The Best Restaurants in Jaipur for Outdoor Dining, From Rooftop Lounges to Microbreweries

"The Rambagh Palace has some of the best restaurants in Jaipur, of which The Verandah is one. Soak in the royal treatment there as you sit under umbrellas in the chic red chairs and taste inventive Indian dishes like the potato pancake mille-feuille with lentil ragout, paired with their finest range of teas."

"Relax Like Royalty Surrounded by acres of manicured gardens, marbled colonnades, and flower-filled pools, the complex of the Taj Rambagh Palace hotel—once the home of the Maharajah of Jaipur—is one of the most serene spots in the Pink City. Even if you’re notstaying here, come soak up the history—and escape the city bustle—with a lunch, afternoon tea, or a light supper at the al fresco Verandah Café, where the tables arearrayedunder archways and out onto the lawn. Come during the day and you might catch a glimpse of the hotel’s signature VIP guest welcome ceremony (performed by colorfully painted elephants), or call ahead to find out if there will be a dance or musical performance on the lawn in the evening. The menus feature both Indian and international dishes, with choices ranging from sampler thali platters and ratatouille-topped potato pancakes to charred German bratwurst and Caribbean chicken salad. Afternoon tea harkens back to the royal days with traditional English scones, finger sandwiches, and a tower of freshly-baked sweets; go for the Champagne add-on for an extra-regal experience."

Yes, you need a restaurant booking to get in if you are not staying here. We came to the Verandah restaurant for high tea late afternoon and then stayed for an early dinner. The grounds are beautiful. One of the few places in the world where a peacock tries to steal your salmon finger sandwiches 😁 It is quite beautiful and above all peaceful. Hard to hear any horns at all!!

High tea with peacocks 🦚🦚🦚🦚 Such a memorable experience with Verandah Cafe at Rambagh Palace. We decided to order the Indian and western high tea as we could relish and eat till heart content. While we ate we were delighted watching peacocks dancing and classical music being played. As the sun set the view was breathtaking. Excellent staff serving us the perfect tea and snacks. One of my best High tea experience.

Loved this place inside Rambagh Palace! Super clean, amazing atmosphere. I highly suggest the vegetarian sandwich. It’s surrounded by beautiful gardens with animals like peacocks and squirrels.

Worst experience from the beginning. I took the reservation a week earlier still when I reached the gates, I was denied entry as the guards couldn’t find my name on the reservation list and surprisingly very unsupportive behaviour of the guards as they told my family to just park the car on the side and clear this issues on our own (amazing). After numerous calls and speaking to various people, at last we got the entry. Still I must say this was just the beginning of what was about to happen. As we entered, no one to guide us towards the restaurant, no one to accompany us to the table ,we have to find people again and again ( truly delighting). When we are seated, the attendant gave us the menu and informed us that minimum we have to spend Rs 3,500 per person ( something that was not informed to me while taking the reservation nor they provided any such information about their lunch, High tea, dinner timings and minimum expenditure anywhere, nor any reservations confirmation on the mail or the number). I strongly believe that this property was not made for Indians as it only consider foreigners as their guests and it was clearly reflected in their behaviour towards my family from starting till end. Always I heard so many things about this place but I have never thought that this kind of discriminatory practise I will experience here. It’s not about money but rather how you made your guests feels, I felt I was not welcome here.

We try to enjoy the high tea in the Veranda restaurant in the Ranbagh palace from 16:00 to 18:00, first come first service , they cannot accept the reservation so far. The high tea has the two options by the continental style and Indian style by Rs2,500, but the three plates contain the 4 pcs Sandwich, 2 scones, 3 patisserie, 5 chocolate and cakes. The volume of high tea is not good for two persons, but for one person with tea. We dared to ask them additional small sandwiches add scones free of charge. We also asked them Two different teas free. You can see So many peacocks around the area of the hotels from the main gate to the entrance.

Supersonic service, polite and prompt staff, spacious to the hilt surrounded by the palatial architecture. What an awesome evening!!! Live music though wasn’t soothing to the ears. The singers couldn’t sing to save their lives. Haha. Leaving that aside, it’s a must visit for its authentic food n drinks.

Gorgeous settings outdoor Cafe offering amazing views over the Rambagh Palace grounds, very peaceful and calm place. The menu is extensive with both Indian and international food options. The food is good but not the best and the prices are on the high top end.
