Two stars because of 3 decent employees, but 1 star is more of an accurate representation of our 3-day stay here. I'd say 5 out of the 8 employees I encountered had no idea which way was up, nor cared to learn.
Let's start from the beginning. My friend and I arrived here after traveling for 29 hours from New York. You could imagine the exhaustion. We had about 5 large luggage items, none of which anyone in the lobby offered to help us with. When we asked about a cart/trolley, they said they don't have any. When we arrived at our floor, we found one.
Our room was basic, very small, with two twin beds. Second floor, window looking right into 10 apartment windows across the way (which is fine, it happens, whatever). No slippers or robes (not that this is necessary but it is typical), and two towels. Two.
We were dehydrated and starving and with no minibar we immediately called the front to order water bottles from their "24 hour room service", to which the girl told me they have none. No water bottles? She offers to bring up a cup of water. We call again minutes later to ask about something else, and a male answers, so we ask about water bottles again to which he asks, "small or large?" OH, now we have OPTIONS!
Now, we are traveling and don't want to spend $50 on 2 pizzas from room service, so we call down again to the front and ask if there are any restaurants in the area that are still open in walking distance or any that deliver. The girl speaks complete English, yet for some reason has no idea what we were talking about and doesn't know of any pizzerias in existence (there are 4 within a 1-mile radius). So, in efforts to save her brain from exploding, we ask if there is a website like Seamless where, we explain, you can order online. She checks with someone (they do a whhoole lot of "checking" here aka they know nothing, ever) and calls us back to give us a website, to which we use up all of our measly 100MB of free WiFi trying to order (this is how much they give you for 24 hours-- this is about enough to use the internet for 45 minutes) and get cut off right before being able to place the order. Welp, at least we have waters...
My friend attempts a shower, the faucet handle falls onto the ground. At this point we're laughing--- we're in the twilight zone!!
The next morning we leave the room and are missing our "do not service" door knob sign, so we tell the girl in the hallway not to service. She does anyway.......
We return and its hot as balls- its summer- our sheets and clothing are damp- is there no AC?! We call the front and they send up maintenance to tell us that in order to activate the AC you have to put your card in 2 clicks. Ohhhhhh guess they never mentioned that in the welcome packet that never existed.
My girlfriend had been expecting a package without a tracking number so she had to call down to the front, and every time was worse than the next. Always a "let me have a look". One time they called back about 20 minutes after we called to tell us there was a package for Kate. Neither of our names is Kate...... Back she went into the black hole of "looking" world and we never heard from her after that.
Finally, the straw that broke the back was when I returned the night before I was set to check out and asked if I could get a late check out of noon instead of 11, to which the woman said she would have to "check and see" as she got typing. No. No you will not check and see. I stay at hundreds of hotels and ONE hour is never a problem. But here at Vibe, everything is a problem. I wasn't going to complain to them, until this moment, right here right now. I spend the next 40 minutes telling them how bad everything has been, and that knowledge of the area/ hospitality here is a zero on a scale from 1-10, and lets just say, I landed myself a late check out.
