Veranda Bistro

I had breakfast here and it was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere is absolutely spectacular – it feels like stepping into a fairy tale. The place is full of history, filled with joy, and even surrounded by birds, which makes it even more magical. The service was one of the best I’ve ever had, not only in Mexico City but anywhere. I was attended by Ricardo, who was extremely attentive, kind, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He truly made my breakfast even more special.

Our experience was made even better thanks to Efrain, who was an exceptional server, attentive, friendly, and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious and served fresh. I had the Chilaquiles and my husband ordered the croissant sandwich, both dishes were fantastic. Highly recommend!

Alexis was a great server, very attentive and kind. There were no more eggs and he and the team were able to get an order for me. Good food, very accommodating, worth a visit when in Mexico City. Ambiance was beautiful.

During my stay at the Hotel Genève, I was stopping by this restaurant on daily basis. I doubt you can find a better restaurant in Mexico City - the ambiance, amazing staff, live music, delicious cuisine, great interior - all is there. What a beautiful restaurant! I was not expecting to have the best cup of clam chowder in my life in Mexico. I lived in New England for 6 years and have spent plenty of time in San Francisco... but damn... this clam chowder beats them all. This place supposedly served the first sandwich in Mexico. The ingredients were super simple, but the taste was incredible. When you're done with your meal, I recommend going up the spiral stairs to peak inside of the small office. You get a great view of the hotel lobby. Although the food was amazing, expect service to be slow. We were the only ones in the restaurant, so it was odd for that to happen. Like some of the other reviews mention, the young waiters were off to the side gossiping, which was disappointing. Our server was great. I imagine that there were lots of room service orders. I can't think of another reason why service was so slow. Worth the experience, but pack your patience.

I have stayed here 2 times and both times have had excelent service. Everyone is very attentive and at your service. I stayed here in 2019 and now in 2025. The breakfast is very good and the service even better. Definitely will keep coming back if I ever come back to Mexico

Breakfast at the hotel’s bistro was one of the highlights of our stay. The variety was impressive, and the authentic Mexican dishes were absolutely delicious — a perfect way to start each day. The atmosphere was made even better by the wonderful staff. Ibrahim, in particular, was exceptional — always kind, attentive, and full of positive energy. He truly made our mornings feel special. I had the sandwich Geneva and it was so delicious! My husband had the chilaquiles and those too were so good! Service 10/10. Our server Ricardo was so friendly. Such a nice place to have breakfast. Definitely stop by. Coffee was delicious as well.

Cute hidden spot in hotel with tea and sandwich vibes. The service was on par and had a french onion soup that was great with a gravy like taste.

A beautiful restaurant interior! The Hotel Geneve is an incredibly beautiful hotel located in Mexico City with a rich history and cultural importance to the city. The Veranda Bistro is the casual cafe located inside the hotel and offers quick meals, a breakfast buffet, and juices for guests. The bistro has a stunning decor with hanging plants and vines decorating the walls and a full ceiling sky light. Within the dining room are also several bird cages with canaries that further enhance the feeling that you are eating outdoor in a garden. The most popular and famous item on the lunch menu is the Hotel Geneve Sandwich. The restaurant staff state that their hotel was the first establishment in Mexico to serve a sandwich, in 1910. The Hotel Geneve Sandwich is a reproduction of that first sandwich including toast, cheese, ham, and tomatoes.
