The property was beautiful. The baths were easy to use. The rooms were cute and quaint with no TV which was actually pretty nice. Quiet and relaxing. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that for my first hot springs experience, it wasn't very hot. They said it was 90°, and 94° for the baths and it felt more like 70° and 74°. The carbonated water was pretty cool. And the hike to the waterfall was mostly shady and easy. Wear shoes so you dont slip!

We wanted to go on a girls trip to Mendocino county and I did stay here before, in 2014. It's at the end of a country road and it's very quiet and peaceful. We booked a one bedroom cottage(number 25). My friend took the bedroom and I used the living room couch bed. The cottage has a nice porch, kitchen and a large bathroom(disabled accessible bathroom). I used all the tubs and the solar heated pool. The champagne spring water is carbonated and at a comfortable 90 degrees. It was relaxing in the tubs. There is also a nature trail. My last morning I went on the trail and it was full of lizards sunning themselves, then, on the edge of the trail a snake was curled up. At the trailhead they warn of rattlesnakes. This snake was not a rattler, but I decided to leave it be and turn back and go to the breakfast room. I have to say, their breakfast buffet was excellent. The fresh fruit was really good, their scrambled eggs are fine, lots of pastries and bagels with cream cheese available. Yogurt, milk and granola also available. Coffee and tea. Plates, glasses, tea cups and silverware were there which I like. They do have to go coffee paper cups if you need. Others mention the nearby gun range and that can get loud so that does interfere with the peaceful setting, but this is life out in rural areas. And related to the rural setting, the wifi can be spotty. This forced a digital detox which I did not mind! I had plenty of books to read.

If you haven’t been before there is no time like now! Vichy Springs is a one of a kind magical destination. Quiet and peaceful with naturally healing waters. I feel so refreshed and my skin is so soft!

Beautiful, relaxing location. The water was perfect. I love that there is no use of pool chemicals and that the water in the baths is straight out of the ground. I always feel like I've experienced some healing when I leave this place.

Here are the positive highlights : lovely peaceful grounds. Gorgeous Olympic size pool with plenty of seating. Interesting historic “champagne baths” and a hot tub ( no jets) Here’s the very very bad… the stressful, alarming sound of gunshots all day from a nearby gun range. It was totally impossible to relax without AirPods which kind of defeats the purpose. The owner was kind enough to refund our last day and we went home early. Otherwise, it is a gorgeous property and I hope the owner is able to prevail on his case against the local gun club causing the property owner and their guests so much distress.

This is a magical place to unplug and recharge. The springs are fantastic, the hot tub and pool are sparkling clean and the rooms are charming and well-appointed. There's even a lovely complimentary breakfast served every morning. It's one of my favorite places ever.

Google
I highly recommend this hot spring and the famous Champe Bath for those who love nature and simplicity. It's a ranch-style resort surrounded by hills, forests, and a creek, offering mineral hot springs for a peaceful, relaxing getaway—whether for an overnight stay or a day trip away from the city. I first visited in December for a day-use visit while passing through town and absolutely loved it. I returned in March for an overnight trip with a girlfriend and had the incredible experience of soaking in the Champe Bath under an open sky filled with stars and a bright half-moon. It was amazing, though a bit chilly when stepping out of the tub to get to the hot springs. The next morning, we enjoyed another session of the Champe Bath, followed by the hot springs and the Beauty Bath under the sunshine, which was even more relaxing and pleasant. I love this place and will visit as often as I can whenever I'm back in the Bay Area.

The Champagne bath and Boron baths were nice yet we have been to other springs where there is an immediate and noticeable change in our bodies.

Yelp
This place is a work of love and dedication to times gone - a quiet getaway for any time of year, a travel to ancient waters used for centuries for whatever health benefits you believe in but certainly a way to relax the mind and to detox from cities and news. This was my 4 th visit, each time with a different stressed out family member. Each time it took them (and me) a day to let go - but we always did. Whether you go there to submerge yourself in metal/sulfur-smelling bubbly waters, Boron ones, or the hot tub ... or to take a long long walk up winding trails into the hills, this place is sure to unplug your mind. The baths are old and stained by Nature. If you want artificial McTreatment, this is not for you. However, if you want "back to simple" and true, then this is for you. EX: Poison oak encounter? No worries, wash it all off in the alkaline waters! It's true! I am SEVERELY ALLERGIC to poison oak, yet when the rash started, it was stopped in its tracks and gone after a bit of soak time in a bubbly bath! Oh - and they are open for use until 2AM. Breakfast is included. Staff is friendly. The owner is full of history and stories.

Yelp
Ever since I'd heard there were carbonated waters, geothermally heated that were hours from The Bay Area, I longed to sit and recenter myself in this magical place. Committing to the 3 hour drive was perhaps the hardest thing to do, but as soon as I parked, I knew I made the right decision. I was instantly transported into another dimension when I opened my car door. I was filled with a flood of peace, relief, and optimism I'd been missing. Now, this place will make you slow down and be present. But in a very intentional way. Ukiah has a different heart beat than the hustle and bustle of Silicon Valley, and if you don't enjoy waving at cars that pass you on the road, or stopping to talk to dogs that are interested in smelling you, then YOU may not be a good fit for the energy of this property. And I was blown away with how reasonable it was. The best $35 dollars I've spent in AGES. And I do feel healed, recentered, and decisive after soaking in the carbonated bath, the indoor beauty bath (that left my skin so soft, I couldn't stop touching myself), and the communal hot tub (that I was chased into by a wasp). Disclaimer: these pools are outdoors. If bugs give you the ick, you may struggle to enjoy this peacefully. I did spend time fighting with some sort of water spider who was determined to bathe with me. But not today, Satan, I eventually won that battle and settled back into enjoying my time. I didn't drink the water, but I really wanted to. The drinking water was locked for the general public on the day I visited. And I was lucky to arrive just before 1 pm. It was the sweet spot: pretty empty, so I got to enjoy the place to myself. As it neared 3 pm, a smattering of folks filtered in and polluted the air with talk about work, irritating refunds, and other things I was trying to escape myself. I took that as a sign to leave, and make plans to stay over night on another occasion. Thank you, Gaila, in the front office, for your hospitality upon my arrival, your easy transference of information about using these ancient baths, and for creating a supportive space for my indecision. I needed flexible options until I could be decisive. And I found everything my heart was craving at this visit. Until next time.

Yelp
This review is for day use: - Park, check in at the office (they do an initial hold for $100, then when you check out later, they determine how long you stayed and whether to charge for 2 hours, 3 hours, or all day as applicable). Bring your own towel (and swimsuit), and would also recommend bringing flip flops and a plastic bag to carry your stuff around in to the different areas for convenience and so they don't get wet. - We went during a rainy winter day and it was perfect. Only 3 other people in addition to the two of us, so it was quiet but allowed for pleasant conversation. The feeling of cold rain falling while you're snuggled in a hot tub is - Would recommend this order in cold weather when it's not busy: Champagne baths on the left first, then while you wait for the other bath on the right side to fill, hop in the hot tub! Finally, my preferred order was champagne bath, right side, hot tub, repeat. The baths are basically body temperature. I like that because I can sit longer without feeling super pruny, but it still makes the hot tub extremely satisfying. The baths smell fairly lightly of sulfur, with the ones on the right side smelling the least (imo). - We couldn't get to the falls because the way was shut (by water), but it was really gorgeous up until we had to turn back. We saw what appeared to be red-bellied newts, which was really cool and I was glad we didn't accidentally step on them. Take your time to be conscious of your surroundings! Imagine the views from the perspective of an ant! You can listen to the stream talking at certain points as well :) Lots of robins to watch and listen to near the front gate. - Service was really great, super accomodating and kind.

Yelp
This is such a special place, a visit to Vichy Springs Resort is guaranteed to be a rejuvenating experience! The people working here are lovely and very helpful on the phone if you have any questions beforehand, and the entire property is gorgeous. I stayed here with two friends in Cabin 22 (2 bedroom cabin with one Queen and 2 Twin beds) and we were surprised how roomy it was! There were 2 bedrooms, a cozy living room with fireplace, big bathroom and kitchen area complete with a small fridge, stovetop, oven, and basic cookware. It was thoughtfully decorated and filled with charm. The hot spring water was much cooler than I was used to, but there was no strong sulfur odor, delightfuly delicate bubbles, and the relaxation I felt after soaking was very noticeable. The "beauty baths" really did make our skin feel softer, and the hot tub has the most beautiful view of ferns and the forest. There are special touches everywhere, from seasonal decorations and a delicious breakfast spread to cute signs guiding you the right way on the many stunning hiking trails. No wonder this resort has remained popular for so many decades!

Yelp
Stayed 2 nights and 3 days at Vichy Springs Resort and had a fantastic time. This was my first experience here, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was beyond my expectations. The rooms were very clean and comfortable for the most part except one person in my small group had to sleep on a roll-away and it definitely needed improvement; the springs in the middle were broken (unattached) and the bed sagged horribly. Other than that both our rooms were fine. AC units, although a bit noisy, worked well. A few mosquitos did find their way into our room and I got bitten, but that's par for the course, I think. The champagne baths were relaxing and the temperature was just right to counter balance the hot weather; if the weather was cooler, the baths might have been a tad too cool. Soaking in the ancient tubs for an hour at a time was just what I needed and there were enough tubs so I didn't feel rushed! After the baths, it was great to sit in the hot tub for a bit, too. My friends really enjoyed the Olympic sized pool on the premises. The water sparkled and there was plenty of room for all the guests to swim at the same time. Lots of trails for hiking, too, so bring shoes for that! The buffet breakfast was a wonderful addition to our stay. They recently resumed serving this breakfast after taking a Covid break. The offerings were substantial with eggs, bagels, granola, yogurt, lots of fruit, and lots of pastries offered along with juice, tea, and coffee. There *is* a gun club a little ways from the resort and you can hear them shooting, but it was pretty muted, and didn't bother me after a bit. You just have to try to tune it out! It would be nice if the resort listed all the amenities on their website. They don't mention if hairdryers are available (they are), whether or not they provide shampoo and conditioner (they do), or if there's a refrigerator in the room (one room had one). I tried contacting them before going, but they didn't reply to my email or return the phone call after I left a message to ask. The one thing I would suggest is that if you book, be sure to keep track of the billing. Both my friend and I were almost charged twice for our rooms. The first charge when we made our reservations was supposed to be a "pending" charge, but it was actually charged through. Then they tried to charge us again after our stay. If I didn't remember that the first charge had posted three months earlier, I wouldn't have known to tell them. The person at the desk said the first charge shouldn't have gone through (they're only supposed to put a "pending charge" on your card), but apparently the person who took our reservations forgot and charged it through. So just be sure you know how many times you're being charged!! They were apologetic when it finally got straightened out, but I'm glad we got to the bottom of that snafu! Will definitely return. Really nice getaway that's not too far away from the big cities!

Yelp
Vichy Springs is a little slice of heaven in Ukiah, California. The pools are healing with champagne springs which are rare and well over 5 million years old. The grounds are breathtaking and surrounded by areas you can hike. You can bring a bike and cycle to Hopland down Old River Road. The swimming pool is huge enough for laps and clean and chorine free. It's just a lovely place to heal and rest Or be active. Grab a dinner at Oco Time for a great weekend. Thank you Vichy for all that you give.

Yelp
The view is beautiful, the springs are fun and different (though not life changing in any way), but the rooms themselves and the breakfast are not worth how insanely expensive the rooms were. For the cost and location it should have been much nicer

Yelp
CHAMPAGNE BATHS aka Naturally Carbonated Vichy Mineral Baths are worth trying and makes this place unique! I love me a good relaxing spa situation, and yes we all deserve to treat ourselves!! We came in on a Sunday for a walk-in day use - rates are $35 each (2 hours or less) or $50 each (3 hours or less). I found the 2 hours to be plenty of time to enjoy the champagne bath and hot tub (I love hot tubs!). The hot tub was extra toasty and felt amazing because we went at the beginning of November and we were shivering like babies when we came out of the champagne baths (lol though it's a short walk). The other offerings include a pool and a hike to a waterfall. We did not do the pool nor the hike to the waterfall, so I can't comment on these! I wanted to keep our visit short and sweet - and just focus on the champagne baths. I really had some nice quiet, reflective time, sitting in their outdoor champagne baths (they have indoor ones too), enjoying the nature sounds around me! The cell signal is pretty bad in the pool area, which is perfect since this is the time to disconnect and not be on your phone. I sat there playing with the bubbles and watching them form on my skin. It was really cool! I was chilling and letting those health benefits sink in haha. If you don't go to the waterfall, everything is pretty contained within a 5 minute walking area. When we checked in, we got a very quick overview of the different baths/pools and how to operate them. The woman at the front desk spoke way fast and monotone lol it was almost hard to catch everything, but totally understandable since she's giving the same spiel to each guest. They asked if I wanted towels and it was so casually asked that I didn't realize til after that they charged - $3 per towel. Bring towels to save yourself a few bucks! When you check out, that is the time wherein they'll charge you based on how much time you've spent. They tell you your start time so you know when to come back. She kindly gives a time a few minutes ahead so you can get ready before heading on and enjoying the facilities. I came in my swimsuit but left my clothes in the car. We came prepared with bath robes and slippers to be extra comfy walking around, especially during fall/winter time. I brought with me while enjoying the baths-- my water, phone, keys -- the essentials! Overall, well worth $35 each for 2 hours of hot tub and champagne baths. Disconnnect, relax, and enjoy! :)

Yelp
This visit has been wonderful! Kristen at the front desk was very welcoming and kind. We loved our stay in the 2-bedroom Cottage with our kiddos. It has been so fun to hike the trails, relax in the baths and hot tub. Breakfast is back! So delicious with outstanding customer service. We look forward to returning for another stay!

Yelp
It's natural pure beauty of nature. This place has the power to give yourself a great satisfaction of Mother Nature's mineral spring water that makes your skin so amazingly soft. After you soak in the tub. I LOVE THIS PLACE...

Yelp
A lovely, peaceful environment to spend a weekend or just a day! We arrived in a rainy day and the grounds were practically empty. We paid the 2 hour rate just to relax and soak in the mineral tubs and hot tub. If the weather was better we would have hiked as well but the soaking was enough!

Yelp
Absolutely fell in love with the place when we arrived we stayed a couple of extra days me and my wife to spend time together in a very magical place. it is definitely a hidden treasure in California. We are definitely going back again.

Yelp
Thank you Gaia for managing to get us in to your magical waters on a busy holiday weekend. Folks have been soaking in your spa since the 1800's for good reason. We appreciate your efforts and had a never to be forgotten experience.

Yelp
What an amazing experience on a cold late fall my dear friend and I came here last Friday 11/24/23 for a girls spa day, it was peaceful, friendly and affordable! Looking forward to coming back soon. Thanks Vichy

Yelp
Excellent get away from the city, you can relax in the warm water of the hot springs as the bubbles flo all over your body giving you such a feeling of euphoria. Enjoy the beautiful grounds with a hike to see the waterfalls on the property or lounge by the pool. I'd recommend getting a cottage if you can space is quaint and comfortable. Staff at the front desk was wonderful and knowledgeable of the property and area. Take a look and get out of the city for a few days this is a nice trip. Restaurants in the area and if you're a golfer you must try the local course here, for a public course it's beautiful! Don't sleep on this hidden gem.

Yelp
We are coming to Vichy Springs very often: when time allows - every two weeks year round, from Daly City, CA. It is our favorite resort for the last 25 years. We feel home there, staying overnight in the luxury cottages or paying just daily visit. What is amazing there - I wouldn't be able to say in few words, but first what comes up are hospitality, wildlife, silence, fresh air, and of course - the famous Vichy Springs carbonated water. We soak in it, we drink it, we take it home. Not to mention that all of that, plus neat and clean environment is taken care of and maintained by Gilbert Ashoff and his stuff. Thank you so much for keeping this piece of Eden the way it is!

Yelp
Lovely spot but don't plan on using the healing waters if you have any mobility issues. Also the swimming pool that's featured on their website was 60 degrees in late April. Very disappointed.

Yelp
What a unique experience! Spent my birthday weekend here (just for day use) and it was such a great escape from the hustle and bustle of Bay Area life. We paid just for the day, which gives you access to all their trails and champagne baths. We went in the winter so it was quieter, but I can only imagine how busy it'd be in the summer since the baths were already almost full when we went. We started our afternoon off with a hike to the waterfall. I think it took us just over an hour roundtrip. Prepare to get wet, as the trail criss crosses a stream! It's a relaxing journey though and the falls are definitely a nice destination. The baths themselves were such a special experience. Do note that the bath you choose may not be the same as others, in that it won't fill up. We initially chose 2 baths that would not get past halfway in the tub. We were about to give up, but luckily found 2 other baths that worked much better and filled to the top no problem. I do wish all the baths worked the same, but I think it's due to the pressure of the springs underground and can't be helped by the property? I'm not entirely sure. The baths are ancient so don't be alarmed by their primitive appearances. What's so special about them are the bubbles that cling to your body while you're in there! I just closed my eyes and sank in for a good half hour and it was so therapeutic. Bring your own towels if you can since they charge for towels.

Yelp
I've been here many times over the years and this review is overdue. To keep it short there is not many places that I can feel fully rejuvenated throughout my body the way that I do after soaking here. I've done day visits and overnight and really the time that I stay does not matter I always feel fantastic after I leave.

Yelp
Loved this place! I celebrated my 30th birthday here in Dec 2021 w/ one of my BFFs and our group had such an enjoyable stay. I particularly loved how we were surrounded by serene nature, but it was close enough to wine tasting areas (which we totally did). Reservations were also easy. I placed it over the phone w/ no issues. We didn't have enough time, nor did we have the appropriate clothes/gear to fully explore this gem, but I will definitely come back to do some hiking!

Yelp
We met up with a couple of friends, They had rented a "cabin" and had invited us up for the day. It was a lovely day, first time being there and my friend being quite the hostess was excited to show us around and the history. We did the baths which were great, very invigorating. Kicked back in the hot tub and then went over to the pool for a swim and then back to the cabin for some snacks/dinner before we headed home. It was a perfect day with Vichy Springs being the perfect background to hang with our friends. We will definitely be back, it was a great getaway. Their cabin had two bedrooms, a kitchen and a Jack and Jill bathroom. Very roomy, and also had air-conditioning. Very large front porch/deck with a table chairs and had picnic tables out on the lawn that we enjoyed snacks on Perfect

Yelp
My husband planned a totally unexpected couples weekend for us to visit the famed Champagne baths. He booked us a Mountain View room for two nights. At first, I was a little hesitant and underwhelmed. I can be a bit of a princess and I like to be pampered. What you'll get here is a lovely, albeit no frills, experience. The check in was quick and we were handed real keys to the room (no electronic locks here). The grounds were quiet and orderly, although the plants were suffering with the current drought conditions (and water restrictions). Our room was small, clean and bright. Beautiful blue French toile bedding and curtains, whitewashed board walls and ceiling. I was distraught that there was no mini fridge, but we chilled the wine we picked up at a winery en route in an ice bucket. Not to waste time, we headed straight to the baths to check them out. I'm not going to lie.. my first reaction was a bit put off. Luckily, the owner prepared us during checkin and we knew the colorful calcification on the stone tubs was from the richness of minerals in the water. The water, a natural 91 degrees, fills the tub and you plop your overtired little body right in. Tiny bit of heaven. Imagine your body suspended in an effervescent womb... if you're brave enough to put your ears in you'll be tickled with all the bubbles. So relaxing. You can choose to soak in an enclosed room or outside. There's also a hot tub and hundreds of acres to explore and hike. The pool is gigantic and beautiful. Crystal clear water, no chlorine and plenty of space to relax and maintain social distance. Tips: there is currently no breakfast served (not even coffee service ), so plan on going out. There are no meals, only a few vending machines for soda and snacks. If you want food in your room, bring a cooler. There are picnic tables placed around the facility and the pool area. This is a quiet, out of the way place to plan on relaxing, reading, soaking and doing absolutely nothing. Go, enjoy the quiet and detox away.

Yelp
We arrived just as the front desk woman was leaving. She left an envelope with instructions and also let us know about the emergency number to call if we need anything. Don't bother because we called a few times and they never called back. It took us a minute to find the room in the dark. Once inside, we saw that the ENTIRE ceiling was covered with bugs. When some of them started to drop down and in my shirt, we knew it was 1000000000% that we needed to leave. We had to find and check into another hotel. Images from the video we took are attached since we can't upload the video. All the tiny black dots are bugs that were moving around. Also for almost $650 for 2 nights, we expected WAY more.

Yelp
Vichy Springs are cool, they are not hot. They are not warm. The water is around skin temperature so it feels slightly chill. There is a gun club across the road that is open from morning to night every day so it sounds like you are in a war zone all day. This is sad for the resort and detracts from a relaxing experience. The rooms are quite small and have little ventilation other than a/c units. During Summer months you have to sleep with the a/c on all night. Ceiling fans would be nicer but there are none. There are also very bright porch lights on all night that are not controllable and are like headlights shining on your room. We hung beach towels over the curtains to approximate nighttime. Not a relaxing country experience.

Yelp
Love this place! Have been going on my birthday for the past few years! The outdoor tubs and peaceful property are so special!

Lev C.

Yelp
Vichy Springs is a wonderful place. My wife and I really liked it there. ..The main thing is ancient stone baths with mineral water at 33 degrees C, you bathe like in champagne with bubbles, after taking which the skin becomes soft and silky and is good for the joints. There is a hot jacuzzi nearby. A very beautiful waterfall, the road to which runs along the stream and is a 40-minute walk. Here you can ride horses and swim in a huge pool. Excellent breakfast with fresh fruit, yoghurts and more. The dining room is very richly furnished with rare stones collected from all over the world. The owner of the resort, Gilbert, is a very nice person who helps visitors and even gave us a great tour of his resort. Gilbert, we are grateful to you for the good reception and we are going to come again with friends, so hold a place for us (just kidding). By the way, the city of Ukiah is nearby, a good city with excellent cafes, restaurants and bakeries. Thank you very much and we advise everyone to visit this wonderful place. Chernykh Tamara, Lev

Yelp
It's difficult to rate Vichy Springs because I have various feelings regarding the property and the actual hotel room. So, I guess I will do an average. Property Grounds (5 star) - The property was absolutely beautiful. We did not go for a hike but if I visit again I will take advantage of the hike. Pool/Bath (4 star) - The champagne bath was absolutely amazing! It's the best part of the entire place. We had aches and pains which went away with some time in the bath. The swimming pool was huge... my only complaint is that is was freezing cold despite being advertised as being heated by solar. This was not the case. Hotel Room (2 star) - The pillows were flat and in comfortable. The bed was hard... it felt as if I was sleeping on the ground. They really need to invest in new mattresses and pillows. We had to go into the Champaign baths before we left because the bed made us hurt. Despite being off, the heater made a ticking sound all night. I got absolutely no sleep because of this.

Yelp
I frequented this business for years paying online and arriving to find a key waiting for me after hours. I found the staff professional at worst and the overall experience wonderful at best...until this spring .. As other reviews here which have not been cleansed from this page do note, the staff occasionally tries to abuse and bully guests by demanding credit cards when there is no need to demand a physical credit card. One specific excuse for abusing customers that you can see repeated in more than just this review on Yelp, is when a customer books online and has no further business with the front office staff. If the unlucky person in this situation comes near the front office staff, they are sometimes subject to verbal assault, threats, and accusations by the front office staff. This business would receive no stars if I had not experienced good service over the years. This year, after having experience what I did and reading other Yelp reviews, I fear that my good experience may have occurred because I simply avoided the front office staff. It is important to the community that problems like this be spoken of publicly. This place really could be a treasure.

Yelp
The owner Gilbert reveres the past and intermingles the best of today. The Creekside rooms are modern with a European style, the mineral baths are eclectic, the pool is a real 25m swimmers pool, and the walks through the grounds are as aggressive or calm as you choose. The WiFi and cell reception are as hopeless as they should be if you value relaxation and reflection. I will return soon!

Yelp
My daughter and I stayed for 2 nights in a Creekside room. Everything was very clean and comfortable, but bare bones: no refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker or TV. Ice was available and my daughter brought me coffee from the breakfast buffet (included) so we were fine, but maybe not for everyone. There's cottages with kitchens; maybe for a longer stay. I made my mobility issues known during booking. We were placed near to the pool which was appreciated. The steps to get into the room would have been a problem if my daughter was not there for support. I was unable to use the famed baths which are set into the floor; without a forklift More stars if I could have used all of the amenities.

Yelp
I enjoyed a relaxing day and evening at Vichy Springs! The grounds are beautiful - like an oasis with tons of butterflies, dragonflies, birds and a few lizards! The rooms are refurbished yet still maintain the rustic feel that one would expect. Breakfast was a beautiful spread of eggs, fruit and pastries. The Champaign Bath and the Beauty Baths were so relaxing. The baths are warm (not a hot springs bath) and comfortable. My skin and body felt great after the soak! I also had a massage with Nancy - this was likely the best massage I have ever had! She knows what she is doing and works all the "spots"! This is a great spot to rest and rejuvenate!

Yelp
This is the most tranquil setting! The mineral baths are so rejuvinating and relaxing! The pool is always the perfect temp refreshing! The grounds are beautifully maintained. The cottages are super clean with comfy beds. Everyone who works here makes you feel like family! When I leave I can't wait to come back! Thank you Vichy for always making me feel welcome!

Yelp
I had a lovely stay at Vichy Hot Springs. The campus was well maintained and lovely. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin. It had basic amenities like small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, disposable shower cap and soap. They do not provide tooth brushes or tooth paste. If you need more towels, you'll have to walk to the office for them, or the service will bring it to you when they clean your cabin. The use of the towels were included in the cabin price (I read on their site they charge $3 per use of a towel). I enjoyed the cabin, it was clean and roomy. The bathroom was pretty big too. The cabin bathroom has a walk in shower. The cabin had a window AC that kept the hot summer heat (111 degrees F) out. The cabins don't have a freezer, so you'll have to bring your own cooler and fill it with ice. There's an ice maker in the exercise/ game room which is locked at 9 PM, I think it opens at 8 AM? So best get your ice before it closes. the machines and games are off limits due to COVID. The ice maker room is next to the mineral water unheated pool, near the entrance of the campus. The pool has a "public" restroom there and an outdoor shower next to the restroom. Another restroom is next to the office/ store. The baths were luxurious! I didn't expect such a relaxing stay considering I was expecting the hot weather and the hot springs mix would make me a boiled egg; but alas, I was a cool cucumber. But a hot spring dip in the middle of the beautiful inferno heat was surprisingly refreshing, relaxing and comfortable! I was able to fall asleep while floating comfortably in the champagne bath. I could feel the bubbles mature and float up from my skin and pop. It was such a treat. Like a light tickle of massage. All the baths and pool are all swimsuit mandatory. It's pretty dark out at night (baths close at 2 AM open at sunrise) so best to bring a flash light, a towel or robe and wear flip flops. The bridge to the tubs is really cute but bumpy. Their beauty baths don't work as well as the champagne baths, only one room filled the bath quicker than the others; given how many people are using bath at the same time, and the bath didn't drain fast either, and one bath was missing a plug. I love that there is a choice with the baths, semi indoor with a window with no glass (private) with two single tubs per room, and outdoor baths (more public). The hot tub next to the natural hot spring baths was so nice to use after a cool dip at night. I can see the stars, it's very relaxing with some cool drinks I brought to the tub. They used to allow people to drink and visit spring, but they closed it up due to COVID. The receptionist said you can still bottle up the water coming straight out of the tub unplugged before it touches the tub, plastic bottles only, no glass allowed. The water was salty, lightly carbonated and metallic tasting. The campus also has a meadow next to more rooms. There is a bbq pit there, and a lot of red woodpeckers and blue jays. The campus is several acres, I tried exploring, but i started too late...10AM and it was a burning inferno then. I gave up, but I would've loved to see the waterfall. The receptionist said that the waterfall was dried up at the time, so glad I didn't miss out. They have a room for breakfast, but it was closed because of COVID, and they didn't serve breakfast when I was there. But fear not, the town is just a few minutes drive away. The full kitchen in the cabin except for a freezer was available for making meals. They also have a cute store that sold rings and soap. Would've liked to buy some bath salts, earrings or mineral water from their springs, but they didn't have any. The owner said one day he'll bottle and sell the water like they did in the past. So until then, I'll just take a sip from the tub. The only thing I really would've made the trip 5 stars was to have a vending machine for ice cream since they don't have freezers, or just having a freezer for my ice cream after a bath. But I learned that yogurt or fruit milk would've been just as enjoyable after a hot dip, and that's possible with the small fridge in the cabin and a thermal bag. All in all, I love Vichy springs. I look forward to another future stay.

Yelp
WONDERFUL~ nostalgic place, great walking trails and serene peaceful property. The baths are hard on your knees but worth the soak. The hot tub was wonderful. The olympic size pool was freezing but noting the time of year, to be expected. The staff was wonderful. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy the serenity. This would be a great place to get a room for the weekend in the spring or fall. We will do it again!

Yelp
What a relaxing retreat! I had purchased a $100 off coupon from a local radio show that had restrictions on when it could be used, so I checked in on a Sunday night and checked out on a Tuesday morning. Even though it was the first week of July, there were not a lot of patrons there, making it a very calm and quiet experience! At one point my husband and I had the entire Olympic sized pool to ourselves! Checking in to the office, we were provided with a very detailed map of the grounds, including all the hiking trails. We booked a basic Mountain View Room. It was very small, but decorated very cute! I should note that the rooms do not have televisions, microwaves, or refrigerators. A huge plus to the lack of televisions is that you don't hear any tv noise from your next door guests! Lack of refrigerator and microwave is a bit inconvenient, because the resort only offers breakfast, so you're on your own for all other meals. There are lots of great places to eat very close by though, in both Ukiah and Hopland. I picked up some non-perishable snacks at a local health food store to keep in the room. The breakfast buffet was amazing! They had bagels, yogurt, granola, scrambled eggs, fruit, and pastries. The pool is kept immaculately clean. There were only two floating devices that appeared to belong to the resort, so if you're one to want an air mattress in the pool, I would suggest you bring your own. There are a good amount of lounge chairs, and sitting chairs, as well as an outdoor shower and bathrooms right by the pool. A small Rec room close by had two pinball machines, a foosball table, a treadmill, and a vending machine with cold drinks. A few times we heard gunshots in the distance, and when we asked the front desk, they said there was a gun club very close by, and that they didn't have a specific schedule. Wanted to note this for any patrons whom this could be triggering for! The mineral baths were neat! The water is around 90 degrees and once submerged, your skin is covered in tiny bubbles. After sitting in the mineral baths for a while, I would get cold, but in between both rows of mineral baths was an outdoor hot tub. We would hit the tub in between the baths, it was perfect! I will note that the doors to these mineral baths don't lock, but they all have open air windows, and if you hang your towel on the window ledge, people walking towards the baths can easily see which ones are occupied. Signs inside the baths remind you to keep your voice down. It was very quiet in the baths, except for one afternoon when a kid was playing basketball on a small gravel court that was somewhat close to the baths. I also want to advise that if you're prone to mosquito bites, you'll want to bring some kind of repellent. Walking back to our rooms from the baths there was a large open lawn with picnic tables. Cute little lizards were running around on the paved walkway. The Mountain View rooms all have a large porch space with nice shade, chairs, and hooks to hang your wet towels. One morning we hiked to the waterfall and back. The fall was more like a trickle when we were there, but it was still beautiful! We saw lots of deer, frogs, and salamanders on the way. You'll want to have good shoes for the hike and I wouldn't recommend it for any feeble individuals. You will need to cross creeks in a few areas, sometimes on small and wet rocks, and there are also some steep portions of the hike that require good balance. I absolutely loved my stay at Vichy Springs and I cannot wait to go back!!!

Yelp
People at front desk were super! Very enthusiastic and helpful! Trails were good - only recommendation would be to go when there's more water in the steams. The warm champagne baths were really relaxing and felt like I had extremely soft skin afterwards. Very pretty, very relaxing. Not overly busy either!

Yelp
This place was amazing. The champagne & beauty baths were sensational. Great jacuzzI and a huge seasonal pool. Fantastic hiking trails and its a must to see the waterfall. All the splendors an eye can imagine but the best part is the amazing customer service from the front staff. I will be visiting over and over again.

Yelp
Just outside of Ukiah, California, lies a unique haven that many of the locals don't even know about. It is no secret. There are signs everywhere. It has been there for over 160 years. Yet, it remains undiscovered by many Mendocino residents. Vichy Springs is a heavenly escape from the demands of life. A variety of cottages and rooms provide accommodations for just about any traveler. Two of the cottages are handicapped accessible, equipped with roll-in showers. Each unit has an amazing view of the natural landscaping. All cottages and rooms are just steps away from the relaxing soaking tubs. Guests staying in Creekside Rooms can enjoy the soothing sound of the creek all night as they sleep. Because the environment is designed to help guests relax and unwind, no televisions are provided. The alternate "entertainment" is much more enjoyable. Special requests of flowers and/or chocolate dipped strawberries placed in rooms are also granted. Walking through the gates of Vichy Springs takes guests into an amazing paradise. Beautiful trees and flowers grow in abundance on the property. The humming of bees tending to the flowers adds to the ambience. Strolling in the peaceful setting refreshes the mind and calms the nerves. Several trails allow visitors to escape even further from the stresses of daily life. One trail leads to magnificent water falls extending 40 feet upwards. At the bottom of the falls is a pool that many hikers enjoy soaking in after a vigorous trek. Another trail leads to the old Cinnabar Mine, an interesting site. Each trail offers an opportunity to escape the chaos and rediscover inner peace and serenity. After taking in the rejuvenating sights and sounds of Vichy Springs, a bath in the healing mineral waters can top off the day. Many bathers have experienced softer skin, improved circulation, and reversal of skin conditions such as psoriasis. Many also drink the water, asserting that it helps with digestive ailments. Curtis & Tompkins even conducted testing of the waters, reporting that the minerals in the water helped to alleviate stomach problems. Some also take advantage of the massages and facials offered at the resort. Swedish and hot stone massage sessions are available. Herbal facials with either reflexology or a massage can be scheduled. Exercise equipment is located near the pool for those who wish to keep up their workout routine. Mornings at Vichy Springs might just be the best part of the experience. A buffet style breakfast is served consisting of pastries, yogurt with granola, delicious fresh fruit, and more. Soothing music is played, making the dining experience more enjoyable. A server is present to assure that guests are cared for well. The revitalizing resort has been enjoyed by several former presidents, Jack London, and Mark Twain. Postcards featuring Mark Twain, Patch Adams, and others can be viewed on Vichy Spring's website. An overnight or weekend stay is the best way to experience this awesome vacation spot. However, day excursions are also an option.

Yelp
I have been coming to Vichy springs for almost 30 years now and have loved every visit. It is the perfect romantic getaway for couples with the perfect amount of activities to balance relaxation and staying active. My favorite things are the springs + massage + waterfall hike + dinner downtown.

Yelp
Definitely stop for a soak if you're in the area! Aside from the awesome mineral baths (the champagne bath is a trip) the grounds are beautiful and allow for quite a bit of hiking. It's NOT dog friendly. No dogs are allowed anywhere on their land. But! They've got a sweet dog roaming the property

Yelp
This is only a review of the 2-hour day-visit aspect of the springs. I had a fantastic time on a weekday this summer soaking up the relaxing and historic waters of Vichy Hot Springs. I came in the afternoon (not too hot) on my way home from camping in Humboldt. It is tucked away off the highway, but not too hard to find. The check-in process was easy, if a bit time-consuming due to another guest (they gave me a 20-minute head start to compensate though). I brought a towel and everything else I needed, they provided the beautiful property and waters. The rustic old tubs were really cool, if a little groady. The waters were really nifty, as I love sparkling water. The bubbles slowly build on everything submerged to the point of saturation. Out of this world for me, you could feel the bubbles all over. The hot tub was a nice respite, as was the hike. The encapsulated source was also otherworldly. The main pool was nice, but not very sparkly. It was totally clean though, for those less than engaged with the rusty tubs. The changing rooms were clean and you could shower if needed. I also wasn't a fan of the shooting range, but what are you going to do? I highly recommend this place for a relaxing weekday afternoon any time of year!

Yelp
A nice place, but I don't know if it's worth the price. Of course, this review is from a stay when it was still cold. In Spring or summer, it might be a very different story. Read below for more It's a California historical landmark, and obviously tries to retain that turn of the century charm. In some ways it does, and some ways it doesn't. The rooms are small but very cute, the bathrooms are also small but get the job done. There are no televisions, coffee makers, or other amenities; however, there is Wi-Fi. The room had baseboard heaters, and heated quickly. Over all, it was quite comfortable. It looked like every room had two Adirondack chairs in front, and there were some square benches, but that was about it. Having some place to sit and relax, read, or play a board game would have been nice. The baths themselves are quite nice. They have regular baths, which are carbonated and feel really nice. They also have "beauty" baths, which are not as carbonated but more heavy in minerals. The thing I really noticed, was that they said the baths were 90゚F. I would describe them as lukewarm at best. I didn't have a thermometer, but I can tell you I could only stay in them for about a 1/2 an hour before I got cold enough where I had to go back to the room. In other words, these are not Hot Springs. In warmer weather, it would probably be really refreshing and pleasant. But in cooler weather, not so much. The trails going throughout the property are quite nice. I would highly recommend exploring them if you stay. The property is beautiful and some of the overlooks give you a breathtaking vista over the area. So, I have mixed feelings. It's a nice place to stay, but I don't know if it's nice enough to justify the price tag. The baths are nice, as long as you know that they're not warm. And the property is just plain beautiful.

Yelp
Amazing place: big swimming pool, mineral pool 104F, carbonated baths 90F, trails: vista point is difficult trail, waterfall trail is easy trail; picnic areas....
