I didn’t stay here but came across this honesty stall on a walk around Bryher, it’s delicious and card was accepted.

We stayed at Shippen last year for a week for the first time. Jeff and Kris were great hosts, welcoming us from the boat and we had a huge homemade cream tea when we arrived.||The cottage was very pretty, spotless with comfortable beds. The views from the upstairs living room were amazing. We loved watching the boats coming and going everyday. Shippen also has a beautiful garden, we sat out there most days for dinner. (And it's only a 2 minute walk to Kris's fudge stall!) Bryher is a lovely island, very quiet and peaceful. We will be back!

I have been visiting Bryher since the age of 4 ( 30 years ago now). We stay in Shippen now but have also stayed in Hebe and Fernside. All the accommodation is clean and comfy, and the facilities are great, you can get up and make a breakfast with hillside farm eggs, and bacon and freshly made bread from Bryher shop. I love waking up and looking out of the window with views of the fields and the sea. For me it's the best place in the world and Shippen is a home from home.

I was visiting Bryher for the first time in fifty years. I stayed in Hebe, which I believe is smaller than Shippen and attached to the main farm. It is an excellent base for Bryher, centrally-located -- but then again nowhere on Bryher is far. Everything is clean, modern, and with WiFi. It is cozy, appropriate for a couple or (like me) someone traveling solo. When the weather obliged, which it did sometimes, I ate outside at a table just in front. The hosts were helpful with advice, and at each end of my stay by carrying bags to the boat.

Since my previous review a high speed wi fi connection has been installed and mobiles work from the cottage - happy teenagers! Furnishings have been updated, and there is a new kitchen - with a decent sized freezer, as well as a fridge.||The cottage has wonderful views across to tresco and the channel between the two island.||Geoff meets you from the launch to take your luggage, and fresh flowers. St Agnes toiletries and fresh scones with jam and clotted cream are ready in the kitchen. Towels and beach towels supplied. The cottage is ideal for a family holiday

Loved every minute, very comfortable, a great welcome. Bryher was stunning, lovely beaches and rugged rocks. Calm seas and wild as well. We were fortunate to have great weather. Left to our own devices but help available when we needed it. Booked again for next year.

Fernside is an early/mid 20th century timber clad cottage set on the hillside overlooking the channel to Tresco, the nearest of the other off islands. Furnished with vintage mid century Ercol furniture in the living and dining areas, 2 bedroomed with compact fitted kitchen and shower room. (Water is scarce in the ecology conscious Isles of Scilly) there is a patio area with chairs and barbeque outdoors. The property is bright modern and welcoming inside. Books and games are provided, TV DVD player and radio - no wi fi and you may have to walk 50yds to the crossroads on the crest of the hill for mobile reception. This is ideal for a relaxing walking, boating and beachcombing holiday where you can get away from it all and recharge. Kris and Geoff will welcome you off the launch with your luggage and provide a welcome scones and clotted cream.

Bryher isn't for everyone; if you're looking for 'things to do'- go elsewhere. if you want fantastic scenery, ever-changing sea and sky, lovely friendly people and real peace and quiet, come here.||Veronica Farm is a welcoming place run by welcoming (but not intrusive) people.||Your holiday won't be cheap, but it will be special, and like us, you'll come back again, and again...
