This is a hidden tiny gem just south of the bustling tourist zone of Condesa. Opened by a young Chinese chef with a passion for food and wine, this intimate space—with only two tables and a cozy bar—delivers an extraordinary culinary journey through regional Chinese cuisine. The menu is small but mighty. Every dish we tried was a standout, from hand-folded dumplings (steamed, boiled, or fried) to robust, flavorful noodle dishes. The dan dan noodles were a house favorite, perfectly balanced with heat and depth. But the true showstoppers were the mushroom dumplings and pork riblets with dry rub and cilantro—tangy, spicy, and unforgettable. What makes this place even more special is the experience. You can watch the chef and team craft dumplings by hand, and if you’re lucky, catch one of their wine-and-dine events posted on Instagram, showcasing natural wines imported from China. I’ve eaten across China and in top Asian kitchens around the world—this is the real deal. Via Sol is a labor of love, and it shows. Go now, while you can still get a seat. Very interesting fusion taste. I am Chinese live in the States. This is not heavy, oily. Salad is refreshing and perfectly matched with pork riblets . Dumpling skin is just the right thickness for steamed and the filling is a good balanced. Overall, I am very impressed. Probably the best Chinese fusion I ever had.

Whew this place is exactly what I wanted!! Totally agree with the other review this place should have a line out the door. The dan dan noodles absolutely delicious -the pickled green bean finishes in a perfect way, I got the Szechuan dumplings delish, also the yuzu tea for a little pizazz. Great vibes, nice quieter street, def check it out

This is a small, unassuming restaurant in a quiet area, but it serves some of the best dumplings I’ve ever had—and I’ve traveled extensively throughout the Far East. If it were in New York or San Francisco, there would be a line out the door. We tried two types of dumplings—pan-fried and steamed. One variety was filled with Thai basil and a fantastic, flavorful mixture that was simply unforgettable. We also enjoyed a noodle dish that was excellent, and noticed the Dan Dan noodles at the next table, which looked amazing. The special eggplant salad, with a subtle touch of local Mexican vegetables, was an unexpected and delightful discovery. This is a true gem, run by a Chinese woman who clearly knows her craft and produces dishes of exceptional quality. This is not “fusion” cooking—it’s authentic Chinese dumplings at their very best.

Surprisingly eclectic and well-curated wine selection — a spirit that runs through the entire menu. The dumplings echo this approach: familiar yet elevated, with unexpected elements that make them feel fresh and contemporary. The space itself reminds me of emerging spots in Shanghai; even the atmosphere brings me right back. We tried all the dumplings and the tan tan noodles — I’d gladly have more if I could. Service was attentive and warm throughout. A spot worth returning to.

Wonderful, intimate experience. The dim sum & wine combo is brilliant, and we thought the way it had been put together was spot on. We came for food, and ended up staying late, chatting with other guests. It was one of those unexpected experiences that turns into a great memory. Thank you for facilitating it! The atmosphere here is pleasant and clearly geared more toward wine lovers than foodies. While the concept is interesting, the dumplings didn’t quite meet expectations — they’re quite small for the price, and the flavors felt underwhelming. It seems like the focus is more on offering a wine experience, but even the wine options are on the pricier side. Overall, it’s a nice spot to sit and enjoy a glass, but not the best value if you're coming for the food.

Overrated and overpriced. Read the other one-star reviews here, they all say the same thing: Overrated and overpriced. For the Americans thinking "no biggie, can't be that bad with the exchange rage": $40 USD gets you instant noodles in a watery, insipid broth with some bits of meat, 5 dinky dumplings and "ribs" that are really just reheated bites of fried pork. Oh and two teas made with that lemon/sugar mixture you get at Korean stores. Given the quality, it's a ripoff even by US standards. And if you still must go, try ordering just one dish (they come out fast enough) to get a sense of the quality/price, and then judge if I'm right. Best thing about this place is the cenaduria around the corner. And that's where we went after wasting a whole bunch of money here.
