Viang Tha Phae Resort Hotel

Withing walking distance to all the central attractions and restaurants, but down a small street so you don't get traffic noise etc. The rooms are beautifully appointed in a traditional Thai style, clean, and well maintained. The bathroom has a bath, and a most excellent shower. I had a pool access room which was very convenient any time I wanted to cool down. Staff are friendly, and I really have no complaints at all. Will definitely stay here again.

This establishment is undoubtedly a gem waiting to be discovered. Having visited many 5-star hotels around the world, I can confidently say that none can rival the extraordinary experience provided by this specific hotel. The accommodations are truly remarkable, the staff consistently goes the extra mile to cater to guests' needs, and the food service is flawless. After staying for a few nights, I found myself returning as I was so impressed. Additionally, there is a 7/11 conveniently located within a few minutes' walk.

Viang Thapae Resort really is an oasis in this very busy area of Chiang Mai. The resort looks like a tropical island. The rooms are very well appointed. I loved the decor! It was also very clean. The bed was comfortable and A/C was working.|There is a small pool that's perfect to cool down on hot days. The staff is super friendly and eager to help. |Breakfast was a basic continental style with a few Thai touches. Nothing to write home about, but good and conveniently located in the lovely dining area overlooking the pond.||Note that the address will lead you to the back door, which is locked after hours. The front door is just around the corner. I would recommend management put up a sign with directions.||Overall a great stay and very much recommended for individuals, couples, and families.

What a graet place to stay! The location is goood, and the pool is looking nice for relaxing after a day of exploring. Breakfast was delicious, and the stafff were freindly and welcoming.||||However, I did run into a bit of an issue with the air conditioning in my room it was blowing stale air, and it was way too hot. I let the staff know, but unfortunately, nothing was done about it during my stay. ||||Other than that, it was a great experience, and I would coming back agian!

Viang Tha Phae is a good value-for-money option located in a quieter part of Chiang Mai’s Old Town. While the hotel is a bit dated in terms of design and facilities, it still has a certain charm and character. The location is convenient but peaceful, making it a nice retreat after exploring the city. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a comfortable stay without breaking the budget.

Lovely Thai design with beautiful gardens and pools. It feels like a little oasis in the middle on Chang Mai. Rooms are comfortable and really cute. Great location, close to night markets and not too far from the the old city. Definitely recommend.

Gorgeous grounds, great service, location next to ideal. Two pools. The only reasons I give 4 stars are: - Bad breakfast. Choices are very limited, food is cold, and generally not tasting well. Just generic chow. - No hot water in the sink. It is common for Thailand, but this is not a $40 hotel either. - Intermittent WiFi. It is on, it is off, it is on, but nothing loads... It's not the worst, but it's not really acceptable in 2025. I would look for other alternatives before staying here again, but if none was to be found, it would be an option.
