We stayed here for a couple of weeks in early September and had a lovely time throughout - we stayed in the adult only Sandy Lane section of the hotel. We were half-board rather than all inclusive.||From the very start when we arrived we were greeted by friendly faces, cold towels and drinks whilst being checked in. The staff gave us a tour of the facilities whilst our bags were being taken to the room.||The hotel has good facilities with two pools, two bars, two restaurants and a lovely beach. The rooms are well-equipped, with comfy beds and a lovely shower. Rooms are cleaned daily and all shared hotel facilities were always immaculately clean - even the sand is regularly raked to remove the footprints.||The hotel is very well located if you want to hire a car and explore the island, with a lot of interesting things to see and do nearby. The hotel car park could do with being a bit bigger though!||Food was very nice, though it was a little bit of a shame that there wasn't more Mauritian cuisine available at either the buffet restaurant or Sandy Lane. That said, the food that was on offer was very good, and the breakfast was surprisingly good as normally it's breakfast that lets hotels down.||The hotel 'vibe' is relaxed, with a large number of staff available at all times, though on occasion the Sandy Lane bar was unstaffed due to the restaurant often needing additional assistance.||Our only complaints, and they're minor, would be that if you're staying half-board the drinks at the bar are very, very expensive and this includes those which are offered free as part of the all-inclusive package. The prices are so high that it almost feels like you're being penalised for not being all inclusive - for example a half pint of beer costs more than a full pint at a posh bar on Port Louis harbour, which doesn't feel right. We would have definitely spent more time, and likely a lot more money, in the hotel if the drinks prices were more reasonable. The other complaint that if you're half-board you get charged for water with dinner - given water (and indeed tea and coffee) are free for half-board guests at breakfast (and free at all times for all inclusive guests) it did feel rather mean that we were charged for water at dinner.||However, these were minor issues in the grand scheme of things and we had a great time - we would highly recommend the hotel to others and would happily stay here again.
