We recently visited the Big Bend/West Texas area, and if you are familiar with that area of Texas, it is very isolated with very few choices for decent places to stay and eat (actually, there are quite a few restaurants and hotels/motels interspersed throughout the area, but most you wouldn't even consider entering.....primitive camping would be a better option, even without any gear). Anyway, this place appears to be a relative newcomer to the Terlingua area. It is located in a modern facility (very out of character for the area), is very clean, has a nice "store" for local art, and plenty of seating. I had the smoked salmon avocado toast, and my wife had the regular avocado toast, both of which were good. The food I saw on other people's tables also looked good. We didn't have an opportunity to try any of the other menu items, other than a chocolate muffin which kept calling out to me, and which did not disappoint! We did run in to some people we knew from our town (talk about a small world), and they had different items which they said were good. The only two complaints I had was that the portions were small, and the service (walk up counter). While the staff were friendly enough, they were understaffed for the time of year (week between Christmas and New Year) and extremely slow! I could see through the kitchen window and noticed that they had a LOT of orders backed up. That was evident in that it took close to 40 minutes for our food to come out. In all, our visit took a little over an hour and a half. It is fortunate that we weren't in a hurry, and that we had already paid for our food at the time of order. That being said, we would definitely eat there again.
