Amazing curated pieces for the modern woman. Staff is also patient, thoughtful and kind - shoutout to Moira and Stephanie for a very fun visit!

Google
Such a special place! I was in Durham for work and stopped by on a whim. My favorite shopping experience is one where you can talk to someone super smart and stylish who will talk you down from all your neuroses. On that front, V&V delivers! Everything they stock is beautiful and well made, and the women who work here are consummate pros who will take you, your concerns and your taste seriously. I had the best time talking to Nia, trying on pieces she picked out for me, and getting some stylist assists from Stephanie. One of their regular customers even helped close a deal by walking in wearing a great pair of jeans (tried them on + bought my own on the spot.) 10/10 retail experience.

Google
Vert & Vogue offers a retail experience unlike any other. During my two styling appointments, Vert & Vogue’s exceptional team made me feel cared for, confident, and beautiful (even at 9 months pregnant!). Prior to both appointments, the team pulled a gorgeous selection of items that pushed me a little out of my comfort zone - which is exactly what I wanted. Every item I’ve purchased at Vert & Vogue has become a closet staple and wardrobe talking point. I cannot recommend this store and this team enough!

Google
Parfait. Truly. I could live in this store. And it’s not just the clothes, which are of course amazing, it’s a wonderful place to come for gifts too!

After moving to the Triangle 2 years ago, I have yet to find a shopping experience that brings the expertise, eye for quality and fit, and overall amazing style that Vert and Vogue has! Absolutely worth the 25-min drive from Raleigh - I will be back again and can’t wait to see what Nadira and Stephanie thoughtfully curate!

Google
Shopping at Vert & Vogue has been one of the delights of moving back to Durham area. The attentive, personal customer service I received has made this one of my favorite places to spend time and relax. And the pieces I’ve purchased are staples of my wardrobe that transition from fancy work events to a day out with my toddler. Nadira and Stephanie are wonderful humans and understand my style intimately, I look forward to continuing to support this amazing woman-owned business!

Google
I had a fantastic shopping experience a couple weeks ago at Vert & Vogue. Nadira was so lovely to work with. She picked out things that I would not have done on my own including a pair of boots that were absolutely gorgeous! She knew about all of the vendors and the quality of the products that she shared with me. Even my husband commented on what a great experience this was! I will definitely be back!

Stephanie Forman

Google
The team at Vert & Vogue is wonderful. Went there recently for some summer clothes, and they were all so patient and helpful with styling and sizes. They’re incredibly thoughtful about the designers and companies they carry, which makes it an absolute joy to shop there. Cannot say enough good things about Vert & Vogue and the team that works there.

Yelp
Nadia and staff were delightful. They showed me sweaters that they thought would wear well on me and we're very honest about what they thought. I will go back again soon!

Yelp
V&V is one of my favorite places to experience individual style and fashion. The entire team is curious, observant, intuitive and fun-loving. I have been a customer for a LONG time. I appreciate that they know I look good in a lot of things - they indulge that but also draw upon their knowledge of past pieces that I've purchased. I also love the fact that sometimes I buy and sometimes I don't. Yet, their care, service and connection is authentic and warm no matter what. High quality materials and clothing are simply the outer product. The inner product is connection, support and respect for individuality...Merci, Nadira, Ryan, Stephanie, Johanna!

Yelp
As someone who prefers boutiques to malls, I was thrilled when my daughter introduced me to her favorite boutique in Durham, NC! From the minute we walked in, and were greeted by beautiful Nadira and Stephanie, I knew this would be a wonderful experience, and it was!! I loved every piece Nadira selected for me to try on, and the perfume I purchased is delightful! You do not want to miss this boutique!!
google avatar

Yelp
The amazing team at V and V is helping this 40-something lady emerge from the pandemic and embrace fashion again! Every single person is warm and welcoming- unusual in my experience shopping for merchandise of this quality. And patient! I know nothing! But now I own two belts! Thank you V and V especially Stephanie you are incredible.

Talita R.

Yelp
Stephanie and Nadira were absolutely amazing. They spent time to understand my personality and my needs and were so thoughtful on how they styled me. To top that, they have such positive energy and it is clear how much they care about making you feel your best self.

Yelp
I can't begin to express my appreciation for the beautiful outfits I purchased during my short stop in Durham! I love every piece Johanna and Nadira showed me! I am thrilled by all the items and I truly liked being with Nadira and Johanna who understood my sense of style. They introduced designs that would look good on me and I ended up buying several fabulous dresses, trousers and blouses! I love this store... and the professional women who work there! I come from NYC just to shop at this store... and visit my son.

Lotus Seed Meditations R.

Yelp
Each time I arrive to the shop feeling like a tired version of me I somehow know I can count on leaving feeling seen, invigorated and beautiful (and not just because of the clothes). The people who work here know that beauty comes from the inside out. They help you tap in to that beauty and dress in styles, colors and accessories that not only compliment, but elevate and invigorate. I can't help but smile and feel a little more confident each time I wear a piece from V&V! Thank you, V&V for always making me feel so special! xo

Rivka G.

Yelp
Back to Durham after living in CA for the last 18 years...looking for my 'go to' shop that fits my style. Stephanie at Vert and Vogue was great! Not everything in the shop works for me, but some pieces are perfect. What matters to me is that shopping is fun! Vert and Vogue is fun! I'm looking forward to many more visits.

Yelp
My husband made an appointment for me as my Christmas gift this year after meeting Johanna while checking out the storefront. It was a delightful experience! I ended up with a pair of jeans and a blouse, both of which I plan to have forever. The items cost much more than what I could normally spend on clothing, but I will certainly be back when I am able to splurge!

Eli T.

Yelp
I was on the search for a Sayaka Davis piece, and my deep dive led me to Vert&Vogue...and, what a godsend!! I SO wish I had found them sooner!! Not only did they have what I was looking for, but thanks to the brilliant Approval Box concept, they included other sizes and styles for me to try, and you only pay for what you keep. The women on the team are BEYOND kind and helpful and accommodating. I cannot speak highly enough of this shop/enterprise, nor recommend them enough. Bravo!!

Allison K.

Yelp
Simply put, V&V is an extraordinary place. Clothes shopping (and wearing!) can feel like a performance, or like trying on a persona: this is what I'm supposed to wear, this is how I'm supposed to dress, etc. There's something so special about the space V&V has created - it very thoughtfully and deliberately helps you figure out how to dress like you. Across the board, the team is fantastic. And Stephanie is very, very good at her job - she is a light!

Lisa H.

Yelp
Wonderful curated range of clothing and these AGolde 90s cropped jeans are no exception. Great fit and they look very cool (and are comfortable but flattering), the wide-ish let even works on my 5'1" frame. Special thanks for the great service from Stephanie, who advised me to get these jeans instead of another pair I had ordered because she thought I'd live them bc they're "cooler" and to Katie, who advised me to get expedited shipping so I received them in time for my trip. I wish I lived close to this store but I love them and have recommended to others.

Molly J.

Yelp
This is the best boutique in the Triangle. The customer service experience is top-notch and you won't receive this kind of attention anywhere else. I will happily drive 25 miles out of my way to visit this shop! Finally - a local boutique (also a certified B-corp!) that carries unique clothing and accessories from sustainable designers!

Connell V.

Yelp
Vert and Vouge is my favorite place for boutique shopping in the triangle. It is a true experience with beautiful pieces from talented designers. All of the employees are very thoughtful and helpful in finding the right thing that fits their customer's style. I recently had a work party and Nadira and Stephanie helped me style my dress and came up with the most unique, beautiful idea using a combination of items I already owned plus some great pieces from Vert and Vouge. I highly recommend going to see these ladies and find something truly unique!

Yelp
It's awesome to see some eco-friendly threads that don't scream tree-hugger, but man, why does being green have to be so darn expensive? I fell in love this little retail joint, but I had to carefully eye the price tags when making my selections. I was drooling over a gorgeous blue dress till I saw it sells for nearly $700! Otherwise, I'd be nabbing just about everything they stock in this store -- the buyer has a great eye for fashion and it's all amazingly green, to boot. That means, no leather, fur, silk, wool, etc. I picked up the chic-est messenger bag, from vegan designers Mat and Nat, to replace my ol' carry-on. It's completely cute, a nice buttery suede, AND almost entirely constructed from 56 plastic bottles. How the heck? And ladies, your male counterparts don't have to feel left out while you ogle because there's a whole men's section as well. Mine ended up with two bamboo sweaters from Covet. V&V even stocks an adorable line-up of baby clothing! Staff is super-friendly too, not really pushy, but they will make suggestions to you and offer help as you browse. Only thing I didn't like was that there are no mirrors in the fitting room, so you have to come out into the very middle of the store to assess yourself -- and no one wants to have to adjust their bra straps or stoically announce they'd like to try a bigger size in front of strangers!

Yelp
I often say to myself, "I wish I were European." This shop helps me live out that dream while still residing in the states. But that's not the more attractive aspect of the boutique... They are VERY attentive. They know everything about the products they sell, the designers, and how to put together a delicious ensemble. I was torn on whether or not to get some Incredible solid wood and leather platform sandals. Well, they were there with me to help me decide. I'm talking, two of the loveliest women in Durham double-cuffing my pant legs to help me see how the shoes could transition into my closet beautifully. Seriously. If you want to feel pampered and are in the mood to experience clothes shopping as it should be, walk on in; the fashion's fine.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
I hate clothes shopping. Vert & Vogue is one of the few places I'll go willingly and not whine like a schoolgirl getting her hair pulled. In fact, I rather enjoy shopping there, which is something of a miracle. They sell a lot of American made brands, which is really important to me, and they even have some local brands like Raleigh Denim, which is über-cool. But what really makes Vert & Vogue is the staff. Everyone there is knowledgeable and friendly, and they have a fantastic eye. That's especially helpful to someone like me, who looks at a rack of shirts with the same befuddlement he'd look at Sanskrit. V&V costs more, but it's good to know that my money is going to support local merchants. I'll happily pay more for that.
google avatar

Nada S.

Yelp
Totally thought this was a thrift store when I walked in so I was surprised at the prices but nonetheless I LOVE their collection. Vert & Vogue offers unique clothing designs, and the shoes were to die for too!! On the right wall they'll sometimes have their previous line on sale; the rest of the store is usually the new line clothing. When I get paid big money I'll for sure be stopping by here. Every item felt like 'one of a kind' although you can see three others of the same, but you know that you are investing in quality clothes that will be unique when you wear it!
google avatar

Lola S.

Yelp
This isn't a thrift shop. They sell dresses here for $500+ and nail polish for $19. Now sure why it comes up when you search THRIFT but it's the furthest thing from it. Plus when you walk in you have to say hello to four different people that work there. Pretentious and over priced.

Yelp
vert & vogue boasts an impressive collection of gorgeous vegan shoes. I mean, these shoes: I just want to recline in a big pile of them and tell them all my secrets; I feel like we could be really close friends. The colors, the fabrics, the textures: they are truly beautiful and well made shoes. Ah, yes, but the price tags unfortunately match the quality. That is unless, of course, you visit the sale table. There were several pairs of chic pumps and cute sandals for under $100 when I visited today. And just I was feeling a bit depressed over wearing a size 11 shoe, the owner came over and said that she, too, wears an 11, so she always stocks that size. Wow. I am impressed. I asked when she'd be getting her spring shipment in, and she said they're expecting tons of new goodies in mid-March. I work just across the way from the shop, so I told her I'd be back. I didn't look at the clothes very closely, honestly, because I was so struck by these gorgeous, magical shoes. Plus, I'm a big, tall lady, so it's hard enough to find clothing in-store that fits me, let alone is also within my budget. And vert & vogue = CHA-ching! For access to vert & vogue, park across Main St./Morgan St. in the lot near Fishmongers or on the street on Main St. (Satisfaction side) for free, or park in the lot near Morgan St. Imports and get your parking validated in the store.

Yelp
I saw that V&V was celebrated in The Independent's "Best of the Triangle" issue, and figured I'd check it out. Given my overflowing closets, and my decision to stop buying sweatshop-made clothing as much as possible, I've largely avoided going to clothing stores during the past year. But with this oppressive heat, I decided I needed some new summer dresses, and decided to check it out. The store is in Brightleaf Square, and is very cute. It's not overly hipster or trying-too-hard-to-be cool, but is cheerful and attractive. The salesperson who assisted me was incredibly nice and helpful. After I picked up a couple things, she picked out other dresses in the store that I actually ended up liking better than the ones I picked out myself! In particular, a beautiful dress which suited me perfectly, as well as vegan shoes to go with them. They were each in the range of $100-$150. She also offered styling tips which I appreciated. Yes, the items are pricey, but when clothes are not made in sweatshops, they will cost more money. I understand that not everyone will be able to afford them, but since I have the choice, I am happy to have the option to spend my money on items which are made with green materials, and not by overworked, underpaid people in developing countries. I understand that not everyone has the budget for this, but they also have a sales rack where you can get good deals if you're diligent.
google avatar

Catherine G.

Yelp
This is my 3rd review for V&V. Yes, I am an unabashed fan of both their flagship in Brightleaf and the newer V&V Femme on Main Street at Five Points. I love that the selection of women's clothes differs in each locale and the high quality men's offerings (which even my not clothes conscious spouse loves). Nadira and Ryan and their team don't just sell clothes - they are creating community as those of us who attend the yearly clothes swap for UMD can attest. They also support other retailers who seek to bring back conscientious quality. Inexpensive-no. Will you leave with a piece that you will wear for years or give with joy-yes!
google avatar

Linda H.

Yelp
Vert and Vogue is a lovely local clothing store with high quality clothing and accessories. The Brightleaf location has beautiful, fashionable clothing for both men and women, while the downtown location has contemporary women's fashions. The items are very well made, nicely designed, with wonderful fabrics. Ryan and Nadira, the owners, are knowledgeable, helpful and so welcoming, as are the staff. One comes away feeling they are friends. They are also very committed to the Durham community. Highly recommended.
google avatar

T. B.

Yelp
V&V is a high-end, chic shopping experience where you certainly get what you pay for. High-quality clothing, accessories and beauty products that impress. I always go there when I am looking to treat myself and V&V never disappoints. The owners, Ryan and Nadira, are also true gems and they care about crafting a luxe experience for their customers. They also have big hearts; they regularly give a portion of a day's proceeds to various community organizations. This place is a definite "yes."
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
I have to echo all of the great reviews here. I have been a loyal customer of Vert & Vogue for the last few years. Nadia, Ryan, and the rest of the staff are truly amazing in terms of their warmth, intelligence, and exceedingly good taste. They are committed to keeping loyal customers who are happy and keep returning, as opposed to strong-arming you into buying something that you will fall out of love with soon after purchasing. The clothes are very high quality and you will pay for the quality. Because of that, I initially thought I would be getting one or two "special" shirts to add to my wardrobe. But then I found these were the only two shirts I wore. They were comfortable, great patterns, a modern fit, and went well with a wide variety of other pants, sweaters, jackets, etc. (The staff are wonderful at suggesting ways to get multiple looks or outfits out of a few pieces, making things much more economical.) I've since bought (or was given) shirts, pants, and jackets. They've all been outstanding. And after several longer trips (including one to Europe), I've come to appreciate how well-suited V&V clothes are for travel: lightweight, durable, easy to hand wash and drip dry, and hip. Give them a try. Worst case, you'll end up spending some time with the delightful staff in a beautiful store right in our neighborhood. Best case, you'll leave with a piece or two that will become a staple for you, whether you're at Fullsteam, the office, or in Bavaria.
google avatar

Louis V.

Yelp
Great place for sustainable clothing. Customer service is topnotch. My lack of a 4 or 5 star review is due to V&V opting out of providing vegan options. My whole trip to V&V was for a pair of vegan shoes and I left empty handed.
google avatar

Lynda R.

Yelp
You won't find these clothes, awesome shoes, or jewelry anywhere else in the triangle. The owners are committed to environmentally conscious clothing and are involved with their community in many ways. They make you feel special and I love having them dress me up. They've changed the way I dress and the pieces are very versatile. I find myself picking the pieces I've purchased there to wear over and over again. It's a sweet little boutique with sweet owners and store manager. They're just great fun and never push a sale. I keep going back as I like their style and attitude.
google avatar

Hunter B.

Yelp
For trendy and LOCAL clothing, Vert and Vogue is the spot. You will always find the most fashionable gear in time for each season. I like to frequently check their inventory as it is always changing. Great shop with awesome employees.

Katharine K.

Yelp
V&V is a MUST visit for those who are local or just in town for a visit. This is about the only store I enjoy shopping in person. I am one of those who prefers to purchase anything and everything online. Owners, Ryan & Nadira, along with their amazing staff provide a truly enjoyable shopping experience. The merchandise is all high quality, selected with an eye for fashion and detail I could never execute on my own. They are fantastic at helping choose items I will love, not just like. The clothing is not inexpensive, but definitely fits into the quality over quantity theme. The pieces I have from V&V are always my favorites and are those I reach for frequently. This store cares about community, their customers, and their supply chain; it shows in absolutely everything they do!
google avatar

Emilia C.

Yelp
Small-ish selection, but nice clothes and shoes.

Lynne A.

Yelp
My favorite local clothing store. Owners Nadira and Ryan and their wonderful team lend a personal touch to each selection. Shopping here and playing dress up with no pressure to purchase is such fun. Clothing quality is excellent. You won't be disappointed.

Luke R.

Yelp
Loved this store. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and I ended up getting a really nice suit that fit almost perfectly. Maybe it's because I'm used to shopping in NYC, but it was a breath of fresh air to go into a higher-end store and not have to deal with arrogant salespeople who think they're better than you. Southern-style friendliness FTW!
google avatar

Courtney J.

Yelp
Coming into Vert & Vogue must be what it felt like walking in "Cheers", the bar made famous in the popular sitcom. It's such a welcoming experience. I love to wear nice clothes but fashion is not necessarily my strong suit and I'm awful about accessorizing and putting pieces together. The clothes that they offer are of such high quality (some so soft, you want to sleep in them) and thoughtful design, that you can't help but try them all on. This is where the personalized experience that you will not find at the mall comes into play. In a fun, and not high-pressure way, the staff (Nadira's my favorite!) makes wonderful suggestions on pairing pieces (including accessories) together. Almost without exception, when I wear the outfits I've purchased here, I receive a flurry of complements. Thanks, Vert & Vogue for making me look good!

Jenny M.

Yelp
Great shop with nicely-curated items, and friendly staff. Wish I lived close enough to visit more often.

Yelp
Beauty with a Soul...That's how I would describe vert&vogue. The clothes and shoes are incredible, but it is so much more than just looking good. It is the feeling that I get when I shop there. I feel encouraged to be beautiful, and surprised that I like what I look like when I come out of the dressing room. Sometimes I try on something that I NEVER would have picked for myself and am shocked to discover I like myself in it. I have found another side of myself that I kinda like by shopping there. And it is fun. They make it really fun. I also love the fact that so much of their products are made in the US. The designers are actual people with a story, not some faceless brand. It makes shopping there much more meaningful. Like I am connected not just to the designers, but to other people who like those designers, too. I can recognize other v&v shoppers around town by what they are wearing and it's almost like we are in on the same secret. It makes me smile because I know that they get it, too. V&v is beauty, for sure, but with a soul. There is a real soul to that place and you feel it. It is a beautiful experience to shop there, even when I am "just looking." *Full disclosure: I worked there for 2 years and love the owners and the shop. They have high standards, big hearts and true integrity.*

Yelp
I love Vert & Vogue--it is my favorite shopping destination in the Triangle. Nadira and Ryan have great taste and a fabulous sense of style. The service is impeccable--they remember your prior purchases and your taste, often suggesting other interesting pieces that may appeal. I very much appreciate the collection of harder to find designers. A great place for trendy, unique clothing (men's, women's and kids), accessories and a lovely collection of shoes.

Larisa S.

Yelp
I first walked into Vert and Vogue about a month ago, and I was immediately impressed by how adorable and stylish everything was. At first I was worried that they didn't carry much in my size (12), but I've since found several pieces that fit well and that I am getting a lot of wear out of. The staff are lovely and extremely helpful. The items are expensive, but the quality is excellent and they have good sales. Besides, the folks at the store don't mind if you come in just to ogle their beautiful things!

Jessica W.

Yelp
V&V is a fantastic boutique if you are looking for unique, comfortable and beautiful clothing and want personalized service, not stuffiness. The owners and employees are attentive without being overbearing, gracious, and able to give honest feedback. Amazingly, their selection of clothes, shoes and accessories is incredible. I am looking forward to their next season!

Lauren B.

Yelp
Cool collection of men's and women's clothing, shoes, belts, accessories near Duke. Fashionable and eco-friendly. Really helpful + friendly owners and staff

Allison A.

Yelp
I just returned from a business trip to New York and realized that any time I travel and want to be both stylish and comfortable, I pack my clothes from Vert & Vogue. Some of my standbys are several years old and still look great (in terms of style and quality) so the value is clear. Of course shopping at V&V is dangerous -- the service is so wonderful (not pushy) that it's hard to walk away without a fabulous piece or new outfit that you never imagined yourself wearing (but looks great). I especially admire Ryan and Nadira's commitment to sustainable fashion and their support of local businesses and the community in Durham.

Jenna R.

Yelp
They have a great concept going being that their "green," However I know fashion, and I also know that I purchased the same top they were selling from another store and I purchased it for $50.00 less... Yes 5-0, LESS than what they we're selling it for- their extremely over priced on most of their items- and how does one expect to be doing something good for the environment when most can't even afford the product to do so?

Pamela F.

Yelp
I loved the store and the staff who waited on us appeared to be great. My daughter and I brought an expensive pair of shoes which I love and left the store. I even referred 2 coworkers of mines and 1 of them brought a nice pair of shoes as well. I found out later that they sent her a thank you card but I never received one. I'm Black and my coworker is White. I would hate to think they only send thank you cards to white customers but I'm not sure what to make of this. I spent just as much money if not more? I didn't say anything to the coworker but I was really concerned about the different treatment. I'm really disappointed especially after the clerks acted as if they really appreciated us visiting the store

R S.

Yelp
I absolutely love this boutique! I have been here several times now, and have come away with consistently wonderful clothes for work and casual wear. Recently I was in need for a dress for a fancy occasion and was delighted to find not just one dress but two! both hand-picked by the wonderful staff here. I also found other beautiful items for other events, all made to make you feel and look great. The quality of the merchandise here is top-notch, and the garments are carefully chosen for not just quality, but uniqueness, sustainability, elegance and design. Shopping here is also such a pleasant experience -- the owner, Nadira, is wonderful and helpful in finding just the right item for her customer, as is her excellent staff -- that I look forward to shopping (and I really don't usually enjoy shopping). Vert & Vogue could be successful in any sophisticated big city, and we are so fortunate to have a wonderful small business like this one in Durham! I wouldn't go anywhere else. Fantastique!
