"Victoria Gate is the city's most recent, and possibly most aesthetically impressive, shopping centre. It complements the established Victoria Quarter, which was designed based on restored Victorian shopping arcades and has a distinct vintage design with an air of luxury. While Victoria Quarter focusses on bringing the most premium brands to Leeds, Victoria Gate also boasts a casino and colossal John Lewis and Partners store. The gorgeous design makes this shopping centre an experience rather than simply a convenience - including Britain's largest stained glass work by artist Brian Clarke. Discover a tranquil, spacious place to browse shops that showcase the very best high quality products." - DS.Emotion

I am not quite sure what this ugly monstrosity of a building is and why there is a need for it. I know from years of growing up in Leeds that the council have always had ideas above their station that this city is the 'London of the North' but I don't know anyone who lives here that could afford to shop here and the strange looks we got from staff as we walked through just proves that this centre doesn't belong here.

It's a great destination for those with ample funds. The shops here are quite expensive. The area is well-maintained and pristine, featuring stores like Rolex and John Lewis, a casino, and Pret A Manger. However, it's not recommended for those on a strict budget. Window shopping is an option, though.

Beautiful shopping centre in Leeds with great shops and a lot of designer shops, I could spend a fortune! I went just after Christmas, so the decorations were still up and very classy.

Beautiful building, always clean and bright. Nice large, clean toilets which are upstairs but there is a lift for those who struggle with stairs. Unfortunately, as they only have top end brands, it's difficult for them to keep all of the shops full and regularly have vacant lots. Helpful security staff and information desk where you can do click and collect parcels.

Busy shopping centre with a good range of shops plenty of places to grab a bite to eat and drink. This was very busy whilst I visited and this was kid week so would imagine weekends are super busy. Leeds has a big homeless issue which is rather unpleasant and this does somewhat detract away from a very cultural city with a lot to offer. Those who are on the streets can become rather aggressive so be mindful of this number of tactics to get you to stop and some abuse when you don't so be prepared.

I just had a very successful shopping trip here. This cathedral type building (a temple to Mammon?) houses a number of lovely shops with John Lewis at the end of it. The car park is handy, clean and I have always managed to find a place. Clean stairway and working lifts.

It's a beautiful shopping arcade with many classy and up-market shops in it. The Xmas decorations inside and outside are just lovely!

What could have been the Jewel in the Crown for Leeds, not forgetting the Victoria Quarter sadly had it's interior design finished on the cheap, mainly due to an economic crisis part way through the process of construction. Whilst the roof is awesome the flooring and the wind proofing are horrendous. I actually preferred the original bond Street centre in as much as at least it was warm in winter in most parts. Add to the pot that there is no clear browsing experience or simple shopping experience finding the shop you require is rather like finding a virgin in a brothel; hopefully one day they actually finish the place to the standard it was intended and weather proof the current wind tunnel!
