Its a must visit place, if you’re interested in a mix of history, nature, and panoramic views. Located in the lush hills of Mahe, the site offers a fascinating glimpse into Seychelles’ colonial past.
It was once a school for liberated slave children in the 19th century, and you can still see the remnants of the stone foundations and informative plaques detailing its significance.
After a short and pleasant hike through the surrounding forest (nothing too strenuous), we reached a viewpoint that absolutely took our breath away. From there, you get sweeping views over the west coast of Mahe, with endless ocean stretching out in front of you and lush greenery all around.
It’s a quiet, reflective place, perfect for those who enjoy a bit of history and nature combined. The only reason for not giving it five stars is that some parts of the site could use a bit more maintenance and signage, but overall, it’s well worth the visit.
