Disappointing Experience at Vertigo Hotel Dijon – Not Up to Marriott Standards
As a Marriott Titanium Elite member, I expected a warm welcome and a level of service reflecting the loyalty I’ve shown to the brand. Unfortunately, Vertigo Hotel in Dijon fell far short of these expectations.
The check-in process was frustrating and unwelcoming. Despite my elite status, there was no recognition or effort to make me feel valued. On top of that, I was charged €200 for the minibar (€100 per room), which feels excessive and unjustified. The minibar contains bare minimum of assortiment and contains only cheap products. This left a very poor first impression.
The staff at the reception were notably unfriendly, with little interest in providing helpful service or resolving concerns. The rooms are small and not particularly well-equipped, certainly not what you would expect at this price point.
On the positive side, the location is excellent, and the rooms were clean—but these are basic expectations, not redeeming qualities for a hotel positioned as upscale.
Overall, I did not feel welcome as a Marriott Titanium Elite member, and I regret choosing this property. I do not recommend Vertigo Hotel in Dijon, especially for loyal Marriott travelers expecting a certain standard of hospitality.
