Verena's Haus

We really enjoyed our stay. Mario is very sweet and fun. We chatted and ate empanadas on our first day. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. Town is just a few blocks away, perfect for ice cream and artisanal beer! They also provide bottled water and have a very nice breakfast room. We enjoyed our stay.

Very confortable room and clean house. Breakfast is very good they provide you with tasty cakes. Toilette didn't work perfectly and shower was difficult to regulate. Service was good although breakfast start very late for a place of this kind and they hadn't got a breakfast option if you wake up earlier due tk an excursion.

I will say the room itself deserves 4.5 stars. It was comfortable, quiet and clean with good wifi.|Breakfast is average. Our main issue was with the guy who ran the place who wasn’t all that friendly. He initially told us we had to pay in cash to be exempt of VAT/IVA then when I was looking up proof to the contrary he said he wouldn’t accept credit card for one nights stay and we had to pay cash. Whether it was language barrier or him changing his story I don’t know.|Booking.com said checkout was 11 but he said 10.

What a find this place was! First, the accommodations at Hosteria Verena's Haus far exceeded our expectations for a two star lodging option: location,comfort,spaciousness,cleanliness and breakfast offerings. However these are not the reasons we extended our two night stay to five nights. Mario, the owner, is the reason. The many forms of "beyond the norm" customer service Mario happily offered us equaled what one would find at a five star resort. Correction...it was far better as Mario is driven by his innate desire to insure his guests have an amazing time while in Ville La Angostura and the surrounding areas. He served as our interpreter, connected us to car rental, bus, airline services plus key visitor sites and experiences. Of special note...he also set my husband up with an inexpensive and knowledgable lake trout fishing guide: he landed a five pounder within the first 5 minutes. Then to our delight, Mario cooked us an amazing gourmet trout dinner. (Note: he offers affordable healthy, gourmet dinners when requested by guests or others who are lucky enough to know that his meals top any that can be found in town.) During peak Jan-Feb tourist times when restaurants are packed...this off-road dining option is worth pure Gold! Also of high value to us was Mario's infectious positive energy. I hadn't intended on staying in Villa La Angostura until I drove down the Main Street and felt the warmth of the little town. Verena's Haus is only one block off the Main Street making for much less road noise and is still very close shopping and eating. The room was the cleanest and nicest looking of all the places I stayed in Provincia Neuquen. Breakfast was good too with some sort of chocolate sauce syrup for the waffles and fruit (all the other places only had corn flakes toast and croissant).

What a nice place, on a good quiet location near the citycentre, good atmosphere, but the guy running the place (we cannot imagine he is the owner) is only interested in looking at his laptop with headphones on, so that he can not be bothered by guests.||Complains that he does not have enough guests, but still no time to make sure there are towels in the room, enough bread at breakfast, etc., etc., too busy with his laptop.||We took a chair from our bedroom to sit in the garden, the chairs there were very dirty, the guy is more interested in his laptop.||People calling for rooms available and he has to hurry to clean it, although it was already empty for at least 2 days. ||This guy is not interested in guests at all, does not ask anything or explain anything, what a pity he is spoiling such a nice place.

Cheap and cheerful, nice and clean and good value for money. Conveniently located in Villa, in one of the quiet streets that run parallel to the main Arrayanes drag, ideal place for relaxing.
