Visitors can explore the art gallery with a common entry ticket of Rs. 20, making it an accessible destination for history buffs and art lovers alike. The complex's central location near Cubbon Park ensures easy access via public transport, with ample parking available for those arriving by car. The Venkatappa Art Gallery was developed in 1975 and is named after among Karnataka’s most renowned artists, K. Venkatappa. The gallery was created to honor his contributions and to act as a repository for his works along with those of other prominent Indian musicians. Art enthusiasts will find themselves enchanted by the artistic events hosted at the Venkatappa Art Gallery, including exhibitions, workshops, and interactive sessions that celebrate local talent and foster creative discussions. Other artists featured along with him are M. F. Hussain, Vasudev, Hariram, Rekha Rao, Yusuf Arakkal and N.S. Bendre. The second floor is solely dedicated to the paintings of K. K. Hebbar. The rich collection showcased in the gallery attracts not just art and history buffs but people from all over India day in and day out. I got an opportunity to have books on Vijaynagara(Hampi), Mysuru Dasara, Melukote, Bidar, Bidapur, Banvasi, Kittur, Talakadu, Balligave published from the department of archeology, musuems and heritage under the Karnataka state government

This recently renovated art space shows wonderful contemporary art of different styles and techniques in the ground floor. The entry fee is 25 INR and it is highly recommended to visit it. Another section of the art gallery is dedicated to the work of its namesake, the famous 20th century painter Kalatapaswi Krishnappa Venkatappa. He meticulously replicated the ancient murals in the UNESCO World Heritage site Ajanta Caves in order to preserve them for future generations. Furthermore, he was a pioneer in landscape art, showing the tranquil beauty of Ooty and Kodaikanal. A third section is showing the artwork of K. K. Hebbar, who's works are regarded as highly influential in Indian art history. What a cultural highlight situated within an artificial island and surrounded by the lovely old trees of Cubbon Park!

Amazing we'll curated place. Loved seeing the 70+ and 100+ year old sketches and water color paintings. Amazed by how vibrant the colors still are and how the colors were made. Second time I've been here in 3 months and still loved it.

The galleries are well-lit and thoughtfully arranged, making it easy to appreciate every piece. The ambience is inviting, the facilities have been greatly improved, and the entry fee is very reasonable. Located near Cubbon Park, it’s a perfect spot for art lovers and anyone interested in exploring the cultural and historical essence of Bengaluru. A must-visit for a delightful and enriching experience!

Newly renovated . I don't see any extraordinary painting to attract. Entry ticket 50 rs. Gallery is neat. Not only venkatappa some other eminent artists painting are there. While our visit lift was under maintenance.

The Venkatappa Art Gallery has been given a fresh lease of life with its reopening, and the revamped interiors add to the charm of the exhibits. The lower level contains multiple halls for changing shows—during my visit, some were unoccupied, while one displayed Rumale’s work. Moving up, the first floor presents Venkatappa’s creations and personal artefacts, honoring his legacy. The upper floor holds K.K. Hebbar’s drawings and paintings, which, to me, stood out as the most remarkable part of the collection
