I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere vibe that I get here. The seating is comfortable and table spaced adequately. Menu is easy to navigate and staffs responsive. I stated the meal with the pork polpette or meatball. Even though a little dry, it doesn't break up easily and makes eating it easier. However the mushroom celery soup was interesting. Most of the time, mushroom soup conjures an image of blended mushroom, but here, the mushrooms are in their original shape and piece. The soup itself is 'watery'. The taste is light but adequate, accompanies the bread well. Pumpkin gnocchi however was a little creamy and too light in the taste department for my liking. Perhaps my palate is more attuned to heavier flavours. The pizza however is delicious. Even though light on topping, the bread is tasty and topping fresh. I like it. Rounding up is their rollata porkettata, fancy name for pork. The pork pieces are generous and thick. The gravy is heavy and the flavours combines well with the meat. If I have to nitpick I would say that the meal would be better if the meat was a bit more tender. There are certain parts where it chews tough. In the end, I had a fun meal with a cozy environment.

This is my second time here, the first time I ordered the mixed seafood pasta and pizza, which was delicious, but unfortunately the special menu that week did not include wild boar lasagna. The second time I contacted the restaurant staff via WhatsApp and they made the lasagna specially for me. I also ordered the tiramisu and salumi& formaggi, both of which were delicious. All the staff, in particular, were very friendly and considerate and even took the time to escort me to the taxi under an umbrella because of the heavy rain. Thank you so much. The lasagna is soft, the meat is tender, and the cheese inside is super fragrant. The coffee taste of Tiramisu is very strong. Ham platter with cheese, salty and savory. The extra cake is also delicious.

Their pizzas continue to be one of the best in Penang. They do not skimp on ingredients, so you get a good amount of toppings. The bruschetta are pretty good and recommended as well.

Service oriented staff and tasty Italian food. Recommended seafood pasta aglio olio style with additional tiger prawns Updated: food pacing is good. Doesn’t feel rushed and allows you to enjoy dishes

Just ate at the Penang branch of Via Pre. All the staff were knowledgeable about GF, the food was soooo delicious esp the Bruschetta Bisunta! The staff then brought me an apple shortcake with ice cream ontop, which wasn’t even on the menu. After 3 months of living here, it was so nice to eat at a restaurant and not have to eat a salad!! When I get back to KL, I’ll ring ahead and order pizza, and go to the KL branch. Thank you to all the staff! There was a really nice vibe in the restaurant too, it was packed with locals. We loved it.

I had high hopes for Via Pre, having heard great things from a friend who raved about their pasta, but unfortunately, our lunch turned out to be quite disappointing. My friend and I ordered two antipasti to start: the Bruschetta Bisunta and the Salumi & Formaggi for one. The Salumi was fresh, and the bruschetta was decent—nothing too memorable but acceptable. The real letdown came with the mains. We ordered the Spaghetti Pesto with Prawns and Scallops and the Special Pasta of the Day, which was a Truffle Pasta with sausage and mushrooms. My friend had previously enjoyed the truffle pasta, so she requested extra truffle and cheese to make it saucier, but the results were far from what we expected. When the pastas arrived, both were bland to the point that we had to ask for salt just to make them palatable. The truffle pasta had no truffle flavor at all, and the mushrooms tasted off, as if something was missing. The sausage was fine, but it couldn’t salvage the dish. My friend, who had tasted this exact dish before, immediately noticed that it was not up to standard. The Pesto Spaghetti was worst. It came with just three prawns and two tiny scallops, which tasted as though they hadn’t been thawed properly. The prawns were mushy and seemed to have been frozen for ages, the spaghetti tasted worst then a normal store bought pasta and the pesto sauce lacked any of the characteristics of a good pesto—there was no nuttiness, garlic, or the fresh aroma of herbs. It was a lifeless dish. Service-wise, the front of house staff were warm and inviting. They provided helpful recommendations and were attentive throughout. However, the ambiance was lacking. Although the air conditioning was on, it wasn’t working properly, and we found ourselves eating in discomfort, sweating as the meal went on. We had to ask for a fan to be turned on just to get some ventilation. We shared our feedback with the front of house, who admitted that a different chef had prepared the meal and even remembered my friend from her previous visit. As a gesture of goodwill, they offered us a complimentary crème brûlée. Sadly, the dessert was just as underwhelming—the sugar top had no satisfying crack, and the custard felt more like plain cream than a well-made crème brûlée. While the gesture was appreciated, it didn’t compensate for the overall disappointing meal. Despite the glowing reviews on Google and a strong recommendation from a friend, this experience makes it unlikely that my friend and I will be returning anytime soon.

We ordered bruschetta, 4 cheese pizza and vegan ragout pasta. Bruschetta: 4/5 4 cheese pizza was amazing the cheese were melt-in-your-mouth kinda of cheese. Plus their chili oil, it was a solid 5/5 for us. Vegan Ragout pasta was perfect 5/5 al dente pasta. Tiramisu a 4.5/5 Overall, the service was fast and very good. Would totally come back for more pizza and pasta
