Solid spot with a decent kitchen and solid enough beers. The food is a bit overpriced for what it offers, and the staff are young and seem overwhelmed. Came here two nights in a row and same story: bar area was operating fine, but everywhere else seemed a little overwhelmed. Staff kept giving one younger kid staff member shit about cleaning glasses or not doing enough, but he was keeping his head down and working hard. Weird dynamic there. Beer is average. Like an “everywhere else” 5 but a Vernal “8.” Worth swinging into.

Google
What a great find in Vernal. Nicest building in town delivered great service, a fantastic dinner, and great beer. The salmon salad was perfect.

This place was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. And it was gluten free. They have many gluten free options. Their staff was super friendly and the building and bathroom were really clean. Not too expensive either. Highly recommend this place!

Google
I really wanted to like this place and I was optimistic because the building is nice, and newer, very trendy, and the things on the menu sounded great (even though the menus are just laminated sheets of paper and a little worn-looking to be honest). My kids’ chicken strips and regular fries were great, but then I got my meal and it was a complete mess. Sweet potato fries that were shriveled and practically burnt, and an “adult grilled cheese” that was like 80% sour cream (flavors were decent but the bread got soggy before I could finish it and it kept oozing out every time I tried to take a bite). My husband’s burger had dripping wet tomatoes and a bunch of bleu cheese concentrated at the middle while the patty hardly had any flavor. This place is a little pricey, too, so this was very disappointing. The staff were very kind and friendly though.

Google
Definitely a disappointment. The beer was reasonably priced and my husband liked what he got but the food was very overpriced. The appetizer we got for a snack was just average tasting and not much for the price they charged. The biggest problem was the service though. It was terrible. We had to go find someone to help us twice while we were there, nobody was very welcoming or friendly the entire time, nobody checked on us to make sure we were happy with what we'd ordered, and they seemed put out if we did ask for something. We were shocked at how bad the service was. Another customer who was leaving when we did even commented to us in the parking lot that it was really bad service and he'd noticed us having to get up and find help twice. I would definitely never go back. The only reason I'm not giving it a 1 is because my husband liked the beer.

Google
Vernal Brewing crafts first rate beer and excellent food. This combination is extremely rare in my years of searching for a great brewery and a great restaurant. The people of Vernal UT are very fortunate. My greatest disappointment is that I live in New England! The shrimp and grits with creole sauce had a great depth of flavor with properly seared shrimp. I enjoyed the blood orange ale as well. A taste test of the smoked porter was excellent. I would recommend the porter though with the shrimp in grits, for when I come back.

Google
Prices a little high but the food portions make up for it. My daughter got the kids pizza and it would have been enough for an adult. Our glasses were never empty. The beer was delicious my fav was the rigamortus red. I would definitely go again.

Google
The food was really good. I had the poutine with sweet potato fries. My husband had the meat lovers pizza. We had plenty of leftovers for later. For dessert we had the ,50 caliber carrot cake. OMG! It was worth every calorie! It came in a cast iron skillet and was huge. Thank goodness we shared it.

Yelp
Pros: -Drinks: Beer was good (husband ordered the pale), one of my kids ordered the strawberry Italian soda and it was yummy. -Ambiance was nice -Service was good -Food: My kid enjoyed the kids cheeseburger and the portion was large for a kid. My husband ordered the evil burger and liked it. Cons: -Drinks: I did not enjoy the Cadillac margarita. Tasted too much like sweet and sour mix. -Food: the Cesar salad was too heavy in dressing. The kids chicken strips seemed a little overcooked.

Yelp
We were excited to support a local business instead of a chain after seeing the positive reviews, but unfortunately our experience wasn't great. Our server was fine, but service was slow. It took a long time for us to be greeted after we were seated that we almost left. Our food took a decent amount of time to come out too, I did notice that a few people who came in after us received food before us. The food itself was just okay and a bit pricey for the quality of what we received. We also had to ask for silverware when our meals arrived. I can't speak to the beer - maybe this is where they really shine. Overall we were disappointed in our experience and would not return. Maybe we caught them on an off night.

Yelp
Better than average food, wonderful service. Ambiance is awesome. A brewery so of course it's cool.

Yelp
Very, very impressed with this establishment. Totally random find on Yelp while traveling thru the area. The service was excellent! The food to die for, the beer was above average. I had the chicken pot pie. It wasn't in a crust though, it had a piece of puff pastry. It was excellent!!! The chunks of chicken were very tender and flavorful. The gravy was savory and delish. My wife had the tostado and she said she love it! The place looks brand new, we asked when it opened and the bartender said they have been open for ten years. The bathrooms were super clean. Just an overall great visit!

Yelp
A happy accident changed our plans to eat here and boy are we glad!! Our server, Tonya, was also apparently one of the cooks/chefs and we are truly impressed. I started the evening with the brewery's special "He's a She" ale. It's blue!! Blue raspberry beer. I swear it's much better than you think!! It even has sparkling glitter in it! I also enjoyed the meat grinder pizza. The crust was remarkable- just thin and crispy enough and my favorite corn meal and olive oil bottom just guarantees a good slice! The cheese on it tasted fresh and I loved the big chunks of ham and sausage. Next up was as the adult's grilled cheese- this isn't your average American or cheddar, it was Swiss, cream cheese and Parmesan and she selected the sourdough bread. Said the bread is important to the overall experience. The beer cheese soup tastes very similar to one in Germany. The shrimp and grits were tasty and correctly prepared. But the star of the night was a special not on the menu: a backyard Bbq hamburger. This thing was not for the faint at heart- you better come hungry! It was a burger piled high with pulled pork bbq, slaw and some beautiful pickles on a giant Kaiser style roll. I bet it was a pound of food. It's stupid good. This is the creation of our waitress/cook, Tonya and I feel I have to give the shout out to get this added to the regular menu. You local folks will have to order it on the regular! Too stuffed to eat our desserts, we ordered them to go and they were fantastic- the carrot cake is sublime and the skillet walnut chocolate chip cookies decadent. We felt comfortable and relaxed, the 80s tunes in the background were great, and I'd recommend this to both regulars and tourists like me. There's a patio for al fresco dining as well. Thanks VBC for a great visit!

Yelp
Went back 2 days in a row! Brussel sprouts were crispy, salty & sweet. Excellent French fries. Loved the Mac n cheese and burger. Friendly staff and nice ambiance. Good they have a kitchen garden in the back.

Yelp
Had lunch here after our short pit stop at dinosaur national monument and were certainly not disappointed. First, the building is beautiful. My boyfriend thought we were at the wrong place because of how nice it looked. We were sat quickly, had our order taken quickly and received our food quickly. The food, was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the VBC burger, which he devoured. I ordered the steak salad, which I only remembered to take a picture of it halfway through. Will stop here again next time we are passing through.
google avatar

Yelp
We stopped here after visiting Dinosaur National Monument and we enjoyed our food; we got chips and salsa and a stacked tostada. The food was cooked well and had great flavor. The beer was a letdown though and my flight was middle of the road at best. We also didn't have the best service as our server was very slow to come to our table despite it being a quieter afternoon. Given the good reviews overall, I suspect that we just caught them on an off day though as most people seem to have had a good experience. We would probably stop here again for food, but would avoid their beer.

Yelp
Had the beat salad and a mushroom burger. Food was good, fresh and tasty. The best part was the service, Karly was fantastic. Our ice teas were constantly refilled, and she was attentive and friendly. Interior is clean and fun. Perfect stop on our drive from salt lake to steamboat.

Yelp
.50 IPA and shrimp and grits for dinner. Grits are cheesy and creamy. It is a sunny evening and the patio is open and a great vivid in Vernal tonight.

Yelp
I took a little weekend road trip to Vernal with plans to visit the nearby Dinosaur National Monument, and I found this restaurant on Yelp. The parking lot was packed with cars with local plates (great sign) and there was a wait when I arrived, but the hostess seated me quickly in the bar area. The atmosphere is classic brew pub. It's a bit noisy with uncomfortable high top chair seating in the bar. There's a cool picture window that overlooks the brewery tanks. The menu is full of appealing-sounding American favorites (pizza, fries, nachos, burgers) at fair prices. There are a lot of beer options, including sampler trays that you can order if you want to try different brews. I loved how all their beers were named for dinosaurs, so I opted for a dark stout. It was tasty and had a nice chocolate finish. Since their beer cheese soup is supposedly "famous," I got that. It was gross. The texture was unpleasant, and it did not taste good. I would avoid this soup, and I usually love stuff like that. For dinner, I got a classic burger with sweet potato fries. The burger meat was high quality and the fries were good. I don't have any complaints. The burger patty was a little small, but the kitchen made up for it with a giant pile of fries. I didn't expect a restaurant in Vernal to knock my socks off because it's not exactly a culinary mecca of the country. But for pub food, this was a-okay. I was really excited when I walked in to see that the tvs were showing sports, including a WNBA game (featuring my home team, the Las Vegas Aces). Pretty rad that they devoted a television to women's sports. That in itself is worth a star in my book!
google avatar

Shiloh B.

Yelp
The service was great. They have a dog friendly patio which comes in clutch when traveling through with your pet. The VCB burger was incredible and while I didn't try their beers I did have one of the best margaritas o have ever tasted!

Patricia H.

Yelp
Really good Americana pizza. Decent price. Our server Tonya was great! Not sure there was much alcohol in my grape sour cocktail. Nice decor

Yelp
Excellent food at a great price. The service was excellent too. We sat outside and enjoyed the pleasant weather.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this brewery for a while but Vernal is more often than not a bit out of my way when visiting home so it often doesn't get many visits from me. For this brewery I had a smoked porter, the name was Directional Smoked Porter. This porter proved to be more on the lighter side which is fine by me. It also had a roasty and coffee flavor to it. I found this beer quite enjoyable and I am glad I finally got the opportunity to try their beer!
google avatar

Tamara T.

Yelp
I really wanted to love it here. We were on our way from the SLC area to Streamboat Springs. I love beer. Ordered their .50 IPA and honestly it was the worst IPA I've ever had. I couldn't finish it and that's saying a lot from someone who doesn't like to waste a drop of beer. At least the beer prices were good. The food prices were outrageous. $18 for the lettuce wraps and honestly they were the worst lettuce wraps I've had. The lettuce was wilty and scarce. Again, I really wanted to love it here but the beer was just OK and the food was way overpriced... Wouldn't go back...

Yelp
Definitely impressed with this little brewery in Vernal Utah. Our waitress Brandi was awesome. Loved her and her recommendations. Great beer great food great dessert all wins.

Yelp
We were visiting for 1 night and the gluten free options made me choose this place and HOLY CRAP am glad we did!!! Our table split the nachos as an appetizer and they were fantastic!!! I had the VBC burger and while the burger was sooo good, the fries were the best I'd had probably ever. Also eaten at our table were steak cheese fries, baked pasta and the American burger. Will DEF go back again!! Highly recommend this place and the food! And they had gluten free hamburger buns (YAY!) the server was very knowledgeable about gluten, which isn't super common.

Yelp
Great experience! Food was good. We had lettuce wraps and wings. Beer was great. Nice variety. Service was perfect. Atmosphere and cleanliness was topnotch. Happy to recommend.

Yelp
This is one of the best brewery restaurants in Utah. The food is excellent and perfectly executed on the plate. I just had one of their daily specials the green chili burger and it was great. They brew really good beer and offer a wide range of options. Because it's located in a small town the service and clientele are relaxed and friendly. It's a must visit for me.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance were excellent. I had the adult grilled cheese sandwich with candied bacon as recommended by our wait staff. It was delicious. The Brussel sprouts and peach beet were great accompaniments. Highly recommend the Venal Brewry.

Yelp
This is a cool modern brewery with a very diverse menu. Service is very slow even when they are not busy. Watch the bartenders are they might short your drink. Communication with the kitchen is lacking. I have had to send things back because they were not prepared properly. When your food arrives, it will be a nice portion and great flavors.

Yelp
I left a review on Saturday. I wanted to add that I called on Saturday evening to talk to a supervisor/owner. I was told there is neither there. I left my name and number for a call back. Heard nothing back. Called today and was told the same thing. Seems to be a good reason why this place not that well run. Has definite potential but the attitude of the workers definitely makes you not want to go there.

Yelp
I got take out. I had some cheesesteak fries. I asked for half regular fries and half sweet potato fries.. they did it right. It was pretty good! But I think since it was for take out they didn't expect a tip and they were kinda rude. On top of that, the menu online said $16 and I got charged $22... so maybe they added the tip in there, and I felt no need to offer any further gratuity. Very modern style room, but it kinda lacked any sort of feeling. Kinda utilitarian, which is fine, but when I go to a small town historical town, I like to see something to make it seem like they care about that, but to each their own. 3 stars for decent food. People in Vernal need to be nicer. It's tourist town.. I used to live there... I get it, tourists can often be weird, but dernit, act like the people that come into your establishment actually matter to the success of your business.

Yelp
If you are in Vernal, UT this is definitely the place to go!! The service was spectacular, the restaurant was clean and the decor was highly enjoyable. I had a cup of tomato soup and grill cheese and it was spectacular! I can honestly say I'm very picky about my tomato soup and I've never been to a restaurant where I liked it until now! Their tomato soup is amazing! It tastes how tomato soup should taste- tomato and the hint of Parmesan cheeses and oil compliments the over smoothness of the whole soup. If you like tomato soup get it, you won't be disappointed! The grill cheese is also just as amazing- the sandwhich isn't greasy- it's perfectly cooked with this amazing cheesy that is light and fluffy. I 3/4 of the whole sandwhich and it didn't feel like I had a food baby I'm my stomach lol. My BF had the All American burger. He said it was delicious! Perfectly cooked and great flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Yelp
Both the beer and the food are amazing. The first time we were there we got a pizza and tried most of the beers on tap, and the second time we got the muffuletta. Both visits were awesome.
google avatar

Valerie Y.

Yelp
Clean & modern interior with friendly servers. Had a great meal here after a hot day on the trails. I enjoyed the fish & chips. The beer and house sodas were really good, especially the orange green soda. They handled a gluten allergy well and gave options (unfortunately the fries are not gluten-free).

Yelp
Great food great service thank you if it wasn't for my girl friends family that scrwed her ‍

Yelp
Enjoyed the beer, food and service. Really fun to find this little Gastropub in Vernal. The burger was one of the best I've had and my kids loved the pizza. The staff was friendly. Bonus points: my kid left his (NEW!) iPad, they found it, and I was able to come back and get it from them.

Yelp
This place was absolutely perfect in every way. The burgers are amazing, cooked to perfection, the Mac and cheese was outstanding, perfect meltiness and delicious bacon. This place is just one of the best places to eat. 10 out of 10 5 stars for me. Beautiful.

Yelp
DOG FRIENDLY in outside patio Beautiful glass exterior, lovely garden area with strawberries and hops growing. We Walked in entrance beautiful open area. It took about 5 minutes before being seated in patio area (per my request since I have dogs) Leeanny was our hostess. She was working really efficiently to get everyone seated asap. She was so friendly after sitting us, she asked if she could bring us a bowl of water for our dogs. It wasn't long before our waitress Brandie came to take our drink order. We asked for a couple of samples. FYI it .01 per taste, we have never had a brewery do that. It makes sense...after all it cost them in materials, staff being tied up repeatedly running for samples. Brandie seemed rushed but professional. Found out she was the bartender, explains why she seemed short and rushed with us. I had the stacked tostada...not what I envisioned but tasty. Three corn tortillas stacked, in between each was pork and a chili like sauce topped with onions and tomatoes. The sauce had a great flavor with slight heat. My partner tried as well he really liked the flavors. I paired it with their lager, great pairing. My partner had the Deconstructed Gyro...he really enjoyed it. The chicken is white meat cooked on wooden skewer. He paired it with their Mama's Milk stout, paired nicely for him. Yes, I would recommend them. I really enjoyed the outdoor patio area...it was a perfect day to seat outside. Footnote The restrooms were dark appeared clean and elegant deco.

Yelp
We ordered a steak salad. The presentation was pretty but VERY difficult to eat. Mainly artisan type lettuce with carrot garnishes and pickled onions. Steak could have been a little more generous for the price. The chef needs to rethink this dish. Use Romaine mixed with artisan lettuce, more garnishes, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. and more steak. I would never order this again. Ambiance was nice. Service great. I gave it a 3 stars for the pretty but disappointing salad. One felt like a cow trying to eat the enormous amount of huge pieces of lettuce. One couldn't even cut the lettuce up to make it neater shoving it in one's mouth.

Yelp
Totally surprised there's such a trendy spot for a small town like Vernal. When we got here at ~8pm the place was still bustling! The establishment looked cool, with high ceiling and unique decorative stuff. The waitress was a bit disappointed that we didn't order anything to drink, especially since we set foot in a Brewing Company. Oh well, I was accompanying three very hungry souls, lol. We started with Chips and Salsa. The chips were thick-cut (love) and the salsa very refreshing. First good impression. My Caesar salad was HUGE! So glad that's all I ordered. It even came with two slices of toasted Italian bread! Everything looked and tasted fresh, again, impressed as it was close to closing time! While waiting for his food, the waitress got hubby to order a bowl of queso for the remaining chips (guess the salsa was so good we finished it!) I thought the queso was unnecessary since dad ordered Carbonara (that would make it too much creamy sauce based dishes since in our family, we share everything!) BTW the waitress got him to top his pasta with steak. She surely did a good job getting us to order more than we had in mind, lol. Finally hubby's Pork Chop came, it looked beautiful. I remember picking out and eating all the broccolini and mushroom! Lastly, mom's Citrus Salmon was also very presentable. On a bed of healthy greens, cherry tomatoes and citrus dressing. However, the piece of salmon was overcooked, it ended up being too chewy. All in all, we had a good meal here!

Yelp
The food here is different but still delicious. The restaurant is nice and spacious. The service is nice and fairly quick.

Yelp
Delicious food, drinks and wonderful service! Would definitely go again. Easy to get to after the dinosaur museum.

Yelp
Great service and delicious food. All the beer I have tried so far has slapped as well
google avatar

Meg L.

Yelp
Had a great lunch with friends, such a fortunate find. They offer a good range of beers with true difference in flavor between each. Great food, friendly service. Will make a point to stop by the next time I'm passing through Vernal! Sidenote, dog friendly patio!
google avatar

Yelp
If you are in Vernal, the Vernal Brewing Company is a must visit food location. They do not have a large food menu, but what's on the menu is amazing. We started with chips then a burger and side salad for my main course. Probably one of the better burgers I have ever had! They had a great beer selection too, so was able to get a flight to try a few different ones. I also really loved the inside atmosphere. Would love to be able to go back during warmer months to try the patio!

Heather B.

Yelp
Vernal Brewing Company has the best drinks and the best food in Vernal. The manager Jamie was super helpful when recommending a yummy drink pairing with a food recommendation. The vibe is chill and an unexpected surprise in little Vernal.
google avatar

Jessica W.

Yelp
The food was fantastic! Highly recommend the carbonara! It was one of the best I've ever had. I didn't expect to enter a brewery and want such a dish! The service was lacking, but I can 100% say it isn't universal and was solely our server. The other servers seemed to be very attentive to their tables. We asked another server to find ours and then watched her duck into the kitchen before checking on another table and heading to us. After I asked for something, she got my companions drink wrong and forgot mine completely. I didn't bother asking for it because she gave us the check, so I felt dismissed. We had to bring it to the counter to pay because she never came back.

Margie P.

Yelp
Very accommodating for our party of 12. Everyone got what they wanted. Service was excellent!

Yelp
This is a true hidden gem in the middle of not much. Walked in to one of the nicest kept restaurants I have been to in awhile. Our waitress was beyond friendly and sold us on a champagne cocktail and a deconstructed gyro. Both were fantastic. We tried the .50 caliber and harvest beers which a very strong and flavorful. Highly recommended.

Patty P.

Yelp
Fantastic beer. Beautiful building. Great service and really good food. Had the charcuterie board-was really good!

Julie B.

Yelp
Traveling through town and noticed this new-looking brew pub had outdoor seating where our pup could join us. Comfortable covered patio, great ambiance inside and attentive service too. Server even brought water out for our dog without us asking! Food was fantastic (Club Sandwich, chicken wings and chips, queso and salsa) - generous portions on all plates. Great beer and other specialty drinks on the menu too. If we lived in this area, we'd definitely be frequent fliers!
google avatar

Todd W.

Yelp
Impressive and new. Excellent food and extensive beverage menu. I had an orange cream soda. Delicious. Friend had beer, good. Decent service. I recommend this for lunch or dinner. Hip atmosphere. Evil Burger good.

Yelp
Stopped in Vernal for a quick bite to eat during a road trip and definitely picked the right place! The food was delicious, good quality, and very filling! I ordered the Mac N Cheese with pulled pork and it was TASTY! The 1/2 size was plenty to fill me up too! Other highlights at our table were the Evil Burger and the Fried Chicken Sandwich. The fish tacos were good but the salsa was a bit too spicy for our taste. We loved that the menu had a large variety of items because it was easy for everyone to find something they liked! Overall super happy with our decision to come here. It's a bit expensive but totally worth it. The service and atmosphere were also great. I'll stop here again if I'm in the area!
google avatar

Mike D.

Yelp
Absolutely one of my favorite breweries. Excellent beer, delicious food and awesome service. I had the blackened salmon tacos. Brandie suggested a sauce that elevated them to the next level. I took a 6 pack back to California to share. Enjoy!
google avatar

Katrina S.

Yelp
After leaving Dinosaur National Park, we were in search of dinner. In reviewing what we wanted, we decided on burgers and were pleasantly surprised with their menu. We ordered the VBC Burger with Sweet Potato fries and the Evil Burger with Salt & Pepper Fries. Both burgers were extremely filling and absolutely delicious. Between the fries, both were good but the sweet potato fries were some of the best I've had. Yum! Make sure to stop by here.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, staff was very friendly, good beer, good food, and the bartender made me one of the best Old Fashion's I've had in a long time!!
