A True Sanctuary: Veranda High Resort Chiang Mai Our stay at Veranda High Resort was absolutely wonderful. The resort is breathtakingly beautiful and offers a profound sense of peace and tranquility that is hard to find elsewhere. What truly made our experience stand out was the exceptional staff. Their attentive care and genuine hospitality were beyond our expectations. Thank you for an unforgettable retreat. We can’t wait to come back!

Very relaxing stay in Veranda! It was nice to spend 2 nights there, outside the city to disconnect peacefully! The pool view facing the mountain temple feels like a dream. The staff is so nice and the food was incredible, we had twice dinner with Thai food and amazing breakfast buffet! We also enjoyed their famous coffee scrub and oil massage at the spa. The room with private jacuzzi on the terrace was amazing. You can tell the hotel is a bit old, would need some renovation here and there but really was not important, everything was incredible! Loved it!

Hotel itself is beautiful in a very unique setting. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Rooms are beautiful but tired. While I have had exceptional experiences with the MGallery brand, the absence of international standards and consistency make me rethink the brand as a whole, particularly in developing countries. Compared to other equivalent 5-star hotels, the management of this hotel appears absent, and hygiene, particularly around food leaves a lot to be desired. Feels run like a local 4-star hotel for locals rather than what would be expected by international standards. More oversight from Accor is needed for MGallery hotels and additional training and exposure is needed for management team.

The wonderful experience began the moment we checked in and took the buggy to our room. While the staff was settling our luggage, my wife and I couldn't help but smile as we took in the space. ​The room was incredibly spacious, featuring a literal "veranda" that opened up to a stunning view of lush green trees and rice paddies. ​What we loved most was the outdoor setup—not only was there a private jacuzzi, but also a daybed. It felt like pure heaven to soak in the tub day or night, and then drift off to sleep under a cool breeze accompanied by the sound of birds. ​The breakfast and pool were equally impressive. Dining while gazing at the "White Pavilion" reflecting on the water, and witnessing the breathtaking sunset by the infinity pool, are memories I will never forget. ​Dinner was also excellent. We truly enjoyed authentic Thai flavors in the restaurant's warm and cozy atmosphere. ​It was a time of pure bliss where I could fully focus on rest and relaxation. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Chiang Mai.

We enjoyed our short stay at the MGallery Veranda resort which is situated in beautiful parkland in the hills about 30 minutes west of ChIang Mai city. It’s a short walk from/to the 700 years old Wat Ban Pong temple. On arrival at the resort we received a warm welcome from Khun Fern the front desk manager who efficiently processed our check-in whilst we enjoyed a refreshing glass of chilled lychee tea. Fern went into some detail explaining the geography of the resort and its foliage before we were taken to our room that had been prepared well in advance of our morning arrival. The panorama suite with private terrace pool was spacious, airy and spotlessly clean. Although the resort was built some 18 years ago, and some of the board deck areas are showing signs of age, the technology all worked and the internet was robust throughout our stay. Laundry was processed and delivered back in record time! The spa treatments are commendable enabling us to enjoy two massages and one salt scrub during our 24hour stay. Above all the staff at this resort provide efficiency blended with polite and well mannered greeting creating a sense of relaxed calm. Ka.

The hotel is beautifully surrounded by nature, but it is quite old and poorly maintained. The staff are awesome—helpful, friendly, attentive, and very hospitable. The location is far from downtown Chiang Mai. Every time we used Bolt or Grab, drivers asked for extra money beyond what was shown in the app. Regular taxis cost even more than Grab or Bolt, which made transportation very inconvenient. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle bus to the city, but it only runs every couple of hours. The worst part of our experience was that after checkout at 12:00 PM, guests are no longer allowed to use the shuttle bus. This policy felt rude, unreasonable, and lacking in kindness. Guests pay a lot of money to stay here, and good service should be a priority. It felt like the hotel completely ignored us after checkout. Don’t get me wrong—all of the Thai staff were wonderful. However, the hotel’s policies treat guests poorly. Because of this, I will never return to this hotel.

The property is located at a beautiful location with lush greenery and rich bird life. It is well worth the travel getting there. The property itself is slightly worse for wear especially the wood items which are not taking the weather well. Not a deal breaker, but notable for the tier of the resort. Food was great, especially room service, which was efficient and delicious.

I have been more than 5 times over the year to Veranda in Chiang Mai. What was a magic place and experience when it opened turned into a beautiful run down palace. The service is also not to the level anymore. All is not adapted to the price. The staff and manager do not know what a palace hotel service level is. I recommend a serious makeover. Untill then i will stop going to veranda. Good luck and do it fast.
