Viajero Hostel Quito

Stayed two nights. The front desk people are very nice, in fact everyone here was fantastic. Rooms are standard but clean. We stayed in 102 and did have a wadt of igarette smoke coming from the garden almost all of the time which was not good at all. Food was good. Now for the bad part. We walked out the door to the hostel and made a left, walked a block down and we're walking down the ramp to Calle La Ronda at 815pm when I was accosted by a man with a knife demanding my valuables. I screamed at him and yelled, we had a standoff and I held my ground. He tried to chase me and came close to getting me but I finally scared him off. We reported it to the police at Calle de Ronda , but they seemed uninterested. I believe that during the day this hostel is fine, but be in before dark and you'll be fine.

I love the architecture of this hostel, is like staying in a mansion from the 1800. A vibrant well preserve colonial house, a magical garden and a tree house. The highlight of the place is Kate in the bar, always with an amazing energy and excellent service, I highly recommend checking out all the bar activities, karaoke, fruit tasting, Jenga, ping pong and pool tournament, not only Kate prepares and serve the most delicious cocktails, she also plays pool, Jenga or ping pong with you!!! Plus she is so funny, I have shared couple stories with her when I was feeling low and tired and she lifted my spirit! Definitely come hang out in the bar!!!!

Wonderful Hostel, very nice chill out areas, located in the Historical Centre and near the Metro Station. Everything gets cleaned every day. During our stay there were not much other people so the Hostel (which is very big) felt a bit empty. But thats something what the Viajero can't influence. Good Restaurant and Bar! Stuff was very friendly and helpful.

Location is only alright , seems like it might be dodgy at night . Food in the hostel doesn’t seem great . Nice building but not much going on fun wise. Common areas were completely empty when we were there (although they still play loud music until 10pm). Also the laundry service lost a good piece of clothing of ours and we asked and never got it back

Nice hostel with lovely private rooms. The location is at the end of the historic center which can be a bit dodgy at night but a short walk away from many of the historic landmarks. Reception staff was friendly although check-in took a while and when asking for help with taxis we received pretty bad advice. Private room was massive and extremely clean, the shower specially was so strong and warm, the private rooms certainly feel more like being in a hotel. The building itself is very pretty, nicely decorated and well kept, with plenty of seating outdoors and in the bar. Restaurant could have been better, on the first night (a Friday), the chef was also serving as cashier and waitress, running from one side to the other. We ordered the nachos and it was one of the most disappointing meals ever unfortunately, other nights just because we did not want to venture out and the restaurant was empty, we had the soup which was wonderful and another night burgers which were okay.

The nicest hostel!! I was traveling alone in quito and this hostel is one of the good experiences so far. The hostel is located in the nice area and inside the hostel is so amazing cause it’s huge, chilling vibes and a lot of good activities you can do And they also have a lot of activities per day that you can participate which is a chocolate testing, a salsa dance, a pool tournament etc.

One of the best hostels I've stayed at. Everything was perfect. The hostel is in a huge and beautiful colonial house - rooms were very clean, great breakfast, nice bar and outdoor garden area. Great walking tour and activities. The best part though was the incredibly kind staff. All of the receptionists were lovely and so helpful. A shout-out as well to the night-time receptionist who really helped me when my airport taxi didn't show up on time. Thanks Viajero for an amazing stay, I'll definitely be trying out their other locations

No complaints about the building, that is exceptional, an old heritage building, BUT, that is just one aspect of a hostel facility. Breakfast offered at 4$ was below average, ordering a avocado breakfast I received a miserable slice of avocado on bland toasted bread. A hostel with such facilities can do better, truly, not acceptable. Equally the rooms are suffocating, no fresh air, only sweaty travelers. Quite disappointed. Hope you take this into consideration, I've been traveling for ten years.
