Verride Palácio Santa Catarina

This may be our favorite hotel of all time, so far! The service has been exemplary. All the staff know us by name, know our room number and even our daily preferences. The room is so comfortable, with a bed that made getting up and out and decision point every day. The breakfast is extraordinary…a 5 serving meal that will have you wondering if there will be room for dinner. Only because we were out and about everyday, we missed enjoying a dinner at either of the 2 restaurants. My morning eggs were fluffy pillows of perfection everyday. And the coffee, some of the best I have ever enjoyed. Our 7th floor view of the river and surrounding areas delighted us everyday and certainly in the evening! But bring all the attention to design detail, it is the staff undeniably that made this stay so wonderful!

We had the pleasure of staying at the Palacio and cannot recommend it more highly. The location, overlooking the Miradouro de Santa Caterina and the rooftops of Baixa is outstanding. It's at the end of a quiet street (only taxis and other authorized vehicles can pass through). The property retains it's historical character with accuracy and the owner's artwork adds personal charm. Our room was spacious, with an oversized bathroom with soaking tub, luxurious Aesop products and soft satin robes. There's a spectacular (albeit small) pool overlooking the city, a rooftop bar with a panoramic view and several dining choices, which sadly we did not enjoy. But the true jewels of this property are its employees and the warmth which they welcome you. From Joana, the hostess, to Mariana, the front desk receptionist, all made us feel at home. We even received a thank you note from our housekeeper for the tip we left - a first for us!! Prior to our trip, I had agonized over our hotel selection but I'm so happy with our final choice!

Verride Palácio de Santa Catarina is truly unforgettable. The location could not be more perfect — right in the heart of everything, with the city at your doorstep. The hotel itself is both luxurious and beautifully minimalist, offering a stylish retreat in Lisbon. What truly sets this property apart is the staff. Every single person we encountered was warm, kind, and genuinely dedicated to creating an exceptional experience. A special thank you to Ines at the front desk, always greeting us with a smile and helping hand. Gabriel curated our stay from start to finish, ensuring every detail was perfect. And last but certainly not least, Alexandra at breakfast. Having worked in fine dining at Jean-Georges in New York City, I can confidently say Alexandra is among the very best. She is knowledgeable, gracious, and her passion for hospitality shines through in everything she does. Start your morning with her — I promise it will set the tone for a perfect day.

I stayed overnight on a Hilton Free Nights Award and there is little doubt in my mind that this was the best hotel stay I have ever had. I didn't want to leave the hotel for a minute.||When we arrived, we received a tour of the premises, including the rooftop bar, the outdoor pool and the beautiful common areas. When we got to our room, we were knocked out by the view, the bed, and the complimentary baked goods, champagne and beverages. ||We were also told that we were entitled to a complimentary 15 minute massage, which my wife and I had scheduled for later that afternoon. I immediately said to my wife "this might be the best place I've ever stayed out" and she corrected me, saying "it definitely is."||The massage was unbelievably good. My wife paid to extend it and received a very, very good massage for way less than it should have cost. While she was gone, the hotel sent a small birthday cake to our room (quick note: make sure to complete the ore-arrival questionnaire the hotel sends a day or two before arrival to inform it of any special occasions worth celebrating). I also toured the rooftop bar and saw a great view of the city from the 2nd highest vantage point in the city.||We spent an hour at the rooftop pool, which was small but luxurious. ||The hotel's main restaurant was closed the night we visited, but the hotel's secondary restaurant was open and delicious. ||We slept very, very well on a large bed that may have been king-sized plus.||The next morning we were treated to a five-course breakfast which included fresh-squeezed juice, cappuccino, charcuterie, breakfast breads, yogurt with fruit, an egg dish and a dessert pancake. Again, everything was excellent!||I have read some of the more tepid reviews and cannot stress enough that our experience was amazing. Maybe your mileage may vary, and maybe some of your experience depends on your room (ours was 6.2 and is highly recommended), but I cannot imagine a better hotel stay!

Incredible hotel with a story. Unique from other boutiques, exclusive feeling. Infinity pool and rooftop bar for guests, both have incredible views. Parts of the original mansion are part of the hotel layout. Rooms are spacious, with great attention to detail (Aesop soap products are a nice touch). It is clear the owner is passionate about a shared experience with this space, a place to recharge and enjoy Lisbon right in the heart of the city.

We had a wonderful stay. Staff was attentive and made sure we were comfortable. The hotel is centrally located and the rooftop bar provides a wonderful view.

Wish we could have stayed longer, but we definitely plan to return to Lisbon just to stay here again! |Thanks to all the excellent staff who made our stay so memorable!

Staying here was an utter delight. Everyone at this former palace welcomes you into their kingdom where you feel indulged like former courtesans. Perfectly positioned, the ambience is superb, the food is sublime and the friendliness of all the staff is so welcoming. Our top tip is to indulge in booking a treatment as the therapists are true, true healers with magic in their hands. My husband walked in barely able to stand straight or walk without a limp and yet he came out like a new man and pain free|We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

the best of the best. Everyone was so warm & welcoming. The rooms were luxurious & the bed was so very comfortable & the sheets so soft! The food was fresh, elegantly presented & soooo delicious! Views, massive fresh flower, incredible staff.... you won us over. Until next time!!

The hotel is located in an automotive restricted area. If you drive, obtain access information from the front desk. This caused a little confused which had me driving around Bairro Alto, looking for an access point. Cannot put in words how satisfied I am with the hotel and staff. After two weeks of holiday around Iberia Lisboa marked the end of my trip. The hotel is an oasis in the chaos of Bairro Alto. The restaurant and rooftop bar are great for small groups of friends. The staff is amazing and extremely friendly. I rank the professionalism and service of Verride Palácio compariable to any exclusive hotel in the world.
