A quick and different way to get around the harbour in Victoria, BC.
I walked from Chinatown to Fishermans Wharf, which was about 30 min walk. During my walk I noticed these tiny boats that were painted with a similar color scheme to a New York taxi cab, zipping around the harbour.
I had eaten lunch at Fishermans Wharf and was looking for a quick, easy way back to downtown. This is where the water taxi comes into play. It was about $15 to take the taxi to any stop downtown (March 2025). I bought my ticket from someone working a small booth near the water taxi dock. It looks like you can pay thr boat operator directly, as he had a debit/ credit card machine on board. The boat operator was super friendly and chatted with us during our short journey across the harbour. He had lots of knowledge of the Victoria area. I didn't catch his name, but he's a good asset to the boat taxi industry.
