My first ever Pintxos experience and I absolutely loved it! The set up, the atmosphere and the food offering was great. Unfortunately as I don't eat pork, I couldn't try everything, but what I was able to eat was an experience I'd return for. Definitely worth the trip and worth giving it a shot!

We enjoyed a delicious meal inside near the window where Anthony's service was attentive, generous and entertaining. This was the second dinner we had at Victor Montes during our two-week stay in the Basque region. We were delighted to discover it was still in business after having initially visited this establishment in 2018!

Victor Montes is an elegant tapas bar on Plaza Nueva in the Old Town of Bilbao. Expecting the bustle of a busy bar, we were pleasantly surprised that the atmosphere here was more calm than at other venues we had visited. The staff were kind and helpful, explained the different tapas on offer and encouraged us to try different vermouths. Delicious morsels, friendly staff - great experience! Absolutely recommended!!

We both had the Lamb as a main course with Wine and a Caña lemonade to drink. Incredible food and Anthony served us with a smile and kindness. Even though we only had limited Spanish it wasn’t an issue and we felt very welcome. We also had two delicious desserts and a brandy to round off the meal. 5 stars for quick service and great vibes.

What a very nice place. You might think it's a touristic restaurant, but in al fairness it still keeps the Basque/Spanish atmosphere with the excellent quality of the original dishes, the wine list and the authentic ambiance of the interior. We were more than pleasently surprised. Enjoyed a cod dish pil e pil, sirloin 35 days matured and an amazing tuna salad. The brandy's were served like in the good old days, heated by a glaas with hot water underneath. Special thanks for the excellent, attentive service of our waitress. Changing the (wrongly prepared?)margerita cocktail and a quick handover of a napkin for some small staines of Biscaya sauce on a white polo.

The food wow! The waitress was very sweet and vibey! The place, good atmosphere!

Disappointed. We were 7 people. It's not worth the expensive price. Service was pretty basic, atmosphère ok. The wine was good. The vegetables had no taste at all. The squid tartare was special, but ok. The crab croquetas were ok. The main dish (baby squid) was absolutely tasteless, we all (3 persons) agreed. Such a pity. No vegetables or potatoes or whatsoever. The meat (iberico) was ok, but basic. Would definitely not recommend. Go to a small typical lunchbar, much cheaper and above all, so much more tasteful!

Elaborate restaurant with elaborate Spanish cuisine dishes but very good tasting and presentation. It is set in Plaza Nueva with numerous other restaurants. Reservation recommended since it filled up very quickly.
