What a great place! We didn’t get our waitresses name but she was efficient and very attentive. The owner made an appearance in the dining room a couple of times, asking us how everything was and checking in on everyone! Such a nice gesture! The food was EXCELLENT! My salad was cut in perfect bite size pieces (some Italian restaurants leave the vegetables too big) awesome portion sizes and awesome prices! Highly recommend!

I’ve been a patron of Via Roma II since moving to the Upper Freehold area in 2006, and despite highly rated pizzerias like DeLorenzos and Papas nearby, I keep getting Via Roma II’s pizza for the family. The pizzeria was originally started by relative of the Papas Tomato pie in Robbinsville, so the dough and sauce are similar. Interestingly, when Via Roma’s pizza is reheated in the toaster over, the crust is better in that it’s crunchier. Their Tomato Pie is excellent…, get it with garlic…, yum. Their Tomato Pie sausage and pepperoni pies are excellent. The pie is usually ready in 15 minutes when ordering by phone. They have an attached dine-in restaurant too. Very nice owners who will accommodate almost anything you want including gluten-free dough…!

These guys at Via Roma 2 definitely have some great gluten free pizza. The crust isn't super thin like most places and it holds up pretty damn well. Even a gluten loving friend said he couldn't tell the difference and said he might actually prefer the gluten free pie. If you find yourself in Allentown NJ I would say you should definitely stop in. Mario who works behind the counter is very friendly and very helpful. We got Extra Cheese and Pepperoni as well as Garlic and Black Olives. Well worth the drive and we will definitely be back.

Review update: so lately the food has not been that good. Different people making things? Tomatoe pie has been very stale and dry. Wife who has Celiac, loved the gluten free calzone the first time she got it and last few times, until last night. She said it was completely tasteless and the dough was almost bitter. Was she served bad/expired gluten free dough that it was bitter? She ended up throwing 3/4 of it away. I got a cheesesteak for the first time ever from here. While it did taste good, it was really the most pathetic cheesesteak I’ve ever gotten from anywhere. It was completely all roll with barely any meat in it. For $10 I expect better. You can literally get a cheesesteak from a place like Meatheadz for $14 who serves fresh ribeye and a pound of it in every sandwich. This sandwich literally only had about 4 oz of meat spread out on the roll. I would never order this again. Ok, first off, this place, I’ve lived 5 minutes from for practically over 30 years. How long they’ve been there, I have no idea. I’ve driven by plenty times with a glance but never cared to stop in. I recently saw a post on the Facebook group “Jersey Pizza Joints” referencing ties of this place to Papa’s Tomato Pies and how good they were when they stopped in for them. So I had to go and try them out. I stopped in and ordered a sausage and garlic Trenton tomato pie. Which I was told by the guy their tomato pies already have garlic. Cool, just add the sausage. Also ordered a plain Trenton tomato pie. I will say it’s probably been a good year or two that I last had a Papa’s pie for memory comparison but OMG! These pies were tremendous!! Cooked perfect, thin, crisp, great flavor and absolutely delicious! Kudos to whoever it was that made my pies! I posted this review and pics on the Facebook group because this place deserves recognition. I’m no one special but every little bit helps to get the word out! Via Roma gained a new customer!

I haven't been here yet but wondering if this is the same owners of the Toms River location? I would really like to come and have that same dining experience again!! So so sad Toms River closed down but always loved how the owner would come out and talk to us!
