Our stay at Victoria Chau Doc was absolutely wonderful. Perched right on the banks of the Bassac River, the hotel offers stunning views of the water, especially at sunrise and sunset. The colonial-style architecture, combined with warm local touches, gives the hotel a unique charm that feels both elegant and authentic.||||Our room was clean, spacious, and opened onto a balcony where we could sit and watch boats drift by—such a peaceful experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, always going out of their way to make us feel comfortable.||||The breakfast was excellent, with a variety of fresh and delicious local and international dishes. We also loved the hotel’s boat tour to the floating fish farms and Cham villages—it was a meaningful way to explore the Mekong Delta’s culture and way of life.||||If you’re visiting Chau Doc, whether as a stopover on your way to Cambodia or for a deeper look into the Mekong, this hotel is a perfect choice. A true hidden gem with heartwarming hospitality. Highly recommended!

Beautiful old hotel by a Mekong branch, charming ambiance, welcoming and efficient staff and a short walk/ride from town center and riverside park. Good restaurant with Western and local cuisine. Bicycles on loan and calm local streets make a morning or evening ride interesting and manageable. Serves also as speedboat landing for the line between Phnom Penh and Vietnam. Interesting and economical mode of transport between Phnom Penh and the edge of the Vietnamese Mekong Delta. Great stop on the way to Can Tho.

The Victoria hotel is a traditional colonial hotel, in our view it is a little dated and in need of modernisation. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a river side view which was lovely and the river views are spectacular. The room was a nice size and had everything we needed except plug sockets which were in very short supply. All the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We ate in the restaurant on the terrace and it was a nice touch to provide insect repellent. Standard Vietnamese food but at a high price point. The breakfast was excellent. |There is a nice pool but it is super warm so not at all refreshing to swim in. The AC in the gym didn’t work and the ceiling height meant anyone over the height of your average Vietnamese couldn’t use the treadmill! |This is the most expensive hotel we stayed in during our time in Vietnam and it wasn’t the nicest. It’s a good place to stay if you are coming in or out on the speedboat from Phnom Penh as the jetty is outside the hotel. Otherwise the cost limits me to recommend this hotel

This is a lovely hotel. The staff are wonderful friendly and helpful. We had a group and thank Nhi and Noa for help with our group And their wonderful colleagues Hotel is in the centre of town on the river, close to everything The rooms are large and comfortable, breakfast is an excellent buffet with lots of choice. The evening dining we had the Al la carte menu, all dishes tried were excellent We really enjoyed our stay

Great location near all amenities in Chau Doc. Rooms with view over river very beautiful, very quiet at night. Staff very helpful. 'Victoria falls' esque theme implemented tastefully. Complimentary breakfast in morning excellent, good variety of Anglo and Continental and Viet foods, helpful cook. Hotel has pool and sauna amongst other amenities. Right next to great playground if visiting with kids.

The Victoria Hotel is known as the most prestigious and expensive option in Chau Doc, but unfortunately, it falls short of its reputation. For the price you pay, the experience simply doesn’t deliver the value you’d expect from a high-end hotel in this region. The rooms are quite small, and although they are clean and functional, the decor feels outdated and in need of a refresh. The hotel has a charming colonial style, but it now comes across as more old-school than timeless elegance. The overall ambiance would benefit from some modern refurbishing to align with its high price tag. One major tip for future guests: make sure to book a room with a river view. The street-facing rooms are very noisy, especially in the morning, which can be a real downside for light sleepers. The riverside view is much more peaceful and offers a more authentic experience of the Mekong Delta. While the location is convenient and within walking distance of the town center and local attractions, the breakfast is another disappointment. The selection is limited, and the quality is not up to the standard you would expect from a hotel at this price point. Overall, the Victoria Hotel’s prime location and historical charm give it potential, but it feels like it’s resting too much on its reputation without delivering the quality to back up the high rates. For the price, there are better-value options in Chau Doc. It’s worth considering for the location and river views, but don’t expect a luxury experience.
