"In early 2018, Viceroy Snowmass debuted extensive enhancements to the hotel’s main public areas; including a new restaurant, TORO Kitchen & Lounge, from acclaimed Chef-Restaurateur, Richard Sandoval, a new lobby with a coffee and pastry shop called Café V, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a new yoga studio. In addition, this summer Viceroy Snowmass introduced an entirely new ski-in/ski-out bar and renovations to the pool area adding almost 400 square feet of outdoor space, three new soaking tubs, and a new water feature."

The accomodations were fantastic! Very comfortable beds. Expresso machine in the room, plus all the utensils! Toro was wonderful for breakfast. The pool and hot tub were fantastic. Transportation was a breeze around Snowmass with on-site car service. Extremely clean hotel and resort. I can't say enough good things about Viceroy Snowmass.

I had an amazing stay this weekend. The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed, with every detail feeling thought out. The staff were incredibly courteous and thoughtful, making the whole experience seamless. The pool and hot tubs were a perfect way to relax, especially with the stunning views. A HUGE thank you to Gia at the lobby bar — your thoughtfulness and consistent attention truly made our stay special. Highly recommend!

From the moment we pulled up, everything was spectacular. The front drive men were friendly and helpful. Walking into Toro was a dream; the lighting and decor are inviting and beautiful. We were greeted with huge smiles and incredible hospitality and brought to the table. ||Oscar’s service was exemplary. His anticipatory knowing of the wines and what we would like to pair with our food was spectacular and every choice was perfect. ||Dalisse is smart and engaging and fun and added even more to the night. ||My friend and I stayed for FOUR HOURS and were having such an amazing time we didn’t even realize how long we had been there until we were leaving. ||Chef Edgar came to the table and we were able to praise the delicious food and plating. ||Everything was perfect.

Super, beautiful location! Initially was recommended to stay here by a friend who helped us plan our trip to Aspen. Complementary hotel shuttle to and from airport is very convenient. Friendly staff including reception! The pinnacle king bed room with den was fantastic. Two full baths with great toiletries and very complete kitchen even with a convection oven it and full washer/dryer. The room itself was very large and accommodating. We were able to have people over easily. There’s a lot of sitting areas, TVs in each room, and plenty of storage for putting away clothes and closets. Housekeeping very accommodating too. ||Enjoyed the spa services with my sister and mom. We really enjoyed the total experience, including the complementary champagne after. Willoughby was wonderful! ||Had a big bday dinner for a family reunion at the Toro restaurant and Nico was wonderful and despite being busy with other tables, he and the others were very accommodating. This hotel is very well run and I would recommend it to any of my family or friends. I didn’t even ski this trip, but there was plenty to do even though most of my family and friends were skiing since ski in and out made it easy. Totally would love to come back!

We had a great experience at the Viceroy Snowmass. Everyone employee we encountered from valet, check-in and concierge, were extremely friendly, helpful and service oriented. We stayed in the new Cirque wing of the resort and the room was great and had every little amenity you could think of available. We had a great anniversary weekend and would absolutely love to stay at the resort again the next time we're in the area.

It was our pleasure to enjoy dinner and a tour of The Viceroy as part of the Meetings Industry Council of Colorado. As professionals who represent the very heart of the meetings and events industry, our group can be a discerning audience. That said, we were truly impressed. Each course was exceptional, every space thoughtfully designed, and the level of luxury unmistakable. Most notably, the service we received was gracious, attentive, and sincerely welcoming. As President of the National Association for Catering and Events, I highly recommend. Our experience at The Viceroy was nothing short of outstanding.

We love the Viceroy at Snowmass. We stay here for several weeks each winter. The vibe is upscale but energetic and fun. Location is perfect with true ski-in/ski-out. Staff and management are very friendly and eager to help. This year we stayed in the new Cirque building and the units there are fantastic - very spacious and elegant. ||We eat at the main restaurant, Toro, a lot and it is always good. Oscar, one of the managers of Toro, is especially helpful and always attentive. We especially like Toro’s special dinners, like the prix fixe Valentine’s dinner. One night, they had a special prix fixe that was a collaboration between Toro chef, Edgar Hernandez, and the chef of Las Montañas, Jose Linares. Las Montañas is a fabulous Mexican restaurant in Aspen. The blend of their two cuisines, Peruvian and Mexican, was brilliant. The two chefs came to our table towards the end of the dinner and you could tell they were having fun working together. Plus they were super accommodating with our multiple last-minute special requests - our choice of table, a non-alcoholic pairing, and one of us being pescatarian - all of which they handled with grace.||We’re already planning our stay for next winter!

The Viceroy provided a spectacular place to create family memories with such ease of a ski and ski Out experience. Their ski drop off and boot shop had exquisite service. They were friendly, professional and helpful with our kids and created such ease with skiing as a family. The rooms and accommodations were beautiful and clean. Snow mass was amazing! The slopes were perfect for any level of skiers. From Green to Black, we enjoyed them all. We will definitely plan on returning!

Yelp
Really great place with rooms that are equipped with fireplaces, robes, tub and shower, and kitchen. Bar, restaurant have good options, and great views.

Yelp
Unbelievably disappointing. This is NOT a five star hotel. We had the most subpar experience ever. We chose the Viceroy over Stone bridge and paid double ($700 a night) because it's supposed to be higher end and we were really looking for a relaxing weekend away. Service was terrible and manager was rude, room was dated and carpets were dirty, elevators were broken, we were served cold potatoes and raw eggs at breakfast, and worst of all there was MAJOR construction going on all day, each day that was not disclosed when booking. Our plan was to relax at the pool but the pool is part of the construction zone and it's pretty hard to relax to the sound of multiple jack hammers. When we called downstairs to ask how to fix the the TV, no one picked up. We called four times and at that point someone finally did answer. I mentioned that I had called multiple times trying to get through and the managers reply was "I didn't hear the phone ring". Also the phone in the room didn't work so to call downstairs you have to call their main line from your cell phone. We absolutely would have had a better experience at Stonebridge, and paid half the price. This is not a luxury hotel. It's comparable to a dated airbnb with no service. Stay elsewhere. What a waste. The only positive thing it has going for it is that it is in a gorgeous area.

Alan R.

Yelp
this is a hard review Valley State staff was great. Let's start with the first things first the room was good. The rate was good. Food was a nightmare, absolute nightmare. These people can get it right like it was a zoo never seen such poor service such poor management, but the poor manager did all the work the only one that guy even pour coffee no clue what on earth people were thinking, but you are better off hitchhiking into Aspen to get food than you are sitting in assuming that you're actually gonna get what you ordered because it's not gonna happen zoo description of the food service

Steven K.

Yelp
Great place love everything minus the expensive no option for valet parking. Would stay again provided the price doesn't go up as it seems to every year.

Yelp
1 star for this wannabe 5 star resort. I have stayed at many 5 star resorts and this is more of a 3 star hotel with a 5 star price tag. Checked in on a Sunday and the trip started out great they gave me a free upgrade on arrival. Monday I ended up fracturing my leg(confirmed by snowmass clinic) and fully tore my ACL (suspected by snowmass clinic but confirmed by MRI once I got home) in a ski accident. The Snowmass clinic couldn't write me a script for an MRI so we needed to leave our trip early so I can get proper medical care at home. We decided to stay until Thursday since that was the soonest flight available with seats together. I was in a brace and crutches so needed my husband close by to help me with my bags and ambulating. We asked the hotel on Tuesday morning if they would refund us for Thursday and Friday night since we originally planned on staying until Saturday. But they said no and to have Amex call the hotel since we booked with Amex travel. They also told Amex travel no and that their cancellation policy is you must cancel 1 month prior to the check-in date. Clearly I'm not psychic and didn't know a month in advanced that I would be getting injured. It's not like I wanted to end my vacation early but due to my injury we had to. I am sure ski accidents happen all the time but if you plan to ski and want a hotel that would be accommodating if you get injured stay elsewhere! They didn't even offer me a future credit! The hotel was also empty so it's not like my reservation stopped other people from staying there. Other negatives were the room they upgraded us to had an awful view of active construction and had stains all over the den couch/floor. Also lots of extra fees tacked on. Resort fees for a place I would barely consider a resort. Maybe years back they were better but I see in other reviews a lot of your guests are not so happy. Im sure the 5/5 reviews come from employees or paid bots. I will give 5/5 to the valet guys they were awesome and they were very helpful taking me around with my injury! Especially since your hotel isn't the closest in vicinity to the mountain.

Chloe P.

Yelp
From the outside it isn't the best site , but when you walk inside you know how fancy and nice it is. I like the hot chocolate and all of the little amenities they offer. One thing I don't like is when I was asleep the fire alarm went off really loudly. For the closet light it was so bright that we had to call a maintenance person to turn it off. And then it just didn't work ( the light for the closet) they do have a spa too which I like. Ps: the hotel is dog friendly

Yelp
Last time I was here I stayed at the St. Regis but decided to stay at Viceroy because of ski in and out. PROS: If you want to ski on Snowmass this is the absolute best location! The ski in and out is sooo convenient and the ski butler service is better in my opinion than the St. Regis. The staff are all amazing and helpful in so many ways. Love the dogs on property esp Vi is so cute and they will give you treats so you can feed Vi. You can also go hiking with Vi at any convenient time. CON: The worst experience with checking in. Arrived at the hotel around 4pm and room was still not ready so ate at the restaurant and even by 6 the room was still not ready. After much complaining finally the room was ready but now it's past 6pm. However when asked for late check out they gave us 30mins so check out is not at 1130 instead of 11. We paid a whole day for our check in day but did not even get the room until after 6pm so late check out should be given. Also the room cleaning service is mediocre. Never refill coffee or hang up robe. Left their cleaning rags behind. Overall love the hotel for location and service but turned off by the check in and check out service. Hope this was helpful

Erik A.

Yelp
From previous stays I'd give 4-5 stars but when there are so many other options this just is not currently a 5 star. There has been a construction zone around the pool for ages and there is no restaurant now. These are things you should make guests aware of before booking. I'm sure when it's all done it will be back to 4-5

Yelp
Pros: -great shuttle service to and from the airport -nice hot tub -great gym -great ski concierge - ski in/ ski out Cons -wayyyy overpriced for the service you actually get . Had to call down several times just for towels, toilet paper, and basic necessities -room was visibly dirty when we arrived . Did not look like it has been cleaned at all . - cafe in the lobby requires 20% gratuity. Prices for coffee and basic breakfast absurd -the viceroy is not super convenient to other places in Snowmass . No other breakfast place nearby except the super expensive cafe in the lobby -extra resort fee added to your bill Overall not worth the price you pay. The service and dirty rooms would be acceptable for the price of a holiday inn but not a "luxury" hotel

Yelp
I balance costs to amenities and quality when reviewing hotels or B&Bs and such. So, while this property in snowmass was filled with. Ice amenities and staff were all great (see my review on Toro Restaurant), the value very simply was not there for the price. From the high room rate, and $50 a day valet parking, and resort fees we paid for including the day of departure, this was. It the experience I expect. Add in that this was the last weekend (oct 30) before shutting things down until sku season, pricing and costs were in my view way out of line. I expect people coming to snowmass, aspen, and the rest all have money (must have given a 3-4 month ski pass is around $1000 (epic)), and the hotels know it. But charging off season rates that maybe amount to 10% and paying absurd prices for parking and things not really available, our 2 nights came out way over value. So armed with this knowledge we won't be back anytime soon if at all. Plenty of great areas in Colorado that won't cost a house payment for the weekend.

Yelp
WOW! That's all I have to say. I've heard good things about the Viceroy and booked it with my wife for our anniversary and was not disappointed. This place was great. I felt that everything was clean, the room was beautiful and the staff was super friendly. The hot tub outside was nice, and there was plenty of room to space out so you did not feel uncomfortable due to COVID. I would love to come back and stay here during ski-season next time. Overall amazing experience and an easy 5-star review to give!

Marjan Z.

Yelp
Worst experience ! I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Lousy staff and bad service. Will not go back

Wendy O.

Yelp
Super friendly staff. They are under construction at the moment, but we were not disturbed by it at all. Will stay again.

Rachelle R.

Yelp
The customer care in the hotel is top tier. I worked in the spa as a seasonal employee and the massage therapists go above and beyond in their treatments. The food in the hotel is fantastic - I love the chips and guacamole to snack on. The spa is gorgeous the second you enter it feels like an entirely different world. I felt included in the team working there. I felt heard and appreciated by the clientele and the staff. I would love to stay here when I visit Colorado again. Beautiful place.

Yelp
Spent 6 nights here as part of a large and probably obnoxious group. Overall, I was blown away by my experience (as well as by the entire staff's ability to handle aforementioned obnoxious group with grace and aplomb). I would recommend this property to anyone - whether a solo traveler or an event planner trying to organize a large gathering. I stayed in a one-bedroom residential suite which was very roomy and worthy of the five-star price tag. I loved the fireplace, oversized bathtub, and the fully-stocked kitchenette. However, nothing beat watching the sun rise over Snowmass Mountain from the comfort of our balcony! The facilities and amenities are also top-notch and great for large groups. We spent a lot of time at the outdoor hot tubs (of which there are two, as well as a heated pool), which perfectly complement a day on the slopes. The gym was well-sized and had a free-weight power rack (for squats, bench presses, etc.) - a rarity at hotels (even the most high-end hotels often top off at a Smith Machine). It was also incredibly convenient to have a ski valet and ski rental store located directly in the hotel! Location-wise, the only thing that would make this property better is it if were situated directly in Base Village like Limelight or Capitol Peak. With that being said, everything is incredibly convenient from Viceroy - Base Village and the grocery store (Clark's) are both less than a ten-minute walk away. For anything further, Viceroy has multiple shuttles on hand (both a large van and Cadillacs). To get to Aspen, you need only to take a public bus from nearby Base Village. Look forward to staying here again!

Yelp
World-class experience from valet to check-out! From the minute we were greeted upon arrival, we always felt coddled and authentically cared for. This was our very first visit to not just the Viceroy but Snowmass as well, and the visit made quite an impression on us that makes us want to return for sure. Our visit was due to a wedding, and to make the weekend even more fabulous was the complimentary upgrade to a suite upon check-in to top it all off. Our room was so nice, in fact, that we ended up using it to be the groom's final ready and photo room. Our unit was well appointed with Wolf and Viking appliances, and it was on the side that faces the ski mountain (which I recommend asking for upon making the reservation.) Along with the view, we also highly enjoyed cocktails by the the luxurious outdoor pool area and spas. Another amenity highlight was our brunch at Toro, complete with unforgettable outdoor view of the mountains and the most incredible salmon benedict that I may have ever had! Finally kudos to the event staff that produced the wedding banquet -- wow a true cherry on top of the whole experience, truly making all feel welcome with friendly and professional demeanor. Also top notch was the valet team, always available to take you anywhere you need to go. My only negative aspect was the finicky card keys; didn't always work on first swipe, and it wouldn't work on the outdoor fence entrance upon our return to the hotel. When we come back to Snowmass, we'll stay at the Viceroy (and maybe consider a property there, as apparently they have units for sale (not timeshare.)

Andrea K.

Yelp
The upsides are I love the hot chocolate stand with the options of peppermint taffy cinnamon and candy canes with the hot chocolate and I also love the make your own chrailmix bar but I think they should be more carfuls like a spa pipe broke and the alarm was so loud and anoing and the closet light was broken so we had had to call manence

Emily M.

Yelp
Filthy with poor service! It was a struggle to get any service here. For the cost of this place (20% tip added on to everything +$50 daily resort fee), this is unacceptable! I've had better stays at budget Holiday Inns. Every day after housekeeping came, I had to call for towels and toilet paper . Nothing was ever replenished...and room wasn't ever really cleaned. The Bare minimum was done at this hotel!! I even found a dried booger in the decorative pillow upon arrival! The only redeeming thing about the Viceroy was Nick, the valet, who was awesome! And the ski valet were on point too (but they were affiliated with Four Mountain Sports). I'm not sure if the dirtiness and poor service has to do with COVID and a worker shortage, but the Viceroy can't be charging 5 star prices if they can't live up to that expectation.

Alicia S.

Yelp
Asked for early check in. No room available. Left our bags with valet to be stored in the suitcase room. Went to grab lunch to kill time until room was available, came back to the hotel to find our bags sitting in the entry way unattended for anyone to pick up and walk off with. I spoke with valet manager and she did nothing. I explained how upset I was and all she could come up with was she had no idea why this happened and didnt compensate for anything. It was simple unacceptable. And I voiced that to her, I told her that I wasn't happy. She didn't even give me her name or try to make the situation better. Horrible experience. I won't be staying here again. If it was up to me I would of canceled my whole reservation with them and went to stay somewhere else. Do to the holiday season everywhere is limited.

David A.

Yelp
Worst experience I have ever had at a hotel especially of this caliber. My wife came down with covid and I called within 10 minutes of her positive test. I made reversions 4 days before we were arriving and then had to cancel 2 days later and they didn't care at all. When I say they didn't care my wife had covid they didn't care and said they can't cancel are reservation or even give a credit. I said you then prefer us to come and spread covid in the hotel and restaurants and she said it was ok but can't refund. Cost was 15K for the 4 days so it wasn't a small amount. The manager Shelly told me they promise certain amount of money to the owners and they can't change there plans even if we have covid. Wanted to let everybody know how bad the Viceroy is.

Kate Alex G.

Yelp
I have stayed at the Viceroy Snowmass twice now. Once before our wedding and second for our wedding. I love it every time! The price is so affordable for the service you receive and the luxury of the stay itself - plus the location is priceless! The Viceroy was hands down the best choice we could have made for our wedding venue. Katie our coordinator made the process so effortless and our ceremony and reception went off without a hitch! We can not wait until the day we get to return to Snowmass and stay at the Viceroy again!

Brandon M.

Yelp
WARNING: HOTEL ENCOURAGES PEOPLE TO COME WITH COVID. Worst hotel service ever! I have a reservation this upcoming weekend and my family came down with COVID. They will not offer me a refund nor even a credit. They say their policy is no refunds. They encouraged our family to come with COVID! Kathy is the manager in reservations who explained this absurd and unsafe policy!

Corinthia H.

Yelp
Viceroy Snowmass Review This review is long overdue. By more than 2 years. My apologies to those named below, that you haven't been properly and publicly praised, sooner. As someone who has grown up in the hospitality industry for the past 25+ years, I can honestly say, the staff and crew at the Viceroy Snowmass is what every single luxury brand, who prides themselves on customer service, should model themselves after. When you arrive you're immediately met with genuine kindness and incredibly fun personalities at the valet stand, (run by Scott). They truly do set the bar for the rest of your stay... amazing first impression. Scott has helped us out in numerous ways with recommendations on dining out, where to hike, where NOT to hike (ha!) etc.... wouldn't be surprised if he was moved into the front desk as head concierge next time were there! We love Scott! Our concierge service has been nothing short of exceptional, as well. Douglas, especially has gone above and beyond to make our stays with them special, remembering our anniversary and having bubbles and charcuterie waiting in our room, on just our second stay. The service in Toro is also a great reflection of the standards set by the hotel. Friendly and personable bartenders, servers and support staff and the coffee bar always has a smiling face waiting to help you get motivated to start your day. Please know how appreciative my husband and I are for your consistently kind and impeccable service. We look forward to countless more stays with you, in the years to come. Thank you for taking such great care. Peace, Angelo + Corrie

Yelp
We've stayed here for the past several years every December to ski with the family and loved it. One of my favorite places on the planet until this time. It's really gone "downhill" fast! And to think I almost bought into the property! So glad I didn't! The restaurant has changed to a South American vibe and the food was so spicy our kids couldn't even eat there. We had to order room service and no one could speak English. My Club Sandwich was not even Turkey and Bacon it was Canadian Bacon and the meat was so sparse it didn't even fill up half of the triangle. It was a joke, really! And the chicken noodle soup was one of the WORST I've ever eaten, truly. Campbell's soup would've been much more satisfying! I used to think this was almost a 5 star...now the rooms are still the same but everything else is like a nightmare. I called because the safe wasn't working and they sent someone up that couldn't even speak English and the whole conversation was a joke. I can't watch TV because I can't even figure out how to put on the channel guide. I'm a world wide traveler and am pretty much of a techie type person and this is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!! Please someone buy this place and get it back to the way it used to be! Snowmass really needs a first class resort at the bottom of a great mountain. Such a SHAME!!!

Eric V.

Yelp
My family and I really enjoyed our stay over the holidays. The employees all feel like your friends and it was really nice getting to know them over the week. Richard was really awesome and helpful in getting us set up with rental equipment at Four Mountain Sports. I definitely recommend paying for the premium upgrade in equipment (less than $20 I believe) - get yourself a brand new burton custom! We also enjoyed the outdoor hot tub at night. Great after a long day of riding. Jeff, who works the overnight shift, was so friendly and would check up on us to see if we needed anything. All around a wonderful trip and we plan to be back for more!

Anna G.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in February, two years in a row. I love this place so will have to make it third. It has everything you would want for a luxurious ski getaway - cozy room accommodations with a fireplace, excellent staff, ski rentals directly in the hotel, ski valet and ski in/ski out access, private hotel shuttles that will take u anywhere u need to go in Snowmass, and a 5 minute walk from base village.

Mona P.

Yelp
WOW, where do I start! First off the parking attendants are amazing. They helped us unload our luggage, opens and closes our doors. Here's the more important part of the 5th star! The room are amazing. Omg i am so in love with the tub, the cute kitchen area, the bed, the fire place and the pool. This hotel is beyond amazing. I would give it a 10 star if i had t more stars to give! Definitely coming back!

Marie S.

Yelp
I stopped by to visit some friends that were staying here and had a run in with a very rude and power hungry valet. Since I was only going to be there shortly, I asked to park my truck out front in the spots that say "reserved for valet". He said no and claimed that those spots were for cars owned by the hotel. Really?!? A BMW with Idaho license plates is owned by the hotel? And a Subaru with a roof top box is owned by the hotel? It's all BS. He just didn't like the look of my lifted Tacoma. Not okay to discriminate against people like this. It is NOT okay to lie to visitors or to guests. I hope management sees this and addresses the issue.

Brooke W.

Yelp
AH-MAZING! We stayed at the Viceroy last minute, as we had issues with a hotel we had originally booked in Aspen. First time to the area, we were slightly disappointed to not stay IN Aspen... until we got to the Viceroy. From the very beginning we were greeted with smiles and had nothing but amazing service. We originally booked a studio but upgraded to a one bedroom. Best decision ever! The room contains a full mini kitchen, washer & dryer, fireplace that looks through from living to bedroom. The room even comes with a humidifier, which was most welcome. Best part for me was the bathroom; there was a HUGE soaker tub. At first, it took a good 30 minutes to fill the tub half way (but I think our tub might have had issues with the stopper). The bathroom was stoked with great quality soaps, shampoo, and Epsom salts. We ordered room service and it was prompt and delicious. After this we went down to the Toro Restaurant and Bar to enjoy a night cap. Marci the bartender was knowledgeable and personable. We booked a couples massage for the next morning and it was everything we hoped it would be. I cannot wait to come back!

Lishya H.

Yelp
We stayed here for our babymoon and loved it! The staffs were really nice and very accommodating. They do shuttle around town and it's such a small and cozy town. The room was really nice and clean, great shower and tub. Bed was comfy enough for 6 months preggo woman and they also have robe and slippers. We went to the Eight K Bar and Ben, the bartender is extremely nice. He made THE BEST virgin Mojito, it was very refreshing yet tasty, and not too sweet/minty. My husband loved his drinks too. Definitely, will go back.... you can never go wrong with Viceroy!

Jack T.

Yelp
July 1, 2019: My prior reviews were during the winter ski season. When we stayed at the Viceroy Hotel at Snowmass, it was truly a five-star experience. We enjoyed the whole experience so much including the super dining experiences at the Toro restaurant, we decided to purchase a hotel condo in the Viceroy. We are now here for three weeks during the summer and the Toro restaurant in the Viceroy along with Viceroy's excellent services and amenities are still very impressive.

Yasmin S.

Yelp
The location is great, truly but I expected a lot more from a "luxury" hotel. The wallpaper was peeling off, the door to the patio doesn't lock, the bed was covered in lint and hair, and I found a dried contact lens in the bed. Had to load all of my own stuff onto the luggage cart and was shocked when the guy wanted a tip. The elevators were broken (one was working when I arrived, and I met a guy at the pool the next day who told me he got caught in the one that was working for over 2 hours the previous night leaving both elevators out of service upon my checkout). I had a facial at the spa, and it was just okay - the lady talked a lot, the pandora music had adds, and she put Vaseline on my lips. When you pay over $400 for a facial (plus the automatically added 20% gratuity) I expect a little more high end products than Vaseline. For the price they charge to stay here, I definitely expected A LOT more in terms of cleanliness and service. Great view, subpar service, terrible rooms.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to place a review , This place was awesome. Our Daughter had her wedding there, on 12 Oct 18 . This place ooozed class. The front desk , the guys unloading your car & valet guys were very attentive. The waitstaff at the reception were all good. Food excellent. A special shout out to the wedding coordinator Meghan, she always returned emails & calls to my wife & Daughter. She was very professional..We are in a Chicago suburb, so it was good to know Meghan got back to us & kept us informed . Ty again for a memorable wedding, The guests were very impressed as well . Great job Viceroy & Meghan. By the way we stayed in a 3 bedroom suite ,. The accommodations were excellent

Yelp
The Viceroy is amazing. Spacious rooms, wonderful outdoor hot tub and heated pool, ski valet services and ski in ski out. If you want to treat yourself to a luxurious stay, come here.

Yelp
Absolutely the BEST ski-in, ski-out in Snowmass. Considering I have a knee injury which makes walking in boots uncomfortable, The Viceroy is a wonderful help! From our front door of our room to help putting on my gear in Four Mountain Sports right there on the same floor! it is less than 100 small steps to the slopes! Love that convenience. Plus, stellar accommodations and food.

Yelp
Super disappointed. Booked a room here over Labor Day weekend to attend JAS festival. I was assured The Viceroy had frequent shuttles running to and from the festival. They fully booked the hotel yet only had two small shuttles running. Every time we rode, it was standing room only. Waits to ride home were over an hour two separate nights. Upon returning to hotel, bar and restaurant were understaffed and couldn't keep up. It was taking over an hour to get a cocktail. Completely unacceptable for a hotel charging $1000 nightly. If you don't have the staff, don't book all the rooms. It's really that simple.

Yelp
Ridiculous check-in process. I arrived a bit early, so I understand my room wasn't quite ready. They suggested my room was being prepared and would just be "a bit." Made me drag my bags out of the manual doors and give them to a bellman who wasn't there. He finally showed up and took my bags. I wandered through a stairwell of dirty linens and broken doors to find a pool bar for lunch. That was pretty good but $25 for a chicken salad. I sat awhile longer to enjoy the outdoors. Three hours later they have a trainee telling me they're fixing the refrigerator in my room, while I wait on the lobby. They r not offered me as much as a glass of water. Terrible. I'm being patient but not for long. Disgusting service. Won't be back.

Yelp
Hope you are ready for a covid outbreak. We were encouraged to come to the hotel despite reporting covid positive cases in our family. The manager suggested rather than refund us we head to the resort. Wonder if you owners out there would think highly of this suggestion WARNING!! Viceroy snow mass has a policy that they encourage people w Covid to come to hotel because they need the revenue so badly! Robert Purdy told me this! He's the GM there. Be careful!!

Yelp
At a hotel like this one expects great service but Gede Irfan, our bartender at the pool bar went above and beyond. Not often you want to just throw your money at someone for just being an awesome bartender. If the world had more bartenders like Gede we'd all be in a better place.

Yelp
I am sad. Viceroy Snowmass is now under new ownership and it's just not the same. We have stayed here for years and my husband brings many clients here. This used to matter. We would get a nice welcome and a beautiful room. This stay there have been 2 days of consecutive events that have either closed the pool area completely or caused late night noise that can be heard throughout the hotel. Some of the same staff is still here but not the ones who used to go out of their way to make us feel at home. Totally bummed.

Yelp
Our stay was wonderful and the location for skiing is perfect. The ski valet is one of the best aspects of the hotel. They dry your boots overnight and even help you put them on! Skis are waiting for you outside/slopeside for a quick run down to the lift. Mark and Tavin were especially helpful in the ski valet area. The bartender, Sean, out by the hot tub also offered excellent service. We enjoyed our stay despite the Covid restrictions.

Yelp
For those of you reviewing this hotel poorly because a burger costs $16 at a 5 star hotel and other ridiculous reasons, you need to scram. Maybe the manager wouldn't have laughed at you if you weren't being so absurd. This place is not for the parsimonious. The prices are very justified for the service and quality of the amenities. I remember our first night here, the man we shared the shuttle from the airport tipped our driver a $20, and a lady walked up to the front desk and randomly tipped a $10 just because the associate was a "nice young man". Not saying that's what you should do, but that's the kind of demographics that tend stay here. We came here to ski for 4 days and our stay here was beyond what we expected. Employees dive to open doors for you, shuttles and valet rides come complimentary within 5 minutes of your request, hot chocolate and apple cider at the front, cleaning team going fold-happy over everything in your room even when you told them it's not necessary, room amenities that I had to spend a couple minutes figuring out how to work, their own ski rental inside the hotel, 2 hot tubs out back with a bartender that rushes out to the pool to ask if you need a drink soon after you get seated... I'm sure I'm leaving out a lot. This place really makes you feel spoiled. If you're here to ski, ask about discounts on equipment rentals over the phone. We didn't see the coupon they left in our room (30% off) until we already ordered in advance.

Yelp
Style over service. Don't be duped into spending approximately $500/night to expect 5 star service. Bellhop took almost an hour to bring up the luggage cart during arrival and departure. Valet service and front desk could use a lesson in hospitality. Maybe Viceroy doesn't believe in greeting their guests with class yet expect to be tipped for it. Not once did I hear, "ma'am", "sir", "how's your day?" Pros: -dog friendly -Nespresso refilled daily -humidifier -shuttle to local restaurants -valet parking reasonably priced, $15/day -convenient location in Snowmass Village -kitchenette with namebrand appliances Cons: -nonfunctional restroom, half shower door and sink faucet that washes the entire bathroom floor and counters during handwashing and showering -uncomfortable clumpy mattresses -motel rated service

Yelp
I booked an umpcoming stay through Viceroy Snowmass for December 18th. I am concerned with traveling now because of the COVID-19 rapidly increasing rates. I asked to be accommodated (refunded) for the half of the stay I paid for in advance and was told no. Half the the 3-day stay is $1800 and I was told I could not be refunded regardless of the pandemic. I will never stay or book with another Viceroy property. The costumer service is similar to a 1 star hotel. They are unfriendly, unempatheic, and money hungry during such unprecedented times.

Yelp
During my stay, I injured my shin while walking outside by the pool area. The lighting was so poor and dim, that the furniture could not even be seen. The injury itself resulted in significant bleeding and large contusions/bruising that limited my activity for the next few weeks (including hiking during this trip and a marathon I had been training for). When speaking with the front desk about the injury (Douglas, Robert, and team), they showed relatively little concern and mentioned that the lighting met the lumen requirements for the area. They did nothing to even suggest moving the patio furniture (it's winter) or adding small tealights to contrast the dark brown furniture (would make a big improvement). In addition, they said I would be contacted in 3 days to discuss the injury and preventative actions, but I never received a call. It's alarming the relative lack of concern considering the injuries and the fact that I fell face first towards the concrete. It is only a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured out there.

Yelp
First looks can be deceiving. When we got there, our bathroom exhaust fan would not stop. We called and were told that it was one of 2 rooms that this issue could not be fixed and would run continuously. Safety concerns aside was very disappointed and had to keep the door closed to help lower the noise. It gets worse, after enjoying a fantastic dinner in town around 9PM we started to hear what sounded like techno music below us. It would not stop so I called the front desk who "played dumb" that they were not aware of what it could be. After looking into it further it was a wedding reception. Was exhausted and had to listen to music until 1-2 AM. For the price I paid and the staff lying to me, I would never stay at this place ever again. Such a disappointment for the reviews beforehand. Save yourself some money and look elsewhere with folks who have some integrity.

Yelp
Amazing Amazing experience here. I was invited up here for a weekend of snowboarding. I had looked up the place prior to arriving and it was BEYOND what I had expected when I got there. Our room was like a mini home with everything from a fireplace to a fully supplied kitchen. They even had a washer/dryer. Our stay was a very comfortable and cozy one. After hitting the slopes, coming back to a fireplace feels incredible. Room service, and courtesy transportation had top notch service.
