"Dive deep into island lassitude with afternoon tea at the Moana Surfrider, the Victorian-era hotel nicknamed “The First Lady of Waikīkī.” Grab an open-air table and sample one of six locally crafted teas, ranging from Lemon Rooibos to Moana Sunset, a mix of sweet mango and tangy ohelo berries. The $45 classic service includes savories like duck prosciutto, "furikake" salmon, and a caramel cream puff with black sea salt. Not to mention green tea sorbet and a curd made from lilikoi (passionfruit) and Devonshire cream. Kick things up a bitwith a nonalcoholic pomegranate fizz or a Poema sparkling brut rosé!"

Daily continental breakfast was a great addition to our Moana Surfrider reservation. Come early for prime seating on the charming porch up close to the surf and next to the sprawling great banyan tree. Fresh cut fruits, juices, croissant, danish, and unending coffee with each Waikiki sunrise. Or sub in gluten free toast, if desired. Accommodating service never fails.

Afternoon tea at the veranda is truly a beautiful experience. There are several tea options, the staff is incredibly kind and attentive, the food and tea is great quality, and overall the location is stunning. Additionally, valet parking is complementary (for up to 4 hours I believe) with validation. The downside…it’s a bit pricey and as a savory girlie, there are more sweet options than savory on the Moana classic tea set. Overall, it was beautiful experience with my daughter and would recommend as a special occasion outing.

I recommend dining at Veranda at Moana Surfrider if you want to enjoy a great view of Waikiki while having a good meal. They offer brunch on weekends and Afternoon Tea on weekend afternoons. In the evening, you can enjoy live music at the Beach Bar while sipping a drink to the sound of the Waikiki waves. And their Poke Nachos are absolutely amazing.

We visited early with the 6am crowd since we are normally on East Coast time. The service we received on the outside patio was impeccable. Jerry and Scott were all stars. We chose the breakfast buffet, which included made to order pancakes, waffles, and omelets. 1. Blueberry orange granola pancakes - these were very tasty. (5/5 🌟) 2. Mochiko waffles - I really enjoyed these. The crisp texture on the outside with the fluffy middle was perfect. (5/5 🌟) 3. Overall, the buffet had quality items with local favorites. The juice bar was great with a variety of fresh juices to choose from. The atmosphere and view were unbeatable.

The Moana Surfrider is the best place for afternoon tea. The setting on the veranda, overlooking the beach, is so beautiful. Service is always accommodating, though occasionally slow to check up on you. But each time I’ve gone to celebrate a birthday, they’d been generous with treats. I love that there are many options for teas, including sets specifically for keiki, those with dietary restrictions, or if you want a burger to go along with your dainty desserts. The “Duke” set, which comes with a burger, fries, and onion rings in place of savory sandwiches, is only a few dollars more than the regular afternoon tea set, so I feel this is a great deal for those who may be hungrier. The burger itself is a great size, and comes with pipikaula, and I always end up eating only half. Most recently when I dined, they gave me extras of each sweet! I was so delighted. Flavors of the sweets do change, but menu typically includes a macaron, cream puff, tart, and a roll cake. Every sweet I’d tried was so good. This place offers Kamaaina discount. They also offer free valet when dining. This is pricey, but well worth the food, service, and ambience.

Service is definitely on point. Food was good. We got the Royal Tea Package. Really enjoyed the lobster chowder and Caesar was refreshing. The teas are a nice quality tea. We did the Earl Grey and Darjeeling, both are full of flavor. One mistep, I don't know why they use the metal tea pots, you can taste it in the tea. Porcelain or glass is the way to go. Outside beautiful view, but I think some fans or some misters are needed for the no breeze days.

I shouldn't have to be the one informing the waiter that there is a dead bird on the floor. Did they not clean the place before seating us? Also staff was no help with the birds that kept flying through the door within the room. Me and another guest from another table had to try to push the bird out I wasn't seated even on the patio. Unlike other afternoon teas I have been to, this one doesn't refill the tea leaves just more water and only one choice of tea. Service wasn't attentive. There was 20 minutes where I didnt see a server and was ready to pay the bill. They seem to be understaffed The afternoon tea filled me up. The macarons didn't have much "legs" to them so didn't feel like they were done correctly. The sesame flavor was interesting. The guava sorbet was a nice touch. Nothing stood out flavor wise. I thought the croissant was a bit dry and old. The eclair tasted like a frozen cream puff from the grocery store that has sat too long.

Google
We decided to come here for breakfast buffet. From 6 am to 10 am, Price: $48 for adults and $22 for children (12 and under). If you are local (Kamaʻāina) you can get a 15% discount. The view is amazing, the service is excellent. I expected more food selection, but overall not bad. When you arrive, you give the car to the valet and he parks the car for you, it’s very convenient, a maximum of 4 hours for free.

Yelp
Really wanted to give this spot 5 stars because the food was outstanding!!! Truly unique finger sandwiches, of the highest quality! Wow lobster in one, duck on another, a truffle egg, delicious tuna! Even though the five finger sandwiches look like small bites, it was super filling. Desserts were seasonal, with a delicate kobocha tart, blood orange macaroon, red velvet cake, and my personal favorite, the Haupia roll. We did the classic tea, and we went with the POG and mango pineapple, both were fragrant, deep flavor, black tea based. They constantly refill with hot water, so we ended up drinking about 3 pots of tea. For the service, at the beginning it was phenomenal, the food came out so quickly, server even offered to take our photo. As soon as we got our food, we struggled to receive our check and the final course (sorbet). After waiting for a long time, we finally asked someone else clearing tables for a box and to locate our waiter. View of the banyan tree is lovely, and the covered patio is right on the Waikiki Beach. Recommend making a reservation. They validate parking up to 4 hours valet.

Yelp
This review is solely on the high tea experience they offer here. The coconut tea was mild and my favorite tea! Come hungry bc even though it doesn't look much it was very filling! Many small bites! Such a fun experience for my friend and I. I have been to the island many times but somehow never had experienced a high tea there? It was totally worth it! The food was great but that lilikoi cream for the scones was one of the best things I've ever tasted!? I wish they sold that in jars! I would have bought them all! Yes! That good! I didn't even think I liked lilikoi anything before now! Overall fun experience! Our servers were the best!

Yelp
Beautiful outdoor setting. Friendly attentive service. Limited tea selection. Unique selection of finger sandwiches. Yummy sweet desserts. Mango sorbet to top it off. The smoked tuna finger sandwich and lobster croissant were my faves. The blueberry orange scone with the lilikoi curd was yummy. We chose the coconut tea and the passion orange guava tea. Both were yummy. $75/person classic tea Small gift bag Special Birthday desserts Validated valet parking Birthday memories for the Scorpio besties... PRICELESS.

Yelp
Had an exquisite experience during afternoon tea at the Moana Surfrider--the rays of sunlight bathing the Veranda in warmth, along with the scintillating ocean backdrop was a tranquil sight to behold. Opted for the Royal Tea at $137 per person, which consisted of the following: tea infused mimosa flight, soup du jour or salad, finger sandwiches, sweet offerings, berries with yogurt and whipped cream, and tropical sorbet. The lobster bisque was definitely a personal fave and, when paired with the attentive service and complimentary, omiyage gift bag, the experience was elevated to one of the most enjoyable afternoon tea options on Oahu. Tip: definitely come hungry if you select the Royal Tea as we left feeling stuffed! Would highly recommend giving this a try.

Yelp
We came here for their afternoon tea. Where we sat, the view was very picturesque. The various savory and sweet items were okay. I was not fond of any of the finger sandwiches. Some had really interesting flavors so I gave mine to my boyfriend. Dessert items were a bit better. For teas, we had mango pineapple, and sweet peach. The teas were not as hot. And very light in flavor. Service on the other hand was excellent. Our server gave us good recommendations for Waikiki and was just a personable guy and very attentive. He took great care of us.

Yelp
Carefree evening class stringing beads with champagne in the Kahala Hotel. Menu has many choices from small appetizers like deviled eggs to truffle fries to exotic ice cream desserts. One dessert features edible olivine. I ordered the beef tartar. Kind teacher helped me with all my necklace questions. Polite and efficient staff. Staff was extra careful not to bump our beads on the table. Hope there are more classes at the Veranda in the future. The parking garage fee was included in the class tuition. The Veranda ambiance was stylish and serene. Strolling by the dolphins and waterfalls is a must if u have extra time.

Yelp
I usually opt out of buffet options but the spread here was a nice mix of local, Japanese and American. Wonderful local fruits, local fried rice, a miso soup station and fresh omelettes were some things I tried. My favorite however was the mochi waffle with whipped cream, fresh berries and little mochi pieces on top. The pancakes had fresh mango and popping mango boba toppings. Very surprised at the quality of selection. Staff was very helpful and accommodating as well. Enjoyed sitting outside to hear the waves and enjoy the water.

Yelp
We didn't discover this restaurant until about three days into our visit, and boy were we sorry. We only had time to enjoy the breakfast buffet on two different mornings, and it was well worth our time and effort. If you're the type of person that doesn't enjoy lox and bagels, eggs benedict, cooked to order omelets, cooked to order waffles, cooked to order pancakes, fresh fruit, bacon, Portuguese sausage, muffins, coffee and juice, then this may not be the place for you, and be sure to check out the pictures of the food. If you don't like sitting within 20 yards of the beach below banyan trees, then this may not be the place for you. If you don't like the sound of birds chirping and the waves hitting the beach, this this may not be the place for you. If you don't like attentive service, then this may not be the place for you. Our coffee and water glasses were never empty, and, if you knew my wife and I, you'd understand why this is a big deal. Again, we wish that we had discovered this restaurant sooner, as they have a very attractive dinner menu that featured a prix fix dinner and the option of pairing the courses with a wine selected for you. It looked tempting, but our dinner reservations had already been made. One caveat for you to consider. Some may say that the restaurant is too expensive. I would say that everything was incredibly fresh and tasty, and we found it to be well worth the dollars that we spent. This was definitely a place for us, and if we are ever in the neighborhood again, we will be here.

Yelp
I've never done a tea before some my sister in love decided to take me to one and I hate to say this but I'm now spoiled and don't think that any other tea will be as great as this one. The Veranda has different tea packages that they offer - we went with the Royal Tea - which consisted of a tea infused mimosa flight, bites to eat, tea and well as a gift bag. If you are local ask about your kamaaina but regardless, this is one you will definitely enjoy! The tea started with the teas being described to us - since there were 3 of us, it was recommended that we each get a different tea and share so we can taste the different teas - they offer local teas like the POG (I recommend it!) and then they have the earl greys and such. We got POG, strawberry lychee and I think it was a mango something or another (it had the most caffeine in it). The mimosas were POG, peach and mango something, but it was all delicious! We were given the option of soup (lobster bisque) or salad (Caesar) and I'm not really into soups but got the bisque as the waiter highly recommended it. If I could go back now for the bisque I would as it was that good. We were then given finger foods (chicken curry sandwich, egg salad sandwich, shrimp croissant, salmon bellini & I feel like I'm forgetting one), you are thinking they are so small but I swear I kept looking because we still had sweets on the table (macaroons, eclair, sweet roll, etc) and then we were brought fruit with yogurt and whipped cream. At this point I'm like I can't finish it and then they bring out mango sorbet. In between the food, the tea, the mimosas and all the laughs, this is an experience I'll not forget any time soon. But then there is more - we were given a canister of tea as well as cookies and candies to take home with us. The view is spectacular, the service is amazing, they validate parking and if I haven't said this clearly enough, let me say it again . . . GO!

Yelp
Who would think to have high tea in the middle of a Hawaiian vacation? Well, apparently the Two Gay Expats did because they featured this place in the Oahu video on their YouTube channel. Since we had good luck with their recommendations for Cream Pot (review: https://yelp.to/ENZ9KiVHdj) and Maita'i Catamaran (review: https://yelp.to/wEdzNP7Y9C), Jamie W. and I decided to make a reservation here. The veranda is on the beach side of the colonial-style Moana Surfrider, a luxury hotel we've never stayed at though we've often sat in their front porch rocking chairs when we needed a break on our Waikiki walks. We surveyed the tables, and most were populated by well-dressed women accompanied by a few bored-looking men who looked like they'd rather be at the bar watching the game. And there was us not sure what we were doing here. There was a selection of four afternoon tea sets from which we chose the First Lady at $90 per person. It came with a glass of sparkling rose and a fan we could use if we should ever vogue again. We had to choose our teas for the meal. I went for the Hawaiian Coconut, while Jamie ordered Mango Pineapple. Just seemed wrong to go with Earl Grey in Hawai'i. Our meal arrived on one of those three-tier cake stands - a variety of finger sandwiches, macarons, slices of cake roll, scones with clotted cream and mango whip, fresh berries with yogurt and fresh cream, passionfruit sorbet. In other words, they provided exactly what you'd expect at an afternoon tea. We sat here for a couple of leisurely hours, and Darren was a friendly server throughout. The Two Gay Expats score again. FOOD / TEA - 4 stars...good tea and finger food, pinkies up AMBIANCE - 4.5 stars...vintage veranda with period panache SERVICE - 4 stas...Darren treated us well TOTAL - 4 stars...I'd like to propose a toast...Here's to the ladies who lunch...Everybody laugh! Yelp
Mahalo to Carlo for taking wonderful care of my classmates and me at tea in honor of our out of town classmate! We had a lovely time catching up and Carlo did not skip a beat and kept us entertained and kept the tea and everything flowing. Will be back again soon.

Yelp
On a beautiful afternoon in Waikiki, my friends and I celebrated Galentines. The Moana Surfrider is a beautiful, historic hotel and The Veranda provides a classy ambiance for a perfect girls day. I ordered the Moana Classic Set which included a choice of tea, savory finger sandwiches, sweet treats, and a tropical sorbet. Everything was delicious. My favorites included the Roast Beef & Sumida Watercress, Smoked Salmon & Sweetland Farm Chèvre, Truffle Egg, and Blueberry & Orange Scones with Lilikoi Curd & Mascarpone Cream. Definitely a tasty meal. Our server was friendly and made sure to keep our hot water filled and got us anything we asked for quickly. I will say that this was a pricier "tea party", but it was a great experience and perfect when celebrating a special occasion.

Yelp
What a beautiful experience and birthday celebration! From the ambiance to the service to the food, everything was more than I could ask for. Ocean views while having afternoon tea, tea infused mimosas, delicious sandwich platter and dessert. For my birthday, they gave me some extra goodies in my gift bag and a glass of Prosecco. We felt very welcomed with the friendly staff. I would love to come back. Check in was great and smooth. Our Airbnb was walking distance so we didn't deal with the parking. There's a nice beach bar so we went to hang out there after our brunch with no problem. What a memorable and wonderful experience. Mahalo

Yelp
My husband and I wanted to embrace our more bougie side and try something for lunch that was a little more... dramatic. The Veranda helped us out with our fantasy. If you're ever in the mood for morning or afternoon tea that is served by a very competent and friendly wait staff, look no further. The sandwiches provided were diverse as they were delicious. The desserts impressed with every bite. The variety of teas also impressed. While some may feel the views are obstructed by the variety of hotel bars and restaurants clumped together, the breezes are still very inviting, and keep you cool and relaxed.

Yelp
Reservations are easy to make online and they call you a few days prior to confirm your reservation. Parking is only valet and free with validation. Make sure to call the number on your parking ticket before you're ready to leave because they're busy and take a while to get your car. Most of us ordered the Moana Classic Tea at $69/person. I ordered the Hawaiian Coconut tea which had a nice flavor. The Moana Classic Tea comes with sandwiches and pastries. My favorites being the mushroom sandwich and scones. At the end, they give you a pineapple sorbet which is delicious. There's a lot of food so you'll definitely be full. Overall this is a relaxing place to dine with friends. Will be back soon.

Yelp
I took my family to High Tea at The Veranda and it was wonderful in every way! From making the reservation to the end of our High Tea, it was a good choice for a relaxing afternoon in a beautiful setting. Service is impeccable and the tea sets offered had something for everyone. They had one that came with a Cheeseburger rather than the finger sandwiches, which my 16 year old grandson enjoyed. He said it was one of the best burgers he has had. I encouraged everyone to get the tea set they wanted. Four of us opted for the Royal Tea. I'll be posting photos of that tea set. Everything was so delicious and filling. There were left overs to take home. They end the tea sets with Yogurt and Fresh Berries for the Royal Tea and Tropical Sorbet for everyone. The Royal Tea also comes with a gift Bag. Although it is pricey, there is a Kama'aina (local resident) discount and IMO well worth it. Our waiter Daniel was attentive and friendly. My family and I enjoyed High Tea here and it was memorable. I've been to High Tea at other places in Honolulu and on my travels. This was definitely one if not the best! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Review is for the Afternoon Tea Set they offer here at the Veranda. [[ Location ]] It's located inside the Moana Surfrider (Westin Hotel) and overlooks a beautiful large tree and the beach. Just sitting at the table and enjoying the beautiful surroundings and people watching is already a treat in itself. [[ Service ]] Being a more expensive restaurant, service is what you can expect. The server is attentive, your water will be refilled before you know it, and the server was very courteous. No issues here. [[ Afternoon Tea ]] This was one of an early reservation we made before coming to Hawaii on vacation and something my wife was really looking forward to. My wife loves afternoon tea and this was rated highly. For me personally, I'm not a huge fan of afternoon tea but I'm happy to accompany my wife to them as she enjoys the setting and the nice variety of sandwiches/desserts that it offers. After looking at the menu (attached in the photos), we decided to go with the "Moana Classic Tea" set as it comes with the majority of what you want and we aren't huge alcohol drinkers. Feel free to look at the menu to see all the items you get with the order but I'll highlight the ones I really liked. Sandwiches: 1.) Truffle Egg - This one is my favorite but I find that I like this combination in any tea set I've tried in the past. Truffe/egg is just a good combo. 2.) Asian Crab Potato Salad - I thought this sandwich was quite unique. Very different from the traditional sandwiches you get but thought it was decent with an asian twist. Sweet Offerings: 1.) Blueberry Orange Scones with lilikoi curd and mascarpone cream - The lilikoi (passion fruit) curd was SOOO delicious. My wife and I were fighting over the curd since it was so good and trying to use it as much as we could on the scones. The mascarpone cream was also good but that lilikoi curd is something else. The rest of the desserts were also generally really delicious/tasty, but the scones for me stood out the most. We also added: 1.) Seasonal Berries with Yogurt and Whipped Cream - It's good, but I would skip it in my opinion. Nothing special but its nice to munch on some fruit. 2.) Iced Mango Matcha Latte - This was good and although pricey, I think I would get it again. Can't go wrong with Mango, Matcha, and the mochi balls inside. [[ Overall ]] You can't go wrong coming here for the afternoon tea and the visuals. Easy 5/5 recommendation for me.

Yelp
I wanted to treat myself for my birthday so I brought my daughter to afternoon tea. Reservations were easy via Open table, and when we arrived we were seated right away. My daughter opt for the Easter Keiki tea which included a milkshake, goodie bag and stuffed bear. I chose the Moana classic tea set, and for my birthday they added a fan, berries with whipped cream and sorbet to my tea service. The sandwiches were gourmet, filling and very delicious. The sweet offerings were the perfect balance of lightness and not overly sweet. Ambiance was a mellow happy atmosphere with lots of folks enjoying special occasions. Service was great, our waiter was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend, especially if you seeking an indulgent celebration to enjoy,

Yelp
Went here for the breakfast buffet with the other half. I must say the food here is terrific. Everything nice and hot and delicious. Plus made to order omelets and waffles so good! Ambiance overlooking the beach amazing. Staff were so friendly and helpful too, especially the host Pila and server, Jeff. Definitely will return and highly recommend.

Yelp
I came with a group of 10, originally it was 6 and they let me change to 10 with ease. Then one more person showed up unexpectedly and they made room. The setting of this place is nice, but it is facing the resort pool which takes away the ambiance a bit. I got the Royal Tea because I wanted the gift bag, and I shared the mimosas with friends. The Royal Tea was a lot, in addition to all of the Classic Tea it included Lobster Bisque or Salad, and berries with cream and yogurt. I didn't need either of these additions. The tray of food is plenty, all of the sandwich options were good and so were the desserts. Something that other people in the party pointed out was the lack of tongs to get the food off of the tiered tray and the same plates for sandwiches and desserts. Some of the sandwiches were messy and a new plate would have been nice. When someone asked for tongs, they did not have any. For a place this expensive; a few tongs would not add much extra cost. I don't think I would go back, I don't have a reason to. But the experience was nice for what it was.

Yelp
Went to celebrate a friend's birthday and we weren't disappointed. The service was top notch. Our views were amazing with live music playing making it a relaxing experience. We ordered the First Lady Tea and Moana Classic Tea service. Together with the ambience and food, we enjoyed the company and birthday celebration! Everything was 5 stars!

Yelp
Love having breakfast here! This is our third time staying here this year and we eat breakfast here every morning when we come. It is expensive but if you have "elite status" with Marriott (we are lifetime Titanium) it is half off and pretty reasonable. The location is AMAZING with views of the Banyon tree and ocean. The veranda is open air seating but partly covered. New this trip is the all you can eat BUFFET option. We loved it because of all the fresh papaya and pineapple. Service is always fast and friendly. These servers are all so hard working and aiming to please. Can't wait to come again!

Yelp
Looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion with the girls? The Veranda at the Moana Surfrider is a spot you should check out! Dress up if you like, casual vibes, complimentary parking, yummy finger food and attentive service. You can have it all at the Veranda for tea service $80 and up. A must experience with your besties!

Yelp
I rarely ever give Yelp reviews but after our AMAZING experience here for tea time this past Saturday, I had to give my compliments and share our experience. Tea time at the Veranda has been on my foodie list for a while now, then I found out Paradise Monarchs did a Butterfly Tea Time event here at the Veranda, so I had to make a reservation. It just so happened we were also celebrating some birthdays as well. I just have to say every moment of this experience was AWESOME. I have to give a big compliment to our waiter Darren H! He was AMAZING. He was informative with lots of info and very attentive to our needs. He even made our birthday celebrations even that much more fun, and of course he took the best pictures to capture our experience! The variety of sandwiches and sweets were amazing, along with their different teas and alcoholic flights. It was definitely different for my friends and I, as we rarely indulge in these kinds of fancy experiences but it was soooo worth it for this special occasion. And the BUTTERFLIES was such a FUN and beautiful event! Being that it was our birthday weekend, we ended up doing a weekend staycation in Waikiki. We encountered lots of eating out at different places, and my friends all agree that Darren was by far the BEST service we experienced this weekend. So please share this with him and commend him for being AMAZING! Thanks, Darren!

Yelp
I ordered the mochi waffles every day I was there, then I order mochi flour to make these at home. So good! So fresh and crispy and delicious fresh fruit and fresh whipped cream 10/10 recommend

Yelp
I booked the butterfly tea experience for a birthday and everything went so smoothly. Our server took the time to explain all the options to us and easily accommodated all food allergies/preferences. The tea was so flavorful and they had a variety to choose from! The little sandwiches and desserts came out so pretty and they tasted delicious too. I loved the egg sandwich and the macaron, but the pumpkin tart was a close second. Overall great restaurant and will definitely be coming back when it's time to celebrate another special occasion.

Yelp
Our server, Darren was friendly and professional and his timing was perfect in every way possible. With the BGM music (I cannot tell if that was live or not, but it was easy to ears) and a picturesque view of the waikiki beach in the cozy space in the specious deck, it was enjoyable few hours with a girl friend to catch up with while having delicious tea and sandwiches with desserts. Finger sandwiches are a bit too salty for me, but it was just right amount. We both took a few sweets home, but had a perfect size of sharbet ice cream in the end. It was not too sweet but sweet enough to make both of us go "ummmm" Overall, it was tasty treats, relaxing and pleasing experience for me, but if I were to just review the foods, I had better afternoon tea foods somewhere else with less cost.

Yelp
I've stayed at the Moana several times for b'ness bc its my fave hotel on Waikīkī Beach. It has so much nostalgia (oldest hotel in Waikīkī built in 1901). However, I have never had the pleasure of having bfast or afternoon tea at the Veranda. This recent trip was vacation w/ the HTC (Hawai'i Travel Companion), and our room inc bfast. In addition, she wanted to try afternoon tea. The bfast experience was nothing short of amazing. Miss V (Varnell) and her team showed so much Aloha, it was like eating at home. Our waitstaff inc Jerry, Louis, Rich, Koji and Angelo. The hostesses, Alyssa & Rachel always had a smile on their faces. I enjoyed all the savory items like loco moco, steak & eggs, omelette, pork hash benedict, American bfast and lox & bagel. The wahine enjoyed sweeter fare like fruit pancakes and waffles. All the food tasted wonderful and the portions were massive. Pro tip: If bfast is not inc in your room, split the bfast. Items are approximately $34, so it will reduce the cost. Alternatively, ask for fruit vs potatoes, and/or save some of your food for later. For afternoon tea, our waitress was Vangie. She was so nice and explained how the menu works. She also explained all the items she delivered. For example, the savory items inc a lobster BLT, egg salad w/ truffle, curry chicken salad, smoked salmon bellini and a croissant w/ local corn fr Kahuku. All of the items were unique & fantastic. I thought I would not be full fr this experience. However, I was satisfied visually and gastronomically. In addition, the rich, freshly steeped coconut tea helped to fill you up. I can't wait to return to the Moana, so I can enjoy bfast at the Veranda again. I will also partake in afternoon tea a second time. There is so much Aloha here it makes you feel comfortable and relaxed.

Yelp
We were able to sample the brunch buffet, everything we sampled was decent, on the main buffet options you have scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict, tray of pork sausages, tray of bacon, fried rice, of everything sampled the pork sausages had a snap on each bite, very filling, scrambled eggs were runny, bacon was close to crunchy heavy helping will put you to sleep. There is an omelette counter, cereal counter with mini cereal options both skim milk and whole milk are offered, large tray of breads offered, white toast, wheat toast, plain bagels, mini croissant's, mini apple fritters, butter and jams also offered For drinks they had the help yourself juices, orange, watermelon/strawberry, pineapple/mint and guava juices sampled 3 of their options the watermelon/strawberry, pineapple/mint and guava, of the 3 guava was the option I would stick with Also on the main menu you can get the matcha waffles or mochico pancake both fluffy and made well, also on the menu was loco moco, steak and eggs and several other options. On a whole if you do the buffet option stick with the pork sausages and the runny scrambled eggs lol the fried rice was over cooked, I would have to go for the loco or the steak and eggs next time. Food that I sampled was *** just ok for buffet Price ? Comp'd since we stayed at the hotel Service ***** helpful and friendly staff Ambiance **** on most days outside is idea due to the weather

Yelp
We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was a very cute experience! Valet parking is free with validation from the restaurant for 4 hours. It was really busy when we went since it was during hotel check-in/out hours and it took around 10 minutes to get to the valet stand and then around 15 minutes to bring the car back around. I had the Moana Classic Tea and my friend got the Royal set that came with a mimosa tea flight and a small gift bag. We tried the strawberry lychee, POG and White Peach tea. The white peach was really light but almost tasteless and the strawberry lychee was more floral than I expected and the POG was a little more tangy than sweet. The sandwiches and desserts look small but with all the tea, it gets filling! The service was nice and they always made sure the water was filled and teapots had hot water in them. The food came out pretty quickly since I assume it's all prepared in advance since they have a set menu. It was tasty but I was a little underwhelmed with the flavors of the sandwiches. The eggplant katsu sando I had expected to be at least warm and crispy but it was cold and soggy. The other sandwiches weren't really memorable and the desserts were okay. The scones were pretty dry and needed a lot of the lilikoi curd and cream and the other pastries weren't anything special. Overall the service was nice and it was a cute experience to hang out with a nice view but I probably would only go back for a special occasion. Definitely fun to try it out though!

Yelp
The Tea at The Veranda was GOAT because the service, food, and AMBIANCE was unreal. MUST: Make reservations at least a month's advance. IF you ever love afternoon teas, this will wow you, if you want a Aloha twist. Our server was excellent, but the server assistant was Charles who was the CUTEST, sweet older guy with the best smile just made our time so lovely. Photos tell the story.

Yelp
It's inside the Moana Surfrider. They have free validation parking for 4 hours when you spend a minimum amount. Self parking at the Princess Kaiulani across the hotel or you can do valet at Moana Surfrider. Afternoon tea is only Friday -Sunday. Make reservations early because it gets busy. My friend suggested the Royal Tea set, the most expensive set. It also includes omiyage along with the food and drinks. I didn't want alcohol so my friend asked them to make a non-alcoholic drink which was a lilikoi kombucha. I also got the sweet peach tea. The drinks were great! The lobster soup had pieces of lobster meat. It was flavorful but was a little bit salty. There were different sandwiches and desserts. The set also included berries with whip cream and a sorbet. All of it was sooo yummy! Very full. I had to take the desserts home. The omiyage came with a folding fan, jelly, cookies, and a tea bag. The presentation was nice. The food was great. Awesome service. Great experience and girls time.

Yelp
This is the perfect vacation or special occasion afternoon tea to immerse you in all the beauty of Hawaii. We had the Moana Classic Tea service and everything but the scone was outstanding. I've found that afternoon teas in the U.S. often do the savory OR sweet well, but never both. Their savories however, had a whole bunch of island combinations including a shrimp salad croissant and a curry chicken sandwich with coconut milk and lemon grass. The desserts also were super light and well balanced with tropical flavors. We shared one tea which was $73 and shared one mimosa flight at $24. The veranda over looks the ocean and they had live music. The service was friendly and accommodating but not intrusive. The hotel is in a historic building and they've done an outstanding job in preserving the Victorian (if not colonial) feel. Really a remarkable experience.

Yelp
This is a beautiful spot for high tea & I was thrilled that there was a vegan tea service available! Delicious tea, excellent service, a fantastic ocean view & lovely vegan offerings. Perfect for celebrations or special moments with family & friends.

Yelp
Staying at the hotel here, we get $20 per person free per day as Marriott titanium members. We chose the continental breakfast for $20 each, it was good and quite filling. Love the fresh fruit and the guava juice, especially. We weren't able to eat the croissants as we were too full. Good value for free!

Yelp
This tea house has set the bar so high. I have been to tea at three other locations on island. This was a special treat for two of my girlfriends who have never experienced a tea. And it is the absolute best of any I have attended. The little food filled is up so we were stuffed when the sorbet arrived. The tea infused mimosas are a fan favorite. There is just no settling for less. Beautiful memories in a beautiful setting: perfect temperatures, sunny beach view, and no fighting flies over your food!!!

Yelp
Honestly, one of the best high tea places I've ever been to. I'm so glad my boyfriend took me here! It's the perfect spot for a celebration, anniversary, or to even treat yourself on a date. We highly recommend making reservations before coming too. ***What we ordered **The First Lady Course ~ (9/10) For $90 everything was pretty worth it. You get a glass of sparkling Rosé, the 3-Tier course, a take home fan, tea, and a goodie bag! I got the seasonal gingerbread tea and it was so delicious! It had an amazing balance of ginger, orange, and cinnamon! Every sip tasted like fall! My boyfriend got the pumpkin spice tea and he said it was great too (you could really taste the cardamom in his tea)! We both recommend that after you finish your meal you add the rock sugar into the teas because it tasted AMAZING when it's sweet! The tea and food complimented itself really nicely. My personal favorite was the roll cake and the salmon finger sandwich! Overall, Words cannot describe how pleasantly surprised I was when coming here. I guess now I know what it feels like to be a tourist and really take in the views and relax, because it was such a great experience. I will definitely be coming back again for a special occasion. I can't wait :)!

Yelp
Finally got a reservation, this place is so hard to get a reservations, always booked for Afternoon tea. Had problems with their on-line reservations, could not get a live person to make reservations, finally got someone to connect me to banquets, which graciously took care of our reservation. Apparently our party of 7 was considered large all worked out in the end. The atmosphere is nice, can't beat the feeling of old hawaii sitting on the outdoor lanai close to the ocean. Was worried we were gonna be seated in the sun, but we weren't and had a nice table on the inside. Tea sandwiches and sweets were good, typical tea sandwiches. Kinda expected something unique. BUT the sorbet they served to clean your palette was amazing! The tea assortment was intensive and had a lot of unique Hawaiian teas. They also offer a vegetarian menu. Overall, we had a lovely time and everything was nice, just wish food was a wee bit more unique like their teas. Servers are very attentive! Heads up valet parking was a mess, too small valet area, had to wait to get in and wait for our car.

Yelp
Truly a treat coming here. Tea service is $70 upwards and you pay for the experience. We reserved about a week in advance as tea service is served on limited days and times. On a Sunday at 12:30pm every table was taken however I feel like there are no bad seats in the house. There were many bridal showers, women celebrations and guests taking their little girls out for a treat. We decided to treat ourselves as it has probably been a good seven years since we last been here. So, there was a little bit of a sticker shock because the most expensive tea is the $135 Royal Tea which includes the full tea service, berries and cream, a little bubbly and a little gift bag. The little gift includes, cookies, tea and a fan. At one time, a very long time ago, the fan was included and including the bubbly was an added small cost. So, we decided to order the Moana basic tea service. It honestly does not look like much but the sandwiches and pastries are really filling. The crustless sandwiches are cute, rich and very delicious. The scone with the clotted cream and lemon curd up top the mini scones were delectable and very filling. The little s'mores mousse tart with the marshmallow tasted light and decadent. My favorite was the little Swiss rolls with Haupia filling. The tea washed everything down perfectly. Although we were seated outside and facing the ocean the hot tea seemed a perfect accompaniment to the ambiance. Oh and if you valet..it takes about 20 to get your vehicle. Probably best to let your server know as you wait for the final ice cream dish to clean your palette!

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday afternoon for tea. This spot has been on my list a long time since I love high tea and great views. We made reservations a month out and were able to get a nice seat on the veranda. When we arrived we were greeted by live music and seated immediately. The ambiance was lovely on the waterfront, but a direct view was obscured by umbrellas, a swimming pool and a tree. However, the seating and awning was still great. The hotel itself is grand and classy. The service was decent. They were nice, but very busy which made service a little slower. However, they still treated us well and we enjoyed the view and food. The food was tasty. We ordered the moana tea which came with sandwiches and pastries. I was a bit surprised we only had the option of one tea as I am accustomed to trying a few. However, we were each given a pot which was generously refilled. The sandwiches and pastries were delightful and well crafted. My favorite was the crab croissant and the scones paired with lilikoi curd. The mango macarons fell apart due to the humidity but also had a great flavor. The portions were also satisfying and enough. The value was a little pricier, but standard giving the beachfront wakiki location at about $80 a person after everything. They do validate valet which is nice. Overall, I was not disappointed. It was a lovely tea with spectacular view. I would recommend if you are a tea person. They only reason it was 4 stars was slower service and only 1 tea option.

Yelp
We made a reservation to attend the afternoon tea during our honeymoon and it was absolutely amazing (bonus points for the nice lady making the reservation for putting us at a nice table outside)! Our server, Carlo, made our experience extra memorable. He was super attentive, very personable and fun. We loved the tea and the selection of finger sandwiches and sweet treats. The atmosphere was wonderful - we did not feel rushed and could fully enjoy our afternoon at the Veranda. Highly recommend this place for a special occasion or a relaxing afternoon! And MANY THANKS to Carlo!

Yelp
Quaint and sophisticated tea party! Very much enjoyed this local hot spot! Reserved in advance for an amazing tea party on the beach. Something different and delicate! Absolutely enjoyed the food and the tea choices and I left with a beautiful gift! After you enjoy brunch on the water you can head over to their beach bar and enjoy live entertainment and watch the surf riders on the waves! Paradise!

Yelp
Can't beat the views and surf sounds at The Veranda restaurant at the Moana Surfrider hotel on Waikiki Beach. The food and personal service make this restaurant outstanding! Since we ate here several mornings, we tried many of the food offerings. I didn't try the Loco Moco until the last day but wished I had tried it earlier. It's an easy-over egg atop of a delicious grilled burger patty over a bed of delicious savory fried rice. I thought it may be too greasy, but alas, it was not! This is a traditional Hawaiian meal that should be on your foodie bucket list!! The two pancake dishes were also very original and delicious choices. The mango pancakes had popping mango boba (super yummy) that I have only ever had in a Boba drink. Order these pancakes for truly tropical breakfast experience. And don't forget to order fresh pineapple juice while in Hawaii.

Yelp
Well, I checked in at the Moana Surfrider Hotel for High Noon TeaTime. Only having to reschedule & providing me with the opportunity to check in correctly here & for "Afternoon Tea". Here's the difference: Afternoon Tea = includes delicate pastries, little sandwiches, scones & cakes. High Noon/Tea = a wholesome meal of meat, potatoes & vegetables served after a long hard day at work. Now that Tea 101 is out of the way...as a child, I never had tea parties, just a cup of tea at home or with family in a casual environment. When I got the invite, I almost declined to come as I thought "It's too hot for tea on this 80-degree island"...so glad I came. Yes, there's a Vegan Tea Set, yes, there are perfectly paired Tea Sets for everyone's palate including a GF option, yes there are sweet & savory bites, & yes there is a selection of Moana & traditional teas, mimosas, prosecco, cocktails & even The Duke offering a Surfrider Burger with Fries & Onion Rings. My Vegan Tea Set: *Herbal Rooibos - a South African, earthy black & decaf tea. *Moana Tea Salad - Local mixed greens, crispy shallots, fried garlic, sunflower seeds, cherry tomato, pickled chili, sesame seeds, & tea-infused dressing. *The Soup & Sandwich - Hamakua tomato gazpacho with taro croquette, avocado, pickled onion, Ho farms & tomato tapenade. *Desserts - Vegan chocolate cake, blueberry scones & fresh fruit...all for $69. I also treated myself to a Flight of Tea Infused Mimosas. Yet, above all else, it was the elegant, Victorian feeling of dining under the canopy of the banyan trees with the Waikiki Beach aka the "First Lady of Waikiki" waves serving as background music that did it for me. Our Server Annie had such an attitude of gratitude in serving us which simply topped off this unforgettable experience. Reservations are on Open Table & the Vernanda is serving Afternoon Tea Friday - Sunday 11:30A - 2:30P. If you visit Honolulu, it's a must you have a Tea Party at The Veranda at The Beachhouse. Please don't forget to send me an invite - smile.

Yelp
12/04/22 menu for HighTea 12:15pm reservation Okay so this is serious!!! I mean wholesome goodness serious!! I've officially fallen in love with the high tea here it's my 4th visit now.... And this is maybe my third review.... Sorry not counting I'm just here doing this because as I stated - THIS IS SERIOUS- go ahead laugh at me. Im about to share something that needs to be known right now about this place that I don't think many would know or even realize. It's nothing to do with the hotel this place is in.... Or I would have not posted such pictures. This "serious" topic is about a particular offering that was in the high tea experience I had yesterday... (12/04/22 menu for HighTea 12:15pm reservation) I already know that what I'm about to mention is we'll known to my friend that joined me for high tea here. She and I had a singular experience with this particular offering... - THE STOLLEN BREAD!! Okay let me put it this way- if high tea only offered Stollen I would be saying yes to that. I have baked bread and know that stollen is not a bread that's exactly easy to make there is a lot of dried fruits in it that can pull away moisture BUT THIS STOLLEN FROM the Moana Surfrider / Veranda High tea for seasonal menu- Christmas!! I hope this review gets seen by others whom have yet to try a high tea or even just a high tea here at the Moana cause that Stollen is so good that my friend and I was willing to dish out the $30 each for a loaf to take home.... It's SERIOUSLY GOOD AND. Everyone needs to try that too if your one with an affinity for good Bread... trust me... it's the best stollen I've ever eaten until I really go to Germany and try the real deal... I say the stollen bread from here is on my "Memory Rolodex" until I go back again during this time of year next year!! It's seriously so delicious!! Thank you Veranda at Moana Surfrider. And BIG MAHALO TO Calvin our server he came around and gave us great service including another bigger Caucasian guy that looked like a chef type- I didn't catch his name but he came with hot water and Calvin came to pour our tea when it was steeped properly... thank you both
