"The daily duck parade at Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate is quite the sight to behold. Every morning at 10 a.m., a single caller uses different whistles and motions to corral some one thousand Indian Runner ducks away from their pond and onto the grounds of the wine estate. While entertaining to watch, the parade is performed for more than just amusement—the ducks have been helping with pest control in the vineyards since 1984, devouring hundreds of snails, slugs, and other unwanted insects each day. Recently, the vineyard also started working with WWF South Africa and other conservation agencies in the region on a project related to indigenous waterfowl habitat rehabilitation. We stayed at Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate and had a wonderful experience. The property is absolutely beautiful, with stunning scenery and a very peaceful atmosphere. The staff were extremely attentive and welcoming, always making sure everything was perfect during our stay. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and perfectly paired with the wines. And of course, the famous duck parade is such a charming and unique highlight — something you really won’t find anywhere else! We would highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Stellenbosch.

I can’t thank the staff enough for the incredible hospitality throughout our stay. From reception, to the drivers, waiters, cleaners, gardeners, and management. Everyone was so friendly and treated us with professionalism and care. The facilities were immaculately well taken. We absolutely loved the exclusivity and intimacy of the entire state. Delightful architecture set in beautiful grounds. We had a wonderful one night stay and enjoyed the wine tasting with Billie. Our highlight was seeing the runner decks setting off to the vineyard. They were focussed on their job despite some getting distracted.. wonderful. The actual highlight though was the wonderful staff like Edwin, who drove us back and forth to dinner. Thank you guys 🙏

I originally went to this winery just to see the ducks, but I ended up having an incredible experience! It’s the most beautiful winery I’ve ever visited, and thanks to Loveness I had a wonderful introduction to exploring wineries. The wine tasting with Nolu was amazing — full of learning and great vibes. Highly recommended!

From our initial arrival to our departure we were greeted with a genuine welcome nothing was too much trouble the Staff made us feel special. The dinners were delicious and the tasting experience was informative the Pinotage and Rose won the prize !

Wonderful stay at vergenoegd Louw. The service was above and beyond, the food at the restaurant was fantastic and grown on the farm. The rooms are very spacious, the heated pool is properly heated (not like some “heated” pools that are lukewarm) and was one of the highlights for us given that the weather was actually quite chilly. The pool/deck area is very spacious with loungers and seating. Great bedroom with corner glass sliding doors - beautifully furnished. Spa treatment was really good too. The location in terms of surrounding areas isn’t the best, but once you are on the farm you can’t really tell.

I've booked a two night stay at the hotel for my honeymoon, and the room was wonderful, the food was amazing, the views were breathtaking, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. We had a spa day with massages and it was blissful. Highly recommend it for a relaxing getaway.
