A bit overpriced but very solid sandwiches. I got the Italian house special sandwich, which I highly recommend -- the soup bowl was just okay by comparison. Otherwise the service was pretty fast, and the restaurant has a nice view of the waterfront.

My wife and I try a lot of cheese boards all over the world - this was the best ever BY FAR. The clam chowder bread bowl was out of this world! Highly recommend!

Good place to get tomato soup to warm up by the waters in Sausalito. I got the tomato soup cup (price: $8.95, including tax (9.25%): $9.78) and it was very delicious. They added for some courteous and cheese on top which was a nice touch. This tomato soup is not as creamy as other ones I’ve had. It’s more a vegetable soup broth consistency, but it’s just as enjoyable. I came in on a Saturday in November and there wasn’t any line to order, so I was able to order quickly and my food came out shortly after. Since there wasn’t that many people I managed to get a table and had a nice view of the Sausalito waters! The inside feels like a speciality Italian grocery store. It reminds me of another Italian grocery/sandwich shop I used to visit and it feels very cozy. They have a counter where you can order food like sandwiches, salads, and soups. They have many tables inside as well as outside. Parking: It was a bit difficult to find parking in Sausalito downtown, since many of the lots were full. We managed to get a spot after another car pulled out. It was a paid lot (through ParkMobile I believe)

Food was really good. Had the Italian sandwich, pesto pasta a bagel and a roast beef sandwich. The outside seating has a fantastic view of the bay.

We had the avocado, tri and bbq sandwiches. Perfect light lunch to take on our way to Muir woods. The places is cute with amazing service. Highly recommend.

Beautiful food in a beautiful place. I had the San Francisco club and chips with guacamole. My partner had the BBQ Chicken hot sandwich. Lovely outdoor seating area. Will be back.

Venice Gourmet Delicatessen in Sausalito is the kind of spot that feels like it’s been plucked straight out of a European postcard. Picture this: the sun glinting off the bay, a quirky little storefront with retro vibes, and inside, a spread so colorful it practically winks at you. This deli is like the best friend who always knows exactly what you need for lunch—and throws in a view just because. Walk through the doors, and you’re hit with a smorgasbord of goodies that scream “eat me.” Shrimp-topped salads piled high with avocado, vibrant bowls of pasta, artichokes, olives, and all the deli delights your heart could desire. It’s a feast for the eyes as much as the taste buds, with each plate looking like it’s auditioning for a magazine spread. But Venice Gourmet is more than just a meal; it’s a treasure trove of gourmet goodies too. Need an artisanal snack for later? Or a quirky sauce that’ll make you look like you actually know how to cook? They’ve got you covered, with shelves brimming with everything from local treats to international finds. And don’t even get me started on the copper pots and vintage touches—they’re like little winks to the past, adding to the deli’s irresistible charm. So, if you’re after a bite with a side of bay views and a hefty helping of charm, this is your spot. Venice Gourmet isn’t just a deli; it’s a whole vibe. Grab a sandwich, soak in the scenery, and let yourself get lost in the laid-back, delicious magic of Sausalito.

Yelp
The food is delicious and the atmosphere is chilled and it is all fairly priced. The view is stunning and this place is such a hidden gem. Not so hidden as it is on the Main Street but not as bougie as the rest of Sausalito. Food with soul.

Yelp
Food quality is top notch but service is spotty. Chinese Chicken salad Meat is tender and fresh, but overall too saucy. Chicken tastes fresh and savory. San Francisco Club Roast beef, cheddar, lettuce, red onion, tomato on choice of bread. Amazingly (because it doesn't happen often in a deli like this) the beef is medium rare with hefty portion size. Mozz Tomato salad This is one of my favorite combo side dishes - they made theirs fresh, juicy and super delicious. Served nice and chilled. On a hot day, that's important because my main concern is whether they keep it cool/refrigerated. Service is slow, spotty and disorganized. After waiting under the "Order Here" sign for a good 5 minutes, one of their staff told me I have to order from the side cashier, where there were already three people In line. Then they overcharged me an extra side dish that I did not order. Then later on, I saw them taking orders under the "Order Here" sign again. Sigh. Definitely never a good start to an experience you're hoping to be a pleasant one. Fortunately, food quality is high enough to keep the rating above average. That's all...

Yelp
I decided to get lunch here while working in Sausalito. The ladies behind the counter were nice and the service was super quick. Many options for vegetarian folks and meat eaters alike. They put a twist on their sandwiches that makes them really special. Sandwich tasted fresh, the ingredients really spoke for themselves. Alittle more expensive than usual for me but worth trying atleast once. There's also alittle market inside full of wine, candy, cold drinks and more. Worth a stop in if you find yourself in the area.

Yelp
Ordering system is slightly disorganized (you essentially walk up to the counter, staff ignore you, you think you're in the wrong place, then someone acknowledges you to redirect you to the ordering counter but doesn't take your order), but the food is great. I got a clam chowder cup (they were out of bread bowls unfortunately), but it was delicious and perfect for a cold rainy day: thick, piping hot, and super savory. Would definitely come again to try their sandwiches! Appreciate that they have a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating too, and the casual atmosphere means a table is bound to clear out by the time you're done ordering and pick up your food.

Yelp
This place was just what we needed to recharge after a beautiful hike. The restaurant was lively and I like how there is fresh cuts of meat in the window. I ordered an Italian House Sandwich on Dutch Crunch bread it was delicious. I admire how the bread has a just the right amount of thickness to absorb the layer sauce in each bite. The service was quick and easy with an order in one place and pay at the next station.

Yelp
While enjoying an afternoon is Sausalito, we stumbled upon the Venice Gourmet. It is nothing fancy on the interior, but the food was great. There were a variety of sandwiches and other items to choose from. You order at the counter, and then there are a few tables to sit at, or you can take lunch to go. We dined in, and very much enjoyed our sandwiches. I had the California club, and my daughter had pastrami and Swiss. The sandwiches were large and very satisfying. The freshly baked sourdough bread was fantastic!
google avatar

Yelp
Venice Gourmet hit the spot in more ways than one. First, the views of the bay are unbeatable from the deli's windows. This is some primo real estate! Second, the food is fresh. My party ordered both sandwiches and salads, and all were content with the food quality. Bonus for my garden salad: it also came with a generous scoop of the orzo salad. No complaints here!

Yelp
Couldn't decide what to eat in Sausalito, given the limited dining options in this picturesque seaside town, so I dropped in for a cup of clam chowder. It's essentially an Italian market selling grocery and sandwiches...and clam chowder (not very Italian LOL). Also not very Italian were the Spanish-speaking staff and the loud Latin music blasting from the speakers (I was hoping for some Venetian gondola songs played on a mandolin.) The clam chowder was not bad, a bit too watery for my liking. The ocean view was amazing. Old Fisherman Grotto in Monterey still has my vote for the best clam chowder.

Yelp
I had a sandwich pastrami on French bread Tossed with veggies whoooooo that was amazing sandwich will come back again if we're at Sunday Francisco Bay Area There are clean and there customer service was amazing

Yelp
I had one amazing sandwich here yesterday. BBQ Tri-tip: 5/5. Had this on a French roll. Fricken great. The meat was lean and cooked perfectly, with great flavor. Add cheese and some roasted peppers and I was savoring each bite. A real flavor masterpiece. Cannot wait to return.

Yelp
Absolute best pizza slices to enjoy while walking along Bridgeway! Crust is crispy, sausage is rustic and flavorful. Just a delightful surprise to randomly walk into a tiny area alongside the main store. Service is fast, friendly and thoughtful--they even cut the slice in half for us to share. Will crave this again when we're in the area! Highly recommend.

Yelp
We stopped by the smaller pizzeria side of this business since the deli/store was too crowded. My husband just wanted drinks, and my son and I couldn't resist the sliced pepperoni pizza. The pizza slices were huge and filled a medium sized to-go box. The pepperoni was greasy. Tasty though, with perfectly crispy thin dough. 2 huge slices, 2 canned sodas, and a small tip came out to $21. We thought it would cost more since it's in such a busy touristy spot. The cashier didn't greet us, just talked to someone away from the register for a few minutes. He didn't smile or say a word besides the total. Now I wish I lowered the tip even more. I would've given 4 stars if they had better service.

Yelp
Zero stars! Absolutely heinous service. 5 people behind the counter at 2pm, they would not take orders, just frantic making of sandwiches so far back ordered. Unbelievable!!! People walked out of the restaurant at a rate! Cherry on top? No public restrooms for customers! Needs to get closed down.. just awful!!

Yelp
After visiting the bridge, we decided to continue our bike ride to Sausalito. It's such a cute spot with so many places to eat and this place seemed pretty popular so we decided to give it a go. We locked our bikes a little ways down the street and headed to the deli. We ordered at the counter and they gave us a number. We walked around the shop to look at all the fun snacks, paid at the side counter, and then waited a few more minutes for our sandwiches. There are a few tables inside but we lucked out and grabbed one of the tables outside. I tried the Sausalito turkey sandwich on a sourdough roll which hit the spot. Fresh and filling. Perfect fuel for the bike ride back to San Francisco.

Yelp
I had a Latte and bagel and lox and within 2 blocks after finishing I vomited it all up. The lox must have been bad. Would not recommend this place! Since it had a new license in the window I assume it recently opened. Awful!!!!!

Yelp
Super disappointed. The bread was dry... snd when I opened the sandwich I knew why.. they didn't even cover the bread with mustard.. it looks like a 3 year old made it. It was unbalanced, the bread tasted 1 day old and they forgot ingredients. Super disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
We had two bowls of clam chowder. Needed a little bit of bread but not the amount in a bread bowl, asked for some bread, and got a sizable amount of sourdough warm toasted drizzled wish olive oil for $1.50 Super chill place for a yummy lunch
google avatar

Miranda D.

Yelp
Food was amazing and I would definitely come back.. however I give it four stars because the bread for my bread bowl was rock solid.. bite into it the wrong way and your gums will start bleeding. The clam chowder itself was just okay. Next time, I'll stick with a sandwich. Seating is very scarce when busy so plan to take it to go!

Peter Y.

Yelp
Bought two slices of pizza. One was overcooked on top, the other burnt on bottom crust. Inside Tables were all empty when we arrived but also all unclean. Even after being served pizza, not served napkins, had to request. If pizza had been cooked properly might have been pretty good, hence giving 2 stars but that's being generous, considering other things as well. Advice is, if you're buying slices, don't judge just by the top... ask to check bottom of pizza as well before paying.

Yelp
Overall food was amazing! My Caprese sandwich was really yummy and I enjoyed it, although I wish there was more balsamic vinegar added -- but overall enjoyable. I would have given this place 5 stars but had to knock it down one as their cheese board was not advertised on the overhead menu as only one cheese with fruits, but cheese, meat & in their words "other delicacies". The plating was wonderful, it was not enough to excuse the way the board was marketed. As a consumer, I feel as the board should be changed as me and my friend who had shared it acknowledged that there board said there was Brie and Swiss cheese available, which could easily be added to the board instead of it being filled with fruits and only having cheddar cheese to balance out with the meat presented. I enjoy the overall interior and selection of European and American snacks being sold within the establishment and thought it was terrific how diverse the music within the Deli was. One moment, it would be island music, and another would be a completely different genre. It made eating indoors instead of outside in the beautiful sun next to the Bay a worthy experience. I hope the description of the Cheese board gets updated! It was corrected to "cheese and fruit board" on Yelp, but it's still misleading because there was a variety of meat and fruits, but only one type of cheese! Also, I loved how the cashier offered to open customers bottles when purchasing a bottle sealed drink, made it efficient for customers who don't carry one!

Yelp
Great place to grab a sandwich and sit outside by the water. All the staff here is super nice and attentive, and the sandwiches are delicious! Will definitely return again!

Yelp
I got a sandwich here once Best sandwich i've ever had, I cant lie I hate I don't live near because of how good it was but I'll definitely visit again for the sandwich Service was great and the ambiance was amazing

Yelp
Our Muir Woods tour bus stopped in Sausalito on our way back and many of us went to this deli for a late lunch. My brother and I split the Italian special and the pesto chicken. Both were great but the standout was the pesto chicken! I could eat this every day, it was that good. The bread that they used was also some of the best sourdough I've ever had! Easy to order inside and then take your sandwiches outside to eat by the water, they have plenty of tables and there are benches by the waterfront too.

Tomas V.

Yelp
Clearly lower quality deli meats than what's you'd expect from a "gourmet" restaurant. Some of the staff wasn't too knowledgeable about menu. Pretty immature management as well.
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
For the price it's great portioned sandwiches with a lot of variety for dietary needs (I am a vegetarian). The store in itself is a bit chaotic. You order in one lane and pick up and pay in another. They sell wine, and drinks in many different areas throughout the place, it's a bit confusing. There is also a gift store. Beware, no bathrooms -- at a restaurant?! Quick service, but business needs refining.

Freedy H.

Yelp
Sandwiches were fine and service quick. We didn't enjoy our sandwiches because we all got them on the Dutch Crunch roll. Extremely hard and dry...probably sitting out since Friday. The lesson is...if you go here for sandwiches on a Sunday, don't get them on the Dutch crunch roll.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid deli/pizzeria + great for large groups (came here with 10+ people!) even on a busy Saturday. The staff was very kind and automatically began setting up tables for my group despite us not even asking yet :) Customer service is a solid 5/5. My group got the Avocado club, California club, San Francisco club, and hot marinated chicken and provolone sandwiches. Overall, sandwiches themselves are a decent 3.5-4/5 stars! Great portion sizes per most sandwich places. The fruitier/more veggie sandwiches (Avocado club/California Club), were very refreshing and had a solid amount of veggie ratio. Hot marinated chicken pastrami on dutch crunch came out great! Warm but not super hot and super filling. The dutch crunch was a lot tougher than I thought (compared to Ikes) and I will admittedly say I do like Ikes a bit better. Overall, great for large groups and would come back to too :) Recommend if you're in the area!

Spi B.

Yelp
Horrible experience when ordering a clam chowder bread bowl. Seems the order kept getting pushed to the back of the orders. With me going to the counter a couple of times to request attention. When the order was handed to me and my friend began to eat, she scalded the inside of her mouth due to the soup being extremely too hot. I totally feel this was intentional. I always post positive comments. Never have we experienced anything like this. I know the girl knows if asked as it was last week. She was a toot when she called out the number and I regret now telling her zi know it wasn't her fault for the long delay. Little did I know this soup would cause harm to my friend
google avatar

Robert R.

Yelp
We had the best time ever at this little gem, not only did they have the best ambience with a decor of different wines to select but the food was amazing! I had the club house on Dutch and i have to say it was the best sandwich ever. The service was also amazing, we were greeted upon entry and the servers made sure we were taken care of. They hands down made the experience perfect we thank you
google avatar

Fran Q.

Yelp
Such yummy and big sandwiches. Definitely worth the price. We got the hot sandwhiches and they were so warm after being out in the cold. Plenty of out door and indoor setting. Got the pastrami and Swiss and California club.
google avatar

Kate D.

Yelp
Delicious sandwich. I am obsessed with the dutch crunch bread. The people behind the counter were so nice and made our sandwiches quickly. Loved the essence of this sandwich shop. I recommend to anyone who is visiting Sausalito. The location is beautiful.
google avatar

steph c.

Yelp
I was so looking forward to writing a good review, but they messed up our order in ways I just don't understand. We asked for Dutch crunch and got plain. Only 2 out of 3 sandwiches were actually the right order. Also, no bathroom available to customers.

Kristina Y.

Yelp
The sandwich was extremely bland, lacking any real flavor. There was barely any mayonnaise, making it dry and unappetizing. To top it off, they forgot to include the cheese. Moreover, the staff seemed uninterested and unwilling to be there.
google avatar

AJ S.

Yelp
A handful of vegetarian options and plenty for meat eaters. Right across from the water, great spot. They have items available to purchase from the deli as well, including things like olives, marinated mushrooms, etc. Very easy to order online and pickup. Pros: Well located You can order online Timely with having your online order ready A handful of vegetarian options Deli/market style (plenty to purchase Made some customizations with no issues Cons: Parking can be difficult Dutch crunch wasn't my favorite A bit pricy ($10.95), but the sandwiches are huge
google avatar

Angel L.

Yelp
Beautiful views to enjoy a sandwich lunch on a nice day. I've only had their sandwiches takeout so this was my first time dining at their tables. An employee had us order before seating & we felt very rushed since she gave us only about a couple minutes of time to look at the menu. She asked us to order twice in those few minutes. The Dutch crunch tasted more crunchy and fresh the first time I came here; nevertheless, the chicken was still super juicy and tender. My iced americano was pretty watered down & I wasn't offered water initially because I "have coffee" (as words of the employee). Prices may have gone up because it was around $13 - I think it was around $11 before?
google avatar

Stacey B.

Yelp
The sandwich was delicious and made fresh on the spot. And you really can't beat the view. I wish they had a half sandwich option, so if you're like me and you can't sit down and eat an entire deli sandwich, make sure to split it with somebody! They also have a nice selection of souvenirs and snacks.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow, what an amazing space. Updated, but yet kept all of the old world charm of the deli. I just had a club sandwich, which was executed to perfection !! Can't wait to return and try one of the beautiful salads they had in the window Easy parking in the median to pick up my sandwich, no hassles -

Yo Y.

Yelp
We ordered pizza,Mediterranean and ham sandwiches. They are really hard and dry. But the view is spectacular.

Yelp
I had an Italian sub and my wife had the hot pastrami. Both 5 star sandwiches. The salami on the Italian was the best part to me. It's flavored and cut just right. The view of SF bay here is awesome. The restaurant also sells soups, sides and cookies.

Meagan O.

Yelp
Really nice deli with extraordinary views of the bay. Ordered the clam chowder in a bread bowl. It was PIPING hot a yummy.
google avatar

Fetima W.

Yelp
I came here for a quick lunch on a guided tour. The city of Sausalito is a cute and charming. Venice Gourmet is this old school style Italian market that has incredible views of SF. Their menu has an array of different items ranging from cold cut sandwiches to hot sandwiches. Pizza, salads and other items. The service was quick and our waitress was very eager to serve our large party. She did a wonderful job serving us. My sandwich was lovely and the ingredients were fresh. I chose French bread and it was delicious. I'm not a fan of sourdough bread but the French bread was a perfect choice for my sandwich.
google avatar

Allegra T.

Yelp
The sandwiches are always really great. The staff is kinda cold and they also didn't open on time which was a little inconvenient.
google avatar

Zandra U.

Yelp
They took our order really quickly very hospitable people. Didn't have to wait long so you order your food you go pay for it and then you wait for them to call you and then Wala you eat. The view is fantastic. Inside of the store is beautiful the food was not as flavorful as I thought, but overall, it was still good, and basically a little pricey, but you're paying to sit and see the view while you eat. I definitely recommend coming to Sausalito.

Yelp
Found this place on yelp for lunch. After seeing how crowded all the restaurants were, I was happy to find this little gem. Walked in, read over the menu, ordered, paid, grabbed our food, found a spot across the street along the water and enjoyed our delicious sandwiches. Hubby and I ordered: Spicy Italian: 4/5 i asked for the extra spicy sauce. Wish it had a bit more of a kick to it. Nevertheless it was tasty. The Dutch crunch was yummy too. Veggie sandwich on sourdough: 5/5 delicious, everything about it was yummy. Dolmas: 4/5 just a bit under $2 each, tasty and seemed fresh. Most of the sandwiches were about $10 each. Friends got the roast beef which looked amazing. Good fast service. Highly recommend this place to grab food and go. Sit along the water and enjoy the beautiful view. Make sure you pack a light sweater as it gets windy and cold. Also the seagulls are very friendly and hungry so beware!

Yelp
Two words: AVOCADO CLUB You will not be disappointed if you walk into Venice gourmet! With its beautiful views of the city from the stunning Sausalito waters, you feel like you are at an old school Italian marketplace in Venice itself (and I haven't even been there). I found this spot after taking a break on the a bike ride from San Francisco to Sausalito. On an adventure like this on such a nice day, all I wanted to do was grab a nice sandwich and a bottle of wine and sit by the rocks by the water and soak in all the views. Venice deli provided me all that and more with their excellent service and friendly staff. Not only is the view from their outdoor seating amazing, but their food was incredible. The deli is stocked with freshly made sandwiches, pizzas, and salads. Racks of wines, both chilled and not chilled lined the store and snacks like chips, chocolate, cheeses, and anything to compliment your meal could be found on the other side. Service is quick and staff is accommodating! An absolute MUST is the avocado club sandwich which is hands down the best sandwich I've ever had. The combination of sliced avocado, Brie cheese, green apple, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and mayo on a Dutch crunch gave the most refreshing flavor and I am a little obsessed with it (just look at my photo shoot of the sandwich). My friends will tell you how much I rave about this place but whenever I take one of them here, they have never been disappointed. This was the first time I went to the shop and have been back every time I have gone to Sausalito since. I have nothing but good things to say about this place and hope that it's charm finds other people to love it as much as me.

Yelp
The sandwiches are huge and delicious. The latte was delish. The view is great, feels like you are in Europe. Service was great. Not a lot of seats but people come and go quickly. I got Italian sandwich and hubby got pastrami. Both were very good. I am not a huge fan of Italian meats but this was very fresh and good bread with fresh veggies. Good quality. Ambiance is quaint and relaxed.
