented in Terlingua. The grilled cheese was excellent and the soup was perfect with it! The BLT was excellent with super fresh ingredients and a slightly toasted sourdough. We will be coming here A LOT in the future!

Aneesa I.

Yelp
Beautiful interior and vibes. I love the way different artists are displayed throughout the store, making it like an art museum in some ways. Came in for a quick drink and I think the drink menu could be developed more since it is a "cafe" and they only had drip coffee and iced coffee as well as tea bags. That being said, I got the iced coffee with vanilla syrup and it was delicious.
google avatar

Raquel G.

Yelp
Food and atmosphere were fabulous. It provided a cool place while grabbing something to eat. I had the Cuban panini with fries and hubby had the ham and Swiss panini with fries. Food was hot and very tasty. BYOB is a plus. They did have a variety of sodas, coffee and tea. Would definitely recommend if in the area.
google avatar

Donovan S.

Yelp
Man the breakfast here was absolutely delicious! We both got the breakfast plate and I asked for the grilled onions and peppers on my eggs and I am glad I did! Yummo! The potatoes were good, and the salsa and pico de gallo were great additions. The sausage was tasty and the here is really good, and great prices! Very eclectic art, cool place.
google avatar

Jay S.

Yelp
Excellent breakfasts fortwo mornings in a row. Coffee as well. Wish it would stay open for early supper.
google avatar

Jerry C.

Yelp
Good modern aesthetic, spacious concrete structure with ahoppinh for gear, pets allowed, great food we had the chorizo omelet and hummus abocado toast both were good. There was also some art on the walls which were great to look at. Would eat here again
google avatar

Mandy G.

Yelp
Favorite place to eat in Terlingua. We visited 4 times while in town. The tostada's were my favorite thing on the menu. I ordered one of each- Avocado with sumac onion and feta, and Pinto beans, chorizo, ham and bacon. What!? So good and refreshing after spending a day in the beautiful, toasty town of Terlingua. Try the breakfast menu as well. Burritos, smoothies, baked goods and specialty toasts all hit the spot. They also offer to-go options like sandwiches, salads and desserts to fuel you up before heading out for a day in the park. Great music, art and comfy lounge areas complete the experience at this unique, lovely place.
google avatar

Kristina G.

Yelp
Very cool place to visit! I've been following since it opened! I ate both breakfast and lunch here. So delicious. I forgot to take a picture of the breakfast but I had the egg sandwich. My friend got the egg plate and it was a great portion! The salsa is so delicious, make sure to ask for it! For lunch we had the fajitas! Very delicious, and tastes great with the salads!

Lisa W.

Yelp
This is such a cool place! We stopped here on our way out of Big Bend. I had the smash burger with fries and it was very tasty. The walls are all decorated with artwork, some for sale and some not. It was fun to look at. My only disappointment was they didn't sell beer, it's byob. But I had a Mexican coke and that was great after a long day hiking
google avatar

Annie B.

Yelp
Venga is an incredibly cute coffee shop near the ghost town. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced, my only complaint on the food is the portion is on the smaller size. Service was quick and friendly and there is even a little shop off to the side that you can buy art, clothes, and hiking/camping gear. There's plenty of cozy seats inside and outside and the outside is very dog friendly! My only real complaint is that for a coffee shop they don't offer a lot of coffee options. If you are a hot coffee drinker there's plenty for you here but if you prefer espresso or iced drinks you are stuck to buying canned options.
google avatar

Moneet S.

Yelp
unfortunately this place has extremely slow service. if you are planning a quick bite skip. Food is fine though
google avatar

Neptune's Q.

Yelp
Cool vibes, lots to look at. And if you had lots of time to hang out, would be great but we just stopped for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich to go..took 35 minutes and then all the drip coffee makers were empty..all 3. Breakfast sandwich was tasty though!

Les

Yelp
I had a delicious cheeseburger and fries. The fries were homestyle with crispy coatings. The burger was delightfully pink inside and came with all the trimmings you add your own mayo ketchup or mustard. My wife had the fajita burrito. The meat was very tender and extremely delicious. The food was outstanding our server had the most beautiful smile and was attentive to us yet not overbearing. You get refills on your iced tea which I like because I normally drink more than just what I'm served. The ambience is totally unusual. It is a huge store with clothing items for sale as well as Art by local artists, including our Server. Ndhusband hung on all the walls.
google avatar

Albert H.

Yelp
I really love this place the food is always excellent and ambience is wonderful my only issue is their drinks they have nothing fresh nothing healthy . Hopefully one day it will change till then I just get fresh OJ from Milagro and take it with me to eat the wonderful food at venga....

Lauryn M.

Yelp
The food is decent and they're usually open when I'm here, but just thought it was odd no Hispanic/Latino artists were displayed despite being called "Venga"

Albert W.

Yelp
Had the salmon on avocado and toast excellent! Also, the fajitas are to die for More than adequate Portions
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to eating here. The place has great atmosphere but the staff and especially the cook have no clue. I received my burger and it was a nice presentation. I bit in and found the burger was way over cooked. Then I could taste and felt the salt that they had put on thick. This burger was so sub par and obviously the cook has no business on a grill! It would be nice if they supplied ice for the drinks that are basically self serve. The Mexican Coke was just a little colder than room temp and would have been great to have a glass of ice to pour it into.
google avatar

Morty M.

Yelp
The man behind the counter was a little... bitchy.... but the food was great. We both enjoyed our meals and really liked the coffees. The atmosphere was quite nice also. Can't let one cashier ruin the rest of the experience. I'd go back. He didn't seem like he was going to last long anyways.
google avatar

Liz L.

Yelp
Love, loooove this place! The dog found it first on our morning walk from El Dorado Hotel so I knew it was pet-friendly. They have a huge patio with lots of different seating options and a PA system so you know when your order is ready. The inside is beautifully decorated with plants, local art for sale and tables with chairs or couches for lounging. Be patient, the food takes a minute, but we had the breakfast burrito, yogurt parfait, smoothie (made to order), pancakes, and the breakfast plate - all were absolutely delicious, we went back several times during our stay.
google avatar

W C.

Yelp
We stopped here for a late lunch/early dinner on New Year's Day after fleeing from the Starlight Theatre area with the crowds of crazies with their unleashed dogs. We forewarned that there are also idiots with unleashed dogs here as well (nobody on staff says anything to them!) but far fewer. The place looks promising: it's a nice, open space with lots of tables and seating in that sort of new modern aesthetic. The temperature is nice but we can imagine that in the summer you'd get scorched being near one of the massive open windows. Unfortunately, many of the tables were filthy and uncleared. They were giving out courtesy 2024 mimosas, which was a nice touch, and we ordered a burger and beef burrito at the register. (They were out of quinoa, so we couldn't put in the bowl, which was what we originally wanted.) 20 minutes go by, 30 minutes go by, and the restaurant is not that busy, so we go up to ask about our order and are informed that it's not ready, and not only that, but he can't communicate with the folks working in the kitchen. Wait what? So, you're saying your FOH and BOH literally cannot communicate with each other? Great business model! Food finally comes out after 45 minutes, and of course everything always tastes worse when you're pissed off, which is exactly what happened here. The burger was good but it had the thickest slices of red onion that you have ever seen (ugh, no thank you). The beef in the burrito was chewy but the rest of it was fine except for that fact that it wasn't much of a burrito: just everything thrown in the tortilla and rolled so all the contents spilled out from the bottom. Fun! Honestly, this place could be a four-star establishment with some better management in place. The holidays are known to be a busy season around Big Bend, so plan to staff accordingly if you're going to open your establishment. Make sure violent-looking dogs aren't roaming around freely on your property as well--because it's ILLEGAL!! Two stars for now.
google avatar

Brittany H.

Yelp
We went into Venga just for coffee but we are so glad we each got a breakfast burrito! The burrito was very tasty and filling, which was perfect to sustain us on our hike. We got it with sausage and my partner said the only thing that would have made hers better is if it had green chilis added in, otherwise our burritos were amazing! The building is beautiful, ambiance is great! It took a little while for us to get our order but it was well worth the wait and gave us a chance to sip on our coffees and check out the place. I cannot wait for my next trip to the area to try some other items out from Venga, we will definitely be coming back!

Meaghan L.

Yelp
Very cool atmosphere and all you can drink/free mimosas on Saturdays and Sundays! Food was good but it took about an hour and a half to get our food - busy time during lunch hours.
google avatar

Rachel C.

Yelp
Weird. I ordered a salad, but they didn't give it to me, saying they forgot Then, I noticed on the menu that my sandwich came with a salad. I asked about that, and they said, even though the menu says otherwise , my sandwich wasnt "eligible " to come with a salad. So, no salad for me. Sigh.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
Surprisingly good. Seems out of place in Terlingua. Kinda fancy for this laid back community. Had the breakfast croissant with chorizo. It was delicious.

Ford W.

Yelp
Come here if you want to wait over an hour for some very average food. Cause we did on multiple occasions. Won't be returning!

Jim M.

Yelp
Buying food for 13 on short notice can be difficult at best! They turned it out 5 times in three days with zero issues. Great food and wonderful service!
