Victor Hugo Market, located in downtown Toulouse, offers a comprehensive selection of French and European food products, including popular beers and wines. I tried various cheeses, salamis, and fresh oysters, complemented by a selection of red and white wines. Ample seating is available on the second floor to accommodate groups of all sizes. I will totally visit the market during my next trip to Toulouse.

Amazing market that is clean and have a wide selection of quality food and produce. There is a big car park upstairs and the parking lots are much wider than the normal ones in the city

The Victor Hugo Market in Toulouse is an absolute feast for the senses, offering a vibrant and authentic taste of French gastronomy. From the moment you step in, you're enveloped in a bustling atmosphere filled with incredible sights and aromas. The market truly excels in its fresh produce section, with stalls brimming with an impressive array of colorful fruits and vegetables. It's clear that quality and freshness are paramount, making it a fantastic spot to pick up ingredients for a home-cooked meal or simply enjoy the vibrant display. Inside the main market hall, the offerings become even more enticing. The cheese stalls are a highlight, showcasing an incredible selection of local and regional cheeses. The sheer variety, from soft and creamy to aged and pungent, is a cheese lover's dream, beautifully presented and often adorned with little red flowers, adding to their charm. The knowledgeable vendors are often happy to offer advice and samples. For meat and charcuterie enthusiasts, the market does not disappoint. You'll find an extensive range of sausages, terrines, and other cured meats, alongside fresh cuts, all impeccably displayed and promising high quality. Beyond the raw ingredients, the market also boasts prepared foods that are perfect for a quick bite or a gourmet picnic. The selection of empanadas (both chicken and spinach) and chicken croquettes looked incredibly tempting, offering a delicious and convenient option for lunch. Whether you're a serious foody, a curious traveler, or just looking for high-quality local produce, Marché Victor Hugo is a must-visit in Toulouse. It's not just a market; it's a culinary experience that captures the essence of French food culture.

Simply one of the finest food markets in the world. I'm not exaggerating. Simply jaw dropping levels of quality and variety. If you are a foodie and you miss this you'll kick yourself.

This is a foodies paradise! All local food including duck breast, ham, cheese and great veg. We went three times. Most stalls do accept credit card and apple play will make it a breeze. The photo is the finished magret de canard (duck breast) cook it with the fat side down. Take care not to over cook it.

Yelp
This is a fantastic market. Everything that we purchased was so fresh. I wish we had this near our house!

Yelp
I would definitely recommend to visit this market. A great place to buy and taste things and also buy things to bring back home. We were in a Airbnb so we bought fresh eggs and bread for breakfast, Toulouse sausages and local vegi for dinner and cake for dessert. The day we were leaving to go to Bordeaux, we got some cheese, charcuterie and French bread and wine for the road. It's a fun place and it does get really busy so go early if you don't like the crowd. If you go too early not all places are open though. I personally like it when it's busy with lots of people, fun to watch what people buy...

Yelp
If you're visiting Toulouse, it's worth a trip here to ogle at the variety of bread, cheese, meat, and seafood that is in this market. If you're local, this is a great place to come if you're throwing a dinner party and want a nice selection of cheese and meat, or if you're cooking a dish and want some fresh meat or seafood. You can also pick up fresh pasta or raviolis, and there's an Indian booth selling prepared food, and an Asian booth (although neither look very authentic with the dishes) If you're a tourist and don't have a kitchen to cook in, you may be able to pick up a pastry/dessert and/or bread and cheese, or eat at one of the restaurants upstairs. They also have merchants selling vegetables and fruit and even one flower stand, although the prices for the produce is not exactly the cheapest. They open all days from 6 am - 2 pm, except for Mondays. We came here at 12:45 pm on a Sunday, and they were already shutting down early around 1-1:30 pm, so don't cut it too close to 2 pm. We were able to get a half loaf of bread (a demi-baguette) for 0,5€, some fresh pasta for 4€, and about 20 pieces of shrimp for 5€. Obviously on a weekday it's not as busy, and on a Sunday it's pretty busy with lots of people buying groceries for a Sunday meal. Bring cash, a lot of these vendors do not take credit card.

Yelp
Apparently, one of the most famous markets in France. Dunno how it compares to those in other towns, but it's awesome. A great place to purchase groceries. You can find the highest quality meats (lamb, beef, duck), seafood, charcuterie, cheese, preserves, wine, bread, vegetables, etc. for very reasonable prices. If you're there early, you can wake yourself up w/ a decent Lavazza espresso (just called cafe here) and a hard boiled egg from "my guy" (Chez Catherine) near the South East entrance. Also on the southernmost part: my favorite wine shop (La Cave), bakery (Maison Beauhaire; just across from my espresso guy), and cheese shop (Betty). Enjoy!

Yelp
This is THE market for Bordeaux. Many of the same types of vendors repeated - meat, cheese, produce. There are some curiosities like the oyster vendor and the duck stuff person. Outside of the market are some clothing and produce vendors, including one coffee bean guy. It's a great place especially if you are cooking at home. For me, a tourist who was only here for the day, it was just nice to walk around. If I were to do it again, I'd get the entire seafood mixed plate instead of just oysters. It's a fine price on that.

Yelp
Best feed in town! One of my favorite places to stop for lunch, the food was exquisite, there are so many choices and even better yet, its right downtown!
