"Shaken, not stirred: cocktails in a gentleman's club A classic Manhattan - paired with a hot dog? You heard that right. Granted, these are gourmet hot dogs. But only the bold and imaginative Fede Cuco, one of the city's premiere bartenders (considered something of a celebrity barman, even, on the local food and drink scene) would dream of pulling it off. But pull it off he does - and quite well, at that. Verne Club, a gentleman's club-style cocktail lounge inspired by Jules Verne, is one of Palermo's newest hot spots for pre-dinner aperitifs or late-night drinks. Sink into a plush leather armchair and try Cuco's Negroni sbagliato - and a hot dog, too, of course."

"Walking into Verne is like stepping back in time—one inspired by Jules Verne and his imagined adventures under the sea and to the center of the earth. Picture deep leather Chesterfield style sofas, little brass wheels and bits and pieces from indeterminate object hanging on the exposed brick walls, framed Victorian-style illustrations of machinery from an imagined future, vintage goggles, and boxy TV sets displayed with reverence. The place is as fun as it looks with cocktails to match." - Celeste Moure

Verne Cocktail Club, Buenos Aires, Argentina - Bar Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"First impression? Walking into Verne is like stepping back in time—one inspired by Jules Verne and his imagined adventures under the sea and to the center of the earth. Picture deep leather Chesterfield style sofas, little brass wheels and bits and pieces from indeterminate object hanging on the exposed brick walls, framed Victorian-style illustrations of machinery from an imagined future, vintage goggles, and boxy TV sets displayed with reverence. The place is as fun as it looks with cocktails to match. Cool. So who’s there? Instead of explorers and aviators with pith helmets and birdlike gadgets, your barmates are most likely dressed head-to-toe in black, probably sporting ripped-at-the-knees pants or fishnet stockings. These 21st-century cyberpunks also have devices, the kind where every moment captured is shared: #lit. How are the drinks? The Verne theme continues on the "Around the World in 80 Cocktails" menu with drinks named after cities. You'll want to try them all. Worth ordering something to eat, too? At Verne the bar snacks are elevated to an art form—think osobuco quesadillas, shrimp & chips, halloumi and mushroom sliders, and artisanal hot dogs. Did the staff do you right? If the owner, Fede Cuco, is there, he is probably chatting about his favorite bitter or ingredient to whoever he's crafting a drink for on the fly. The rest of the team are also friendly, though at times service is slow because of how popular the bar has become. Wrap it up: what are we coming here for? This is the perfect spot to bring a date or someone you want to impress. The crowd is mostly locals, fashionably dressed and having a good time." - Celeste Moure

Google
Knock on the door, take a deep breathe and be ready to be transported to another dimension. The ambiance is an immersive experience into a Jules Verne book. The furniture, the wall art behind the bar, the bar top, the bathroom doors, and the patio!! Cocktails are amazing, food is excellent and the music is on par with the experience. The bar team is out of this world.

Google
Great cocktail bar in Buenos Aires! The vibe is great with dark interior and there is an amazing outside area. I had two rounds, both cocktails were really great! Bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable.

Couldn’t stop ordering cocktails—El Príncipe Francés was my favorite. The tacos and gyozas were delicious. A bit pricey, but totally worth it for the quality. Great spot!

Google
Top spot in Buenos Aires. Great food, cocktails , atmosphere, and most important, service. The place has kept it's great quality y over the 5 last year's and is definitely a must for anyone who wants to enjoy a nice drink and snack (or light dinner) at a place with a bohemian vibe. Expect to pay around 10 usd for a cocktail and "tapas" per person.

Google
This place is outstanding. One of the best drinks we have tried with my husband. Sebastian and Emiliano were absolutely wonderful and make such an effort in communication even in English. The staff here is really friendly polite and helpful. Food is really good and drinks are even better. 100% recommend

Google
I love this bar! They have a limited food menu, but everything is delicious. The vegan dumplings and the hummus toasts are excellent. The cocktail menu changes with the season, and it never ceases to amaze me—each drink is better than the last, with options for every taste. The service is great; I’ve always sat either on the patio or at the bar, and I absolutely love the place.

Google
It's easily one of the best spots to go out on a date, or to have a chill hangout with Friends. The inside seating has whiskey lounge vibes, and the outside seating has Hawaiian vibes. All the drinks we tried were a bit sweeter than we like but they were still full of flavor and came with incredible table side presentation. It's one of few places where you can get good goyza and tacos in the same place.

Google
Such a cool cocktail bar! If you want loud music and glitz...this isn't the place for you. However if you want refinement & sophistication and aching coolness...step right this way. We spent a fascinating hour at the bar, chatting to the bartender and watching him make these incredible concoctions with all manner of cocktail tools we'd never seen before - the egg white skewer, the razor sharp strip zester and the ice-filled water still that slowly dissolved a cube of sugar into a glass of absinthe...amazing! There is a green palm-filled side patio outside or deep leather sofas & chairs inside, depending on how cool you're feeling. If this place was a suit, it would be made to measure Saville Row...with a natty little handkerchief in the breast pocket - elegant with a touch of attitude - perfect!

Yelp
What a great vibe! These bartenders are serious professionals and craft a great cocktail. This was my go to spot for a month in Buenos Aires

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places in the city because it's a triple threat: interesting, well-balanced cocktails, really good food, amazing ambiance. This is quite difficult to find and they do and exceptional job.

Yelp
Moody and intimate, sophisticated atmosphere, delicious cocktails. Fernando at the bar was wonderful (Fernando, if you read this, let us know about the Pink Panther!). Highly recommended for a tête-à-tête with someone you love or just enjoy talking to.

Yelp
This place is fabulous! We had a great time and we are absolutely coming back. Good drinks, very original, the music is seductive and not loud and beautiful setting.

Yelp
Fantastic cocktails. Do not come here to just drink a beer-the bartenders are highly skilled, and the cocktail menu is complex and inspired. The interior is dark and mysterious, with a vintage Havana vibe. Soft jazz plays at a medium decibel that sets a mood without interrupting conversation. The place is quite large, with plenty of bar and table seating. The crowd was mixed with locals of all ages, and a few foreigners like us. My favorite drink that I tried was the "Confusion", which features jalapeño infused cherry brandy mixed with Campari and Triple Sec. The balance of sweet and spicy was perfect, and unlike anything I had ever tasted before. My second favorite was one my boyfriend got called "Kazonnde", a refreshing Havana rum based cocktail with citrus flavors, a kick of cinnamon, and an unexpected splash of beer on top. It was shocking to realize that these cocktails are priced 180-200 Argentinian Pesos, which is only about $5-$6 USD. This caliber of cocktail would easily be $15-$20 in LA or NYC. These drinks take some time to make, so be prepared to wait a bit. Watching the process was entertainment in itself, particularly the infusions of various flavors into an individual glass. I will definitely come back the next time we are in Buenos Aires.

Yelp
This place is a complete disaster. We've been waiting for our drinks for almost an hour. A complete mess and nobody cares! Avoid! OMG, drinks finally came and they are tiny! A complete rip off! Bad and full of ice.

Yelp
Very cool atmosphere. Cocktails are strong. Chill relaxing intimate vibe. Great for a date. Dj played sexy jazz. Very cool will come back!!

Yelp
This is when you cried and went vulnerable on me and we went into a dinner and I told you, Hey it is time to talk about our EXES. What HAPPENED? I AM NOT THEM I AM BETTER. SO Let's talk. Let's get a FRINK.

Yelp
This is the second speakeasy I have been to. We had A very good experience. We ordered 4 items off the food menu that was very tasty. We also had 4 different cocktails that was very good. I really enjoyed the layout of the bar and the decor. Great service too.

Yelp
We had a phenomenal experience at Verne Club last week while visiting Buenos Aires. There are a number of "speakeasy" type of bars in BA and they love the secretive concept. But Verne Club was the single most authentic feeling speakeasy type of bar we visited while in BA. It's not hard to get into, and it's not hard to make a reservation. You can do it right from their website. But the bar itself is completely unassuming and if you're not careful you would walk right by it assuming it's a house on a quiet neighborhood street. Not so. Once we walked in we were seated immediately for our reservation. It was a Sunday night and relatively empty at 10pm, but by 11pm the place had filled up to a decent amount. While not every cocktail was perfect (the wine cocktails were a little weird) - they have two special cocktails that are complete slam dunks. The opium old fashioned was one of the best drinks I've ever had (and it was with Jim Beam of all things!) and the Jazmin Blanco was possibly one of the second best drinks I've ever had. Both are amazing. Try them both. The opium old fashioned comes smoking at your table and the inhale experience on your first sip is unforgettable. The food is also very good and the hot dogs were excellent. While my friend and I left around 1am, our husbands stayed on and ended up staying and chatting with Samurai, the owner, after the bar closed for the night. Verne Club was by far one of our most memorable experiences in Buenos Aires and one of our most enjoyable nights. If you're into craft cocktails, and a cool and chill vibe, this is the place for you.

Yelp
I went on Saturday with some friends to celebrate my birthday, we tried the gourmet hotdogs and drank some cocktails. I made the mistake of not booking a table before hand, but the receptionist was kind enough to accommodate my group after a few minutes in a table were we could all comfortably sit. Everything was perfect, the hotdogs tasted amazing and the drinks were superb. Sarah, our waitress, made us feel very welcome and never stopped smiling. I strongly recommend this place to have dinner, drink tasteful cocktails and enjoy a good atmosphere.

Yelp
Great cocktails. Craft drinks made to perfection. Cool place even tho it looks nothing like Brooklyn.

Yelp
What a location! Not far from the clubs, bars and cafes of Palermo Soho you can find this special Cocktail Bar. The bar is themed after the novels of Jules Verne. For example, there are big leather sofas like in an English Gentleman's Club and the bar looks a tiny bit like you are stuck with Captain Nemo on the Nautilus. The Cocktails here are great - not your standard Caipirinha or Pisco Sour, but very unusual mixtures with interesting twists. The Club opens around 9 o'clock, but you will be more or less alone here at this time. But if you like an early and quiet start into the evening, this is the time and place. We really liked it here and would definitely come back any time we find ourselves in Buenos Aires again.

Yelp
Cool speakeasy spot my Brother-in-law found. Played great Jazz & I felt like I had stepped back in time. My sister and I kept remarking that it felt like a mafioso gangster was gonna come in with a tommy gun & take us out! Lmao...had the California Sour & another drink our waitress recommended in which she sprayed St. Germaine on top. I recommend both drinks if you're into sweeter or more balanced cocktails (I don't like strong tasting)! My sister & brother-in-law both liked their drinks. We also tried some bread/potato like balls filled with gooey warm cheese with a guacomole like garnish sauce as an appetizer. Nothing to write home about but the experience of being in this place surely was!

Yelp
we were spoiled by coming to verne club on a rainy monday so we got to hang out with the owner and some of the excellent staff and shoot the sh*t about absinthe and the burgeoning BsAs craft cocktail scene. Gorgeous dark room and patio - great old school lounge music (50s-60s-sinatra/big band) crowd was a mix of hip locals and hip tourists ;-D This was my favorite cocktail bar in BsAs. definitely worth a visit

Yelp
My go to never fail spot for a good cocktail. You can get them to make pretty much any thing you want here in addition to the menu even though the drinks on the menu are fantastic. If you are a whiskey person you have to try the opium fashioned

Yelp
Just spent a drink night with the wife there, and must say I loved it. Drinks were fine, the bartender suggestions were perfectly fitting, although I must say bar service was a bit on the slow end. The mood just rocks: this was a sunday night and the place was like an oasis. The DJ was playing jazz, and although it was full house, they were careful not to spoil it by getting crowded. We tasted the maracuya dessert, and even though it was nice, I did find it a bit lacking in taste, maybe it just wasn't for me.

Yelp
Fun place and outstanding drinks! Loved the outside Havana vibe!

Yelp
Being from NYC, I can't lie this place was pretty impressive. The interior decor music and setting all up to par. The bartenders are pretty friendly and artists at what they make, however occasionally slightly sloppy. . I had the jasmine inspired drink, Bombay, which is amazing it even has dried jasmine flowers in it. Second drink I had which was the vermouth of spring was less impressive, more than anything it just tasted like vermouth. For food I had the middle of the earth hot dog, which were served with house made potato chips of which I've never seen a single potato cut lengthwise and made into a potato chip which was pretty cool. The server offered to spray some black truffle oil as it stated on the menu however he did it without looking and ended up spraying the plate and table rather than the hot dog so that was a bit of a waste. Regardless hot dog was pretty darn good and the bread was slightly dry. I had the beef brochettes as well which were pretty good most of the cuts of meat were solid though there were some suspect pieces. There is a puree with it but they do not give you any utensils to eat them. So I assume that it was supposed to be used as a dip for the meat

Yelp
Just stumbled upon this place walking on the streets on buenos Aires .awesome decor music and drinks ! Just relaxed through the evening ! Great place to chill with friends or cozy talk with Hubby .

Yelp
The best! Fede is great and the bar is beautiful. Excellent drinks and tasty panchos if you're in the mood. Swanky enough for a date or just going out with a group.

Yelp
Great, medium sized cocktail bar. I came here on a Thursday night at 10:45 PM and grabbed the last table with my girlfriend. The service was quick. I tried the Yokohoma Themed (vodka infused) cocktail and one other with Gin. It wasn't to pricey, or loud, really the perfect combination. It's a good choice for a date, but I woudln't take a large group here. I think the outside area would be nice in warmer weather. Recommended.

Yelp
One of the best bars I've been to in Buenos Aires. Has a great ambiance both at the bar and in the seated lounge area. The drinks are all very well made and incredibly interesting, and the tapas, while small, are delicious. We were encouraged to come back for a second night in a row to try The rest of the specialty cocktails on the menu. I highly recommend this cocktail bar.
